  1. Thanks to everyone for a successful MLB Draft! We had 1,800+ users a day for eight days straight!

  2. What model of device and browser are you using? This has happened in the past but I thought I had it squashed, will reach out to the ad provider again.
  3. As players sign, please list them here! It really helps me keep track of which players to promote and make sure the tracker stays updated.
  4. Was this part of his opt-in with the Cardinals? Or did he approve the trade leaving Colorado?
  5. Yeah, that's kinda where I think I am as well. Though trading Arenado means they will be less of a thread short-term but more of a threat long-term. Which is better?
  6. Oh no, I don't think he has a shot at coming to Milwaukee, it's more of an interesting thing to note about what the Cardinals might do at the deadline.
  7. They almost did but MLB and the MLBPA couldn't agree on terms for an international draft.
  8. To be clear, I don't have anything about Nolan Arenado, he seems like a perfectly reasonable chap who was kinda done dirty by the Colorado Rockies (though being forcibly booted out of that organization is something of a blessing). Jon Heyman asked him a few questions the other day and Arenado says he isn't expecting a trade but wouldn't be surprised by one, either. Things are bleak in St Louis. The Cardinals aren't used to losing like this and it appears no one really knows how to handle their current struggles. Things were obviously very wrong when Marmol heaved Willson Contreras under the bus and while the Cards have put together a couple of small winning streaks, they've gone right back to losing again afterward. Truth be told, I hadn't even considered an Arenado trade. While he's aging toward his mid-30s, he's still very productive with the bat and his contract is quite reasonable through 2027, given that the Rockies are on the hook for $5 million per year for the next three years. It's quite obvious the Cardinals will be selling but to what extent?

  10. Agreed in that I've never been very high on Anderson, either. I'm also skeptical of his player type, who rarely seems to age well. But he's almost surely still better than he has been in 2023.
  11. I can't stand Lance Lynn so I'm happy to see the Brewers pass on him. I'm not sure where Anderson fits on this roster, though if they're confident about a bounceback, he's an interesting option.
  12. MLBTR has a nice round-up of White Sox players potentially on the block this trade deadline. Jon Heyman reports that the White Sox are unlikely to move on from their big four controllable players: Luis Robert Jr, Eloy Jimenez, Dylan Cease, or Andrew Vaughn. It's my opinion those players are likely out of the price range of the Brewers anyway so I'm not sure that's a big loss for Milwaukee. Where it gets interesting is in the Southsiders' range of expiring or near-expiring contracts. Those players include Lance Lynn, Tim Anderson, Lucas Giolito, and more relievers than you can shake a stick at. If Milwaukee doesn't bite on some of these names, it's very likely the Reds front office will given the number of pitchers the White Sox can offer and Cincinnati's pressing need for pitching.

  14. What are you all thinking of our draft coverage so far this year? Any comments on the tracker or things that could be improved?
  15. Heheh, popped in to check up on the BF twitter account and saw this:
  16. Here's a rundown on the top names still on the board today. https://www.mlb.com/news/2023-mlb-draft-day-2-overview-and-schedule
  17. When looking back at past drafts, day two is often what makes a good draft turn great. It will be interesting to see what strategy the Brewers employ today.
  18. We had +50% more users drop by on draft day than we did in 2022! Thank you all!

  19. Well, that was high-tension but they got the job done. Two out of three against the Reds, I'll take that every time.
  20. The Brewers kinda need this game because they have to next play the Reds in that stupid closet they call a baseball park. The Reds offense is particularly terrifying in that place.
