  1. liriano will miss all off 2007 after having t ommy john surgery.
  2. I wouldnt touch Marquis with a 50 foot pole. Villanueva and Zach Jackson are both better then he is today for probably 1/20th the cost.
  3. I say let Sheets go via trade or free agency when his time is up and sign Marquis to a market average deal for a pitcher coming off of a season with a 6.00+ ERA and 3 of the past 5 years of ERA over 5.00, to a 4 year 44 million dollar deal. At least we can count on 225 innings of below average innings, which is more than I can say for the EXTREMELY overpaid and disappointing Ben Sheets. Do I really need to put that in blue font?
  4. The new rumor has the Braves sending Adam LaRoche to Anaheim now that they have Rafael Soriano. In return they would receive Chone Figgins and Casey Kotchman. They would then trade or non-tender Marcus Giles, opening up 2b for Figgins. www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_MLB.aspx It sounds like a lot of speculation by rotoworld - something they seem to do a lot this time of year.
  5. Penny for Gallardo is a joke. We may be undervaluing Penny by suggesting Jenkins and a mid level prospect but the Dodger fan is on crack if the thinks Penny, his attitude and his bum shoulder are worth Yovanno Gallardo. I could see Jenkins and Mark Rogers, if Mark Rogers hadnt recently gone the way of Nick Nuegebaur.
  6. With Koskie, Hall, cirillo, Graffanino, and Ryan Braun the last thing we need is another 3b. He's a nice player for what he makes but we have no use for him
  7. Wow, that is the first baseball card I have seen taken at Glamour Shots.
  8. Pencil him into the Bullpen in 2011. He'll be a great set up man.
  9. So should I drop Ethier in my fantasy baseball keeper league then?
  10. What else is new? I wonder how hanging on to Joel Hanrahan, Edwin Jackson and Greg Miller worked out for them.
  11. This is still just a rumor as it is pending on another deal happening.
  12. I would hope so hauser.
  13. Looks like Turnbow is on his way out.
  14. Say hello to Nick Neugebauer's career Mark.
  15. Come on, scolded? This isnt preschool.
  16. Is it cynical of me to believe that the reason Schmidt hasn't said no yet is because then he wouldn't be able to use the Brewers when negotiating with the Dodgers? This is very refreshing to see. Geno should be thrilled.
  17. Easy to trade away Miledge now, after he has had a few rough months in the major leagues. This is why trading prospects can be a good thing sometimes. Because sometimes a prospect is just Ruben Rivera.
  18. I'd take Rowand off of their hands for that. I'd also like to have Zito, but not if meant our bench was made up of Chris Barnwell, Chad Moeller, Luis Lopez, Angel Echavarria and James Mouton.
  19. The rumored Baldelli deal had us trading Capellan, Aquino and Carlos Villanuava

  21. The big difference is that usually we are signing a Leiber type to be our number 2 starter (See Todd Ritchie) but in this case Leiber is going to counted on to anchor the bottom half of the rotation with Vargas. I'd would so much rather have Leiber and Vargas as numbers 4/5 than Jackson/Hendrickson/Helling/Eveland/De La Rosa. Speaking of depth we are sorely lacking in depth for the starting rotation. This trade would go a long way to solving that problem.
  22. I agree with hauser on this one. It isnt like we are locking up guys like Miller, Leiber, Clark and Counsell to huge long term deals. Other than Counsell I can say with 100% certainty that Clark, Leiber, Miller and Graffanino will be off the books for 2008. Therefore they do not really cost us anything after this year. Besides the increase in salary between Jenkins and/or Mench is either zero (Jenkins) or 3.5 million. Leiber would be welcomed to hold down the #4/5 spot in the rotation, and if it meant we could trade Carlos Villanueva in a Rocco Baldelli deal it would be even better.
  23. I echo this statement. A man can only hit F5 so many times in a day.
  24. Florida is offering a deal around pitcher Ricky Nolasco. Is he any good?
