  1. The Brewers kinda need this game because they have to next play the Reds in that stupid closet they call a baseball park. The Reds offense is particularly terrifying in that place.
  2. Don’t really like entering the second half of the game up 1-0 against this Reds offense.
  3. Yeah, back in the day it was astounding how quickly some guys reached the majors. I don’t think Dave Winfield played a single game in the minors.
  4. I’ve had this project on the back burner for ages and need to just get it done. We’re looking for someone to write up the AmFam experience and will pay for it. Think you know the stadium well enough to write up something like this? https://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-guides-resources/the-ultimate-fan-guide-to-target-field-r3/
  5. I waver between the pinstripes and cream but I think I slightly prefer the cream. Both are excellent.
  6. It’s getting harder for me to resist buying a cream Yelich jersey.
  7. Obviously, there's still a lot left to see with Contreras and Payamps but so far, this trade looks great. The initial trade was pretty meh, IMO, but the follow-up move to acquire Contreras and Payamps was freakin' spectacular.
  8. I don't know much about those prospects but at a glance, I think the Brewers will want more than a 75-ish global prospect headlining a package for Burnes. But then again, the Brewers know pitching and I trust their internal evaluations far more than prospect hounds.
  9. In the long standing tradition of San Diego, he's acting like a drunken sailor.
  10. Thanks for starting this, @homer! I've been at a party convention all weekend and let's just say I'm not in the best shape of my life right now.
  11. I'm locking the previous thread because it has become so stale. So let's find the same old way to make this thread stale, too!
  12. Oh yeah, I'm not worked up about it but I watch a lot of different teams play baseball and the umpiring has been a real problem this season and I'm saying this as a person who is pretty lenient with umpires. It's time to start automating more things to bring balance to the game, something I wasn't really in favor of as recently as 2-3 years ago. And I say this acknowledging that umpiring has actually gotten a lot better over the past couple of decades.
  13. They have cameras that track swing planes and whatnot, I'm pretty sure it's part of the StatCast package that we don't get to see as the public. It's the same kind of tech they use for Driveline, it definitely exists and is in MLB stadiums to some capacity.
  14. Yeah check swings are a mess. They need to automate them, which is easy enough to do. If the bat head clears the front of the plate, it’s a swing.
  15. The Brewers are starting Colin Rea every fifth day. I don’t think “caring enough” is the problem here.
  16. Yeah I’m beyond ready for some sort of umpire automation. I prefer the challenge system but I’ll take anything at this point.
  17. I hate their ownership. Team is fun, though.
  18. As weird as this may sound, I kinda prefer it when a guy gets demoted and struggles for a bit in AAA. I think it sends the message that something needs to change, allowing them more substantive progress toward being a better hitter. If a guy is struggling at AAA, it's pretty obvious they're doing something less-than-optimally and should listen to coaches.
  19. Hey Brewers, once you get a lead you should keep it.
  20. Hey, everybody. Keep it on topic and let's not make it personal.
  21. Yeah, that's really the only concern with him. His contract is super-reasonable with multiple options.
  22. Also being a Twins fan, please don’t do this, Brewers. 🙂
  23. It will take a lot to get Robert but I think there's a semi-decent chance the White Sox blow up the roster at the deadline. There just isn't much mid- or long-term hope for them at this point.
