  1. Now I'm for trying to get another inning. Facing 6-8 batters next inning.
  2. I was wondering if CC would pinch hit McCutchen for Hiura against a LHP. Would have said a lot about their use going forward.
  3. It could be worse. Hayward is making $22M, and the same next year.
  4. I christen Lo Cain with a new nickname: Lobby, because he always leaves runners on base (LOB).
  5. I'd have a quick hook, but I think he can get through 6.
  6. Schwindel was a pretty good story last year--guy finally gets his chance to play in the majors and rakes. He's regressed a lot, and probably to his true ability.
  7. JBJ did worse, over a longer time frame, but yeah, Cain is painful to watch.
  8. Alexander only threw 2.3 BB/9 in Nashville. He has 3 through 2. If he stops doing that, and gets more ground balls, he might be OK.
  9. Jason Alexander doing Jason Alexander things--inducing ground balls.
  10. I agree. I didn't really see a way he'd be brought up unless one of the MLB catchers was nicked up.
  11. Mario Feliciano is making a case to be on the major league roster.
  12. I don't have a lot of confidence in Jason Alexander, but I'm hoping he can get through 5+ innings without allowing too much damage. The Brewers are historically terrible against debut pitchers; maybe the Cubs will emulate us
  13. If you can guarantee Polanco will start hitting HRs like he did in 2021 and 2019, this seems like a good idea. If it's only a lateral move from Wong, at the cost of a useable bullpen arm and a promising catching prospect, it's not so good. IMO, Wong isn't doing so badly that you have to look for ways to replace him.
  14. I think they're clearly AAAA guys at this point, but would it make sense to bring up Dahl, Johnny Davis, or Almonte from Nashville? They're all having pretty good years in AAA. Otherwise, the in-house help could come from Joey Wiemer, though he has had a mini-slump lately.
  15. I didn't mind the McCutchen signing, but he's not being used in a way to maximize his value (few starts against RHP). Things might improve when Renfroe gets back, but McCutchen was an everyday starter when Renfroe was playing.
  16. After his "big game" he's 0-8 with 8 LOB.
  17. Who's the first promotion from Wisconsin: Black or Peters?
