  1. Welcome to Brewer Fanatic!
  2. What an interesting dive into the numbers. I never really thought that hard about whether short guys suffer from an umpire's zone but of course that's possible, maybe even likely.
  3. Two weeks ago, the Mets looked like they were on a path to being clear sellers at the trade deadline; several games under .500 and well back of the Wild Card, most expected David Stearns to sell. A small warm-streak later, they're still under .500 but now only two games out of the third Wild Card spot in the National League. Why should a Brewers fan care? Well, because the Mets have starting pitching, and a lot of it. Mike Puma of the New York Post tweeted that it's possible the Mets may look to move starters while also trying to contend. They have several starters coming back from injury or in the minors (see below) but also have several starters on expiring or short-term contracts: Luis Severino (3.52 ERA, free agent after the season), Jose Quintana (4.58 ERA, free agent after the season), and Sean Manaea (4.16 ERA, $13.5 million option for 2025) are three options the Metropolitans could use as bait to beef up their middle-of-the-pack offense. 5. Welcome to Brewer Fanatic! I disagree about Ashby. I've never been super-high on him but still think there's a good chance he holds his own in the long run. Coming back from a shoulder surgery is a lengthy process.
  6. Nice blog entry, @Stealofhome! Given Hoskins' limited PAs against lefties, this isn't something I'm terribly concerned about... yet. But I've seen good righties just become lost against LHP for a full season at a time (the entire Twins team did it in... 2022? something like that). Hopefully that isn't the case here but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.
  7. We're bringing back this event after taking a year off last year due to event coordination issues. We're not promoting this outside the site yet but wanted to give all of you forum users some incentive to come by and watch a game with us! Here are the details: It's a 6:05pm start on July 27th vs the Marlins. We'll start tailgating around 3pm so come by for complimentary brats, beer, and conversation. I'll be there, along with several Brewer Fanatic writers including our new beat writer, Jack Stern. The game ticket itself is $46 (section 211, first base side) but we're offering the package for $40. Most importantly of all, this event is free for all Brewer Fanatic Caretakers. For $60/year, you get a free $46 ticket and ad-free browsing across the site for the next 12 months. Due to the cost of this event, it's likely caretaking prices will go up later this year so jump in now while you can. Become a Brewer Fanatic Caretaker today by going here: https://brewerfanatic.com/subscriptions Here is the link to the event page, please join us for a great time and hopefully a Brewers win!
  8. I find this year really encouraging, mostly because of the offense. The Brewers are showing they're still a pitching development beast but now if they can also assemble a competent offense, watch out. That probably won't happen this season and that's okay. But given their selection of young arms, the future looks really bright.
  9. I mean, the team has the third-best record in the league. Could they be better? Sure. But given this rotation, it's nothing short of a miracle they have the record they do.
  10. Rough pitching matchup tonight. Will the real Freddy please stand up?
  11. I tuned out, assuming the game was well in hand. I just watched the recap and wow.
  12. Looks like I missed very little after going to sleep last night while the game was tied 2-2. Sigh.
  13. I literally LOLed at that list of players who were out at the plate.
  14. Welcome to the site!
  15. The Angels were my local team for almost a decade (I lived in Long Beach). Fun fact about me: I was at the first rally monkey game in... 2000? Somewhere around that time. Against the Giants IIRC.
  16. You've probably seen the forum already but today I opened access to everyone to start playing around with this. The goal of this project is to collect all of the coolest information on Brewers players across the history of the franchise. Have a favorite but obscure player? Grab him today and create a page for him! Or want to grab icons like Yount? Have at it! We're not promoting this project yet, I just wanted to do a quiet soft launch so those of you interested in Brewers history can have first shot at the juiciest players first. https://brewerfanatic.com/milwaukee-brewers-players-project/

  17. West coast game so there's a near-zero chance I'll be tuning in due to being an old man.
  18. Try to find a situation where it's better without Snoop Dogg. I dare you.
