  1. AND, the scoreless streak ends at 31.2 innings.? Alexander finds a small bit of trouble here in the fifth with several opposite field hits with one down. Men are on 1st and 2nd with one down and it's 6-1 on the most recent single to Garrett Whitley in LF.
  2. Hey now Corey Ray!! A bases-clearing triple on a rip to right field in the bottom of the fourth with still no outs and it's 4-0 Sounds.
  3. Alexander is just cruising through 4 as he grabs his second punchout to end the frame and he's only at 55 pitches. 1-0 Sounds to the bottom half. That's 31.1 scoreless. We need a scoreboard. LOL.
  4. Hey now Brent Diaz have a young season! He punches in two with a single into center right field. It's 2-0 Shuckers. Way to give Otero a little cushion, lads!
  5. Meanwhile, in Birmingham... Gabe Holt leads ground out to second to start the first. Garrett Mitchell follows with a single to RF and Wiemer knocks him to third on a hard hit double through the third base side. Let's see if Thomas Dillard can get out of his funk as he's worked the count full. And the pay-off pitch...well done! The bases are full. One down.
  6. That's 3-up and 3-down again for Alexander. We are into the 30's scoreless. Whewwww. 30.1 in a row. If you are wondering...the record for the Sounds is 36 some innings, I believe.
  7. That's right, my friend. If you recall, we picked him up in 2016 and traded him in 2018 for Xavier Cedeño (along with another player, if I recall?).
  8. Alexander has his stuff working early as he's getting a lot of ground balls - a result the sinker baller is aiming for. That's 29.1 scoreless for you at Home. 1-0 Sounds. Bottom of the 2nd. This is my second time, in full, watching Jason pitch. He has some stuff, for sure. What a nice free agent addition this Winter!
  9. Mr. Baseball, Jon Singleton, punches a well-hit liner fly-out to middle RF knocking in Garrett Whitley from 3rd base on the sacrifice fly. Whitley led off the first inning with a double to left field and took third base on a Bryce Turang chopper bounce out to second base. It's 1-0 Sounds headed to the top of the second frame.
  10. Worth mentioning, and I failed to mention this last night, but in and amongst the various Sounds streaks going on at present: They are currently 17 of 17 on the stolen bases path. This is a Triple-A team dialed-in to start the season.
  11. Jason Alexander comes out for a three-up and three-down first innings. We have 28.1 straight innings scoreless. He is touching 95 on the radar gun repeatedly with a little bit of sink in there to boot. Pairing it with a nice hooking breaking ball and he looks just as sharp as outings one and two.
  12. Looking forward to Andy Otero's opportunity to continue dominating the strike zone and Double-AA hitters to get the Shuckers back on track. Let's hope the hitters can find something and turn the tide of their current woes.
  13. My Man! I wish I could have been there with you. I jumped out of my seat several times in those late innings. Man, I tell ya, I though Joe Gray Jr. was going to take that lead in the bottom of the eighth on that deep fly ball to left field. Little did I know! Little did I know...
  14. I saw those same chilly winds this past week as that High Pressure front made its way from the arctic down through the Inland Northwest. Gross weather! It was giving fits all day in the outfield. Did you stay the entire contest? What a game!
  15. Agreed. With Devin, he has shown he has periods of scuffling as he finds his stuff. Let's see where we are by, say, June.

  17. WOW. Wild pitch walk off. Unbelievable stuff. Timber Rattlers trailed 9-2 and pull it off for a 10-9 victory. What. A. Finish.
  18. OMG. Timber Rattlers just won it on a wild pitch. They were down 9-2 and just won on a wild pitch walk off 10-9. It ruined Sal Frelick's chance to make history and go 6-6 - the first Rattler who would have ever done it. Whewwww what a game in truly terrible conditions. Yeah baby!
  19. James Meeker pitches a scoreless ninth and the Rattlers come up to try and steal one in Appleton. AND, we have men on second and third with NO outs. Tristen Peters at the dish to see if he can get the victory. It's all happening so fast. Drinks are spilling! Tristen knocks a single into RF. It's 9-9. Winning run at third. Men on the corners. Zero outs.
  20. At this point in time, I have to say I like Frelick for that spot by a decent margin. The addendum here is obviously: it's way too early to tell. But, I watch the majority of these minor league contests. Mitchell doesn't have the intensity I see in Frelick and I would politely argue Sal is the better athlete anyway. I am not as high on Mitchell as most but that can change if Mitchell can stay healthy and start putting together the total package. He has the skills, but, in my view, there is something amiss.
  21. I LOVE IT! Keston, show us what. is. up! In Appleton, Sal Frelick just launched an opposite field bomb and is 5-5 on the day. We have ourselves a lead-off weapon, gents. This kid is electric.
  22. Darrien Miller ends the inning stranding Tyler Black at first base. Darrien does have a single to deep RF today but he is swinging for the fences and getting under everything. I imagine he'll head back to the cages and work on leveling his swing once he sees the tape. 3 sky pop-up outs on the day.
  23. Oh man, Joe Gray Jr. just got under one to LF. I thought it was gone off the bat? I might have...might...have jumped and squealed like my 4 yo daughter in an Easter egg hunt.
  24. Oh muh Lawwwwwwd sweet goat milk baby cheesus! Sal Frelick having A DAY! A two run opposite field JACK and he is 5-5 on the day. The first such 5 hit performance since August 8th of 2021 (JeVon Ward hit for the cycle if you recall). Oh BABAY! 8-9. LET'S GO!
  25. Frelick will come up to the plate shortly for a chance to go 5-5. The young man is such a future lead-off weapon. I am absolutely loving watching this young man play.
