  1. Actually, I'm going to see them in Oshkosh instead, since that is only a little over an hour from my house. I'm only making the three hour trip to Milwaukee once, and that's for (mainly) DBT. RayKings - you should drop me a line if you do wind up going there. I'm sure there will some other Nine Bullets people there, too. I'll definitely be cozying up between the monitors by Cooley. Brett - I live in Oshkosh and am thinking about going to that show. I actually live a few blocks from the Amphitheater. We should meet up or something.
  2. If she hits with 19 and the dealer has 16 and she gets a 2 and then the dealer busts everyone cheers. If she gets a Queen and the dealer gets a 4 they want to string her up. I agree with the OP, the unwritten rules of blackjack dont make sense.
  3. On the one hand I really believe in the draft philosophy of BPA, but pretty soon I have to question drafting guys who play the field with a frying pan instead of a glove. Weeks, Fielder, Braun, LaPorta and Gamel...we can only hide them in so many places. If this Hewitt is already projecting as an OF plus he is raw Id rather look for more of a sure thing.
  4. The likely hood that Braun develops an eye is much smaller than the likely hood that some of the hard hit balls by Weeks start to fall in to boost his average. I think Weeks will have an OBP of around .375 by the end of the year with Braun more like .330.
  5. The Bucks should take the NBA version of a high school right handed pitcher.
  6. Do we get more runs when a #1 or #2 hitter score vs. when a #4 hitter scores? If not, then I think they have the same value.
  7. This rotation is gonna look awfully bad without Sheeter next year. Gulp. Great Game Ben!
  8. Weeks's BABIP is .209. That is extremely low and might show that he has been pretty unlucky. In years past it was .290, .351, .287. That is actually encouraging, because that BABIP has to come up. What is discouraging thought is is LD% is down this year to just 12% (down from 17-20% in years past) while the percentage of flyballs he hits to be infield pop ups has gone up over the years, now at 20%. Also his GB% is at 50%. So to sum up, Weeks is hitting into some bad luck but he is hitting more groundballs this year, and when he does hit a fly ball, there is a 1/5 chance that it is a pop out.
  9. Where can I find current BABIP and LD% for players this season?
  10. Im probably the biggest Bill Hall fan in the world, and even I wouldnt mind seeing Branyan up to spell Hall against the occaisonal tough righty. Maybe give Hall all the LH starts and enough RH starts to equal half the total starts with Branyan staring the rest vs. RHP. Just a thought.
  11. Anyone currently in the hole?
  12. I think it would be cool to do a 9 game series, but Im not the one that would be putting together the sim. Id be interested in what happened/storylines of the games etc. that is for sure.
  13. Im no longer on deck, we had a safe arrival on Tuesday afternoon. Girl, 7 lbs 12 oz. all are doing well, they are coming home in a few hours.
  14. 1. The All Milwaukee (Brewers/Braves) roster set would be awesome. 2. Also, you mentioned something about that All Time Brewers vs. All Time Yankees post 1970 9 game series sim a while back, anything further with that?
  15. the inflation comes in when talking about arbitration, not the upper end deals like A-Rod's. Arbitration is based upon the average salary of similar players. Those contracts rise (see Jack Wilson and Jeff Suppan) and with it arbitration awards rise. Arby awards have increased quite a bit in the past 5 years. No reason to expect it NOT to continue. This is a very smart deal.
  16. This is genius. To lock him into a deal and not have to worry about escalating arbitration awards (Ryan Howard) and getting a year of free agency is a great move.
  17. For just this year or into the future? If just this year, I dont know, depends on who is available. If into the future I hear Ben Sheets is Free Agent at the enf of the season. Id love to have him going forward.
  18. Hat tip to this guy coming on here and "facing the music" at least for as much music as can be generated by a lowly message board. I've got to go sharpen my pencils now and re-tape my glasses.
  19. Fastballs dont rise, it defies physics.
  20. I can see questioning why the Brewers would want to move to FL. but why question if Madtown was making this up?
  21. I remember when Toluwitzki did it last year. Come ROY argument between Braun and Tulo some guy I knew was arguing that Tulo turned an unassisted triple play and that was the tie breaker because it was so rare. After I explained how dumb he was for thinking that mattered and that all Tulo did was catch line drive, step on a base and tag a guy, he abandoned that argument.
  22. 1st, the reason the Marlins and Rays are getting pub because everyone down there is from NY anyway, so more East Coast Bias, Florida style. 2nd, when are we going to stop holing talk radio to such a high standard? The people who do local talk radio are not smart people, and the least smart of those people are the dumb exjocks or ex-jock wannabes who are not bright enough to read the traffic report. The pay in local radio is awful and the hours stink, so no kidding the people on 1070 and 1250 are ignorant when it comes to facts, etc. I, too used to get ticked listening to these bozos, but come on, give them a break, the reason they are in radio is because they didnt do their homework in high school, why should it be any differnt now that they are adults?
  23. Any word on when it ships?
  24. Hello OOTP (Out of The Park) Baseball fans. I havent played in a few years but was thinking about jumping back into it. I have 6.5 and I was wondering if I should just keep playing that and start a new league with it or if OOTP 8 is worth getting. I mostly import the real rosters and run it that way. If anyone has any suggestions lets here them.
  25. 'nother dang lawyer.
