  1. Lol. We're thinking alike. Giolito would be great, but I feel like he's almost a certainty to get scooped up by one of the outside contenders (Reds, Giants, Dbacks, Cubs, etc.)
  2. Boy, wouldn't Matt Moore be a great replacement for a certain someone in the bullpen?
  3. Seems likely given the pitchers on the mound.
  4. He's going to clear waivers due to that price tag. But, once he does, I think the Brewers should be one of the teams involved, as he'd be making league minimum then.
  5. I think we need an option other than playing Turang against LHP, which we don't really have right now. Defense is awesome regardless, but his #s (in a SSS granted) are Wiemer vs. righties esque.
  6. Wiemer's still eligible for the postseason regardless as he's on the 40 man.
  7. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/yankees-release-josh-donaldson.html Yankees just released Josh Donaldson. Calf, which has kept him on the IL, is supposedly fully healed. Still has really good QOC #s. xSLG of .538 this season, in a SSS albeit. Crushes LHP historically and allows you to move Monasterio to 2B. Downside is age and limited positional flexibility. If they're not going to call up Black, then I say absolutely take the chance. Anderson is wasted space on this roster at this point.
  8. I like how we're in the midst of a 9 game winning streak, with CC being almost universally hailed as the best manager in the game, and you still have posters complaining about his lineups and using words like "clueless" in reference to him.
  9. Or Rea/Junk gets the call on Saturday and Black gets the 40 man spot. But I agree your scenario seems far more likely.
  10. Wouldn't be shocked to see Canha at 1B tonight if Santana is unavailable again. Remember, DH will be Contreras due to Caratini catching Burnes. Yelich LF Contreras DH Canha 1B Adames SS Monasterio 3B Frelick/Taylor RF Caratini C Wiemer CF Turang 2B (Like why have Anderson on the roster at this point if he's not going to play against LHP?) If Santana can go, then you'd probably be able to get away with Canha in RF in Wrigley. So, something like: Yelich LF Contreras DH Santana 1B Adames SS Canha RF Monasterio 3B Caratini C Wiemer/Frelick CF Turang 2B I really like the look of that lineup.
  11. A little bit. But I feel better with Uribe and Megill coming along than I would've earlier in the year.
  12. This is the definition of a tight strike zone. One thing I do appreciate though is it's consistent.
  13. Awesome from Peguero. Hope he's putting a rough month behind him.
  14. 82 pitches is a lot for Miley. That's usually around his max.
  15. If we can keep scoring every inning, I predict we'll do quite well tonight.
  16. I didn't know Canha had that kind of power!
  17. I could be wrong, but I doubt it's going to be Rea. He'd have to start tonight to be available for Saturday, and the minors are off on Mondays. Otherwise he'll have gone 10 days since his last start. Teheran still has one more rehab appearance to go. Junk is another option and would also align with his pitching schedule, not to mention already being on the 40 man, but Gasser has earned it over him with his performance over the last several months.
