Just for reference sake, they person who will probably win our office bracket is a secretary who is a self-described redneck who has never watched college basketball in her life. Her final four was Kentucky, Temple, Butler and Boston University. She had Duke and KU losing in the first round. Butler/Kentucky final and Kentucky winning the whole enchilada. Although I cant remember which one, she also had a 14 seed in the elite 8, but they lost in the first round. Meanwhile, college basketball junkies are left wondering what happened.

Its a 12 team mixed league. The preseason "ranks" of those pitchers are 169 Cueto, 217 Volquez, 219 Arroyo, 22 Shields, and 227 Wood. Greinke 67, Gallardo 87 and Marcum 111. So, no, we arent undervaluing them. Pitchers are undervalued in Fantasy Baseball regardless, but that applies to both Brewer pitchers and Reds pitchers equally. Like I said, it means very little, but it does mean something.

I know that in the grand scheme of things this is meaningless, but in my fantasy baseball draft that is currently going on, we are int he 20th round and the top pitchers available are Cueto, Volquez, Arroyo, James Shields and Travis Wood. Meanwhile, Gallardo Greinke and Marcum ahve been off the board for a long time, and we are not homers, we are all very competative. I know "fantasy" is just that and it isnt reality, but it says something about the Reds pitchers ceilings, IMO.

The 15k seating capacity is only a problem if you feel they could consistently draw more than that. In fact, if it leads to more sell outs that is probably a good thing because it makes ticket demand go up for other games. I wouldnt think the 15k seating capacity would be a problem. As I understand it, NHL games are the most expensive tickets in sports, so I wouldnt necessarily equate AHL success with NHL success if the ticket prices are that much different, even if the quality of the product is better. tHat goes for both Houston and Manitoba. That being said, if all things were equal I would prefer to see teams in Manitoba or Quebec City over Houston and Phoenix.

What is truTv and does this mean that local games will not be on CBS? Is truTV like Hulu or ESPN3 or something online? I just want to know if we can watch the games or if we now need some obscure television channel to watch the tourney all of the sudden. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?

I actually wouldnt mind too much if he goes to the cubs. He is already in the division. If for no other reason for the drama it would create. Plus, I love watching athletes who have more money than 99.99% of the living world and some countries destroy their legacy in the town where they made it in exchange for a few extra million a year on top of the 20-25 million per year they could have had and the 100+ million they have already earned.

Now rotoworld is reporting that the contract the Cardinals wanted Pujols to sign would have made Albert the 10th highest paid player and therefore would be between 19-21 million a year - according to Ken Rosenthal. Take if for what it is worth.

Yeah, my kid isnt going pro (Im not one of those parents), I think my wife just doesnt want him watching pro hockey and getting the sense that he can smack the crap out of anyone who disagrees with him.

1. At least Axford's is first so if he falters later in the season we wont be having a bobblehead day for a long-reliever. 2. There is at least an outside chance that if the BRewers are somehow out of it that either Counsel or Wolf wont be BRewers by the time their dates roll around. 3. Really? An Axford, Counsel and Wolf bobblehead and no Gallardo?

Id like to think that Football and Baseball are emotional games as well (and my wife is well-versed in both fan experiences) and I just dont see the blatant face-punching and all around thuggery. To be honest, it is the only drawback for me, as I have played just about every other sport competitively and cant imagine that hockey is just so different so as to have out-and-out fighting be common and acceptable. That being said, I am still absolutely in love with the game and I would really like to learn to skate better (i.e. hockey stops, backward skating) so I can play in an old-man's league at the local YMCA next winter.

Ok, as a new (and currently obsessed) hockey fan, I have a question. So like I said earlier, my 4 year old is totally into hockey, he plays at the local YMCA twice a week, and I am super proud of him. My wife is game for anything, even though she isnt a huge sports fan, she knows how important team sports are to development of kids, so she is on board as well...that being said... Last night I was up watching Hockey on Versus. Bruins and Canadians, when my wife came into the room to talk about the plan for the kids and the family for the rest of the week. Of course, almost on cue, one of the most ridiculous looking fights I have seen in my short hockey fandom breaks out...and my wife wants an explanation. She is appalled by what she is watching and can find no reason for why it is happening...and it keeps happening...different fights every few minute, at one point it looks like the entire teams are fighting. People are bloody. She wants me to explain why it is happening and why it is justified and why it is "allowed". And...I have no answers. She then proceeds to say something along the lines of "I dont want our kids playing Hockey if this is the accepted culture of the sport" or something like this, to which I can only respond that they dont allow it in college and that our kids arent going to be professional hockey players. Still, she want amused. So what is the deal with fighting in hockey? I have to admit, it does look ridiculous.

If the Black Keys did the halftime show I would cry. Mostly because I love them so much and dont want to see them subjected SB halftime. It absolutely devastated me that 'Girl Is On My Mind' was used by a diamond jewelry company over the holidays. It always got my attention because, hey, its the Black Keys awesome! but then I would get depressed because I am one of those annoying music snobs who wants everyone to know I listen to awesome music but gets pissed when everyone starts listening to it as well.

Did Novoselic join the band or is he just contributing as a guest on a song on the next album? It looks like original member Pat Smear is back as a full member, maybe that is what you meant??? It'd be awesome if Novoselic toured with them but I dont think they need two bass players.

Every year people say the Half Time Show stinks and that the commercials weren't as good as most years. I think in reality both are casualties of ridiculously high expectations. After all, Halftime is really just some act trying to cram as much action as possible in about 18 minutes and commercials are just 30-60 seconds long. That being said, I thought Half Time was bad, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, where have you gone? The commercials on the other hand were completely up to par. Doritos and Pepsi Max were the big winners. That Audi Commercial with the guys escaping from the luxurious jail was very good. Coke commercial drawing the sand and the "Tiny Dancer" commercials were great too. All in all, a good night for commercials, but thankfully they were secondary to the great game. I think the commercials got boosted up during a series of terrible games from about 85-94 when the games were rarely if ever close or in question (with apologies to Super Bowls 23 and 25)

I have a feeling this one is going to miss us. I predict we see snow, but nowhere near the 10-20 inches that are predicted.
