  1. the decision isn't between Greinke and Chi-chi, it's between them and any starting pitcher they could obtain for a reasonable price.
  2. I wouldn't mind having him, but he has nothing left in the tank. He's only striking out 4.8/9 this season. I'm guessing they could get better than him for the salary he's earning.
  3. Gallo is a chicken (well, rooster).
  4. I advocate trading Severino and Jackson, if we have someone willing to take them for something potentially useful.
  5. I don't think gettin ABs for Alex Jackson should be a priority. I'd look to trade him or demote him.
  6. He hit .294 with an .825 OPS. I suspect he was upset that Davis was called up instead of him. I wish him the best playing in the majors with some bad team.
  7. "back end" usually refers to the top relievers.
  8. 1. Trade Severino. An A+ lottery ticket is sufficient. 2. Since they let Dahl go, acquire someone who can play CF well and at least hit .675 OPS (ideally much more). When Taylor returns he can split time around the OF. 3. Decide whether to have faith in the starting pitching or not (Burnes and Woodruff seem solid, but Lauer has regressed and Peralta might not be able to go deep in games; Houser has stalled, and Ashby has been inconsistent). If we don't have faith, acquire a starter. If we have faith the starting pitching will sort itself out, acquire a RP who can go multiple innings. 4. Acquire a RP who we can slot with our 7-9th innings guys, giving the team more flexibility and a day off, even if we have multiple close games in a row.
  9. I listed 5 brewers.
  10. Perez was hitting .200 with a .667 OPS before this game. And even including this game, he's hitting .160 with a .560 OPS during July. Let's have him hit well in two games straight before we plan to promote him.
  11. 17 runs on 10 hits, 9 BB, 2 HBP, and 2 ERR(by the other team).
  12. Turang with a homer, raising his OPS above .700!
  13. Your memory doesn't jibe with the truth. They are hitting considerably BETTER with men in scoring position.
  14. Obviously it would be good to have an improvement at any position. You could write an article like this about any of our players. But it's more expensive to improve on a player who has been adequate than one who has been abysmal. And I don't even think Bell is a good option to replace Rowdy. He's not a good first baseman, and this year seems to be a fluke.
  15. It's a lineup of a guy batting first (Yelich leading off) and a bunch of guys who should be batting 5-8th (Davis not included).
  16. The ONLY reason to move him up is to pay him more money. Players get promoted to the Majors from AA all the time.. The thing that's curious is that he's totally blown away his previous performance. His last good year was at A+ and he's done far better than he's ever done.
  17. He's done great and he might have a place on the ML team. OTOH, I'd be willing to bet that he doesn't keep this torrid pace up, and I'd be willing to trade him (to a team that values him according to his 2022 production) for a piece that improves us right now.
  18. So you're saying we'd need to include Reetz too. ?
  19. He's become mortal (in June and July). We need him to reclaim his godhood.
  20. When's the last player who had 43% of his contract deferred a long time?
  21. just spitballing a big trade that nets us a CF, SP, and RP who all have team control for at least a few years. Baltimore gives up: Cedric Mullins, CF 27 y.o. Tyler Wells, SP 26 y.o. Jorge Lopez, RP 29 y.o. Milwaukee gives up: Frelick Houser Small one guy between 15-20 on our list of prospects. another guy at 31+ on our list of prospects.
  22. Anyone subscribe to the Athletic? They had an article listing prospects the Brewers might trade. Wondered if there were any surprised.
