  1. Wiemer has a .900 OPS against LHP. Frelick doesn't have a hit against a LHP since he hit that HR. Playing the percentages is always a good idea. Better chance of converting a run there with Wiemer hitting against a LHP and with a runner at 2B than if we were to give Frelick one more AB in the game (if he would even get another AB).
  2. I can see why CC wanted to get Wiemer up with a runner at 2B against the lefty. And not exactly a downgrade on defense.
  3. CC said last night how "we got him get him going". Which basically means getting him more opportunities like last night....
  4. Yeah. I can think of a beer league softball pitcher, but nope not another lefty.
  5. Wonder if CC will keep Milner in for Jankowski.
  6. The only thing is he's quickly approaching his career high in innings and has been injured the last two seasons. But, obviously trying to win this game now.
  7. Obviously CC is thinking differently from us lol
  8. Eesh. Get an X-Ray on that. Why I wasn't exactly a huge fan of the Urias trade...
  9. Good. Runs needed against this bunch.
  10. You did well not going to the games. No need to bring that bad luck 😂
  11. You knew that was coming with how Willy's been seeing the ball and making contact the last two games.
  12. Yeah. He's approaching his career high in innings so no need to press it.
  13. Beautiful from Freddy. Too bad that the 40 pitch inning is going to limit him to 5 here. But he's been an ace again in the second half.
  14. When do we talk about adding another year or two or three to Freddy’s contract? Of course, if they wanted to use that $ on Woody thatd be okay, too.
  15. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/blue-jays-designate-paul-dejong-for-assignment.html DFA'd by the Blue Jays a few weeks after they traded for him. Despite how rough Adames has been lately, I don't see it happening for two reasons. One, DeJong just hasn't been that good since 2019 and has been horrific since being traded to the Jays despite a nice start to the season. Two, he's pretty much exclusively played SS since 2018, and Adames is far better defensively than DeJong at SS. In the end, it only makes sense if the Brewers believe DeJong is a better option than Brian Anderson going forward and he can backup at 3B and 2B. I really don't think so, but it's at least debatable given how abysmal Anderson has looked at the plate.
  16. Defense. Toro is not a good fielder, to say the least. Though, I agree about Anderson being on the roster.
  17. I could see Misiorowski taking the "Spencer Strider path". Start your first full year in A ball and end it in the bullpen during a playoff race. Pretty similar pitchers (i.e., piling up an astronomical # of Ks with devastating heaters), with Misiorowski probably having the better stuff/arsenal and Strider having the better command at this stage. Which would put Mis in AAA or the majors to start next season. I'd be for that.
  18. Dunning has the 4th best ERA among qualified starters in the AL (better than Ohtani). He's pretty legit. But he's also underperforming his underlying data by quite a bit.
  19. You could say we partially made up for not drafting Abbott by trading for Gasser.
  20. Rowdy had a higher OPS than Hiura last year in a much larger # of at bats…
  21. Yeah. I just think we're more likely to see Gasser than Misiorowski at this point. I wouldn't be shocked if we did see Mis later on, though.
  22. This has nothing to do with Chafin. And I certainly never said he was Rivera or Hoffman. It has everything to do with Strzlecki simply not being that good, either.
  23. I don't know if they're ready to do that yet. Call up Andrews and start getting Gasser some relief work in the meantime.
