The only thing I can figure is that Yost is leaving Davis out there because he holds runners so well. OK, I suppose the 11 of 12 men he has retired lately might figure into it. Or maybe Ned doesn't want to touch the bullpen?
If they don't score some runs here in support of DD's outing, then the sheriff should just come out and arrest them. Lacking support like that is just criminal.
It's not so much that he is not getting hits, it is how he looks at the plate. His approach seems off, very much like the stuff we say when he was going bad. Probably just an over-reaction on my part. But he just looks...different. Back to his bad old self.
Don't like it when they hit it on the screws -- as Carlos did -- and get nothing for it. Add that to the sharply hit DP balls, the web gem at third and the bounce HR. So luck Just doesn't seem to be with the Brewers today -- at least so far.
I don't disagree about Jenkins. I noted in my post that he swung wildly at the low, inside breaker and then rolled a weakling to second -- neither a good sign. However, I don't want to cashier him yet, not with a 16 game hitting streak.
