  1. They aren't allowed to hunt all year long...they just do. I actually called the DNR earlier this afternoon and am hoping to hear back from them soon...
  2. I hunted in the Cashton, WI area this weekend. Whoa, there are NO DEER around there! The Amish have been slaughtering the herd and it really needs to stop (they hunt 365 days/year). I saw two deer in a total of 18 hours of hunting, both does, and shot one of them because it was already injured. What a bummer of a hunt! The rest of the weekend was awesome though...loved the friend/family time.
  3. Hey all, My wife wants an Ipod dock for in the kitchen/dining room. While we are not sound snobs we don't exactly want to listen to tin-can sounding small radios. Have any of you had good/bad experiences with some of the small docks? Thanks, Hammer
  4. MW2 non stop...same here. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
  5. I agree 100% here. When Max Redd went down I was hoping that Skiles would have the stones to put Meeks in. Charlie Bell is not, and never will be, good enough to start at shooting guard. Why not find out if Meeks can be that guy down the road?
  6. I'm guessing that a lot of the guys there are suffering with fatigue. I'm not an expert, but when I read your statement I immediately thought that "this is the longest season that they have ever pitched". Just my opinion though...
  7. Does everyone need to be so crititcal about everything around here? Sheesh, yeah, we used a kit for 3 of our 4 pumpkins but what makes that less fun? It is a family activity and the pumpkins still don't carve themselves...
  8. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/8a2256b4fdca557a40fcaeab2cef374ae08e533.pjpg This is our family 4 pack. Two for my 3 y/o (alien and silly face), a "BOO" ghost from my wife and a Macaulay Culkin pose for mine.
  9. I have a very strong respect for law enforcement officers. This video, though, really tests that trust. While I realize that not all officers possess the inner piece of crap that these officers have, it really unnerves me. This one will blow-up...I guarantee it. http://www.mercurynews.com/top-stories/ci_13635707
  10. I own an 07 Edge and will buy Edge's as long as they are made. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned by far and the list is pretty long for me to judge from. The gas mileage is a little lower than some of the Honda's or Toyota's (19 city and 24 highway) but the ride is smooth and it has withstood a pretty good front-end impact without being noticable in the long run. We drove all of the small crossover's and just kept coming back to the Edge.
  11. Ken Macha does not belong in Milwaukee. He belongs in a New York or LA where he has a stable of vets to play. Not a good move by Mr. Melvin...and it probably signals his demise as well.
  12. Congrats!!!
  13. Melvin: So, you want me to take Igawa for Hall....and that? Cashman: Yep, your rotten bullpen needs a pitcher like Igawa. He's first class stuff. Melvin: How bout this Cash...please kiss my left butt cheek...and that. Then kiss the right one for good measure...and that.
  14. I'd have to throw a vote in for the Culvers Butterburger. That, with an order of 0-rings (putting 2 on the burger of course) is a great lunch/dinner for me...
  15. What? He was drafted this year and you are already hoping that he would be a bench player? Speed kills...and he has a ton of it. If he is even average in the field and carries a decent obp I would hope he can make it as a starter.
  16. The T-Rats were anemic again this evening. There is absolutely NO offense on this team. They just plain out can't hit with or without runners on. Scarpetta seemed to tire after the 2nd inning when his velocity seemed to drop. Also, has anyone else noticed that Lawrie has Weeks disease at 2nd base? Everything he throws to 1st, even routine groundouts, is sidearm. He was accurate with it this evening but I found that strange. Nothing else stood out on the night...just a blah game.
  17. Is the firedougmelvin.com website all ready to be cranked up? If this is our only move he really needs to go...
  18. Putting together a team that gets blown out by the Nats would be a good enough reason for me...
  19. They were just trying to screw w/ our freaking internet geek minds. Whoa...does this mean that Escobar has been traded?
  20. Now that Lugo has been DFA'd the trade of JJ to Boston for pitching of some sort seems like a no-brainer. Penny + or Buchholz...it doesn't matter to me. C'mon Doug...make this happen, and that.
  21. Hey guys, I'll be meeting w/ the league commish and head ump this evening (perks of being an ump in the same city) and will update this late tonight. I'm going to argue for a forfeit from the safety perspective first and then from a competitive second. doa - freezing a ball makes it compress less as ftj mentioned...it also breaks down slower so it stays hard all game unlike other gold dot balls which are mush by the 3rd inning. More to come. Hammer
  22. Yep, it is an ASA league. The bats are really tamed down, the balls are tamed down and the game has really improved because of it in the last couple of years. That said, the doctoring of the ball is blatantly against the rules in my opinion and has a couple of teams bent out of shape now (got 4 phone calls this morning already from other players in the league). I'll be looking at the ASA rule book at some point today to get some more info...
  23. I play in a pretty competitive softball league on Tuesday nights. We have been required to use gold dot softballs (each team provides their own balls) for the safety of the infielders/pitchers ever since bats got very technically advanced. Last night, the team we played against used softballs that were frozen. It was pretty easy to tell since they were still cold to the touch in the 7th inning. I brought this up to the umpires several times but they said "just play" and "leave if you want". Now, I play 3rd base so I was a bit nervous about taking a line drive off of my face and the end result of the game was a 22-9 loss. They hit 5 homers and generally just clubbed the ball all over the park. What would you guys/gals have done in this situation? Protest the game (both in 1st place going in to the game)? Would you have forfeited? Freeze your own softballs for next week (not my idea, but a teammates idea)?
  24. Speed, speed, speed. These young kids are fun to watch!!
