  1. Precisely. And they don't need to with a top 3 farm system in baseball and a young talent transition that's currently underway on the MLB roster.
  2. I could see Misiorowski taking the "Spencer Strider path". Start your first full year in A ball and end it in the bullpen during a playoff race. Pretty similar pitchers (i.e., piling up an astronomical # of Ks with devastating heaters), with Misiorowski probably having the better stuff/arsenal and Strider having the better command at this stage. Which would put Mis in AAA or the majors to start next season. I'd be for that.
  3. Rowdy had a higher OPS than Hiura last year in a much larger # of at bats…
  4. Not happening tonight we would've heard about it by now.
  5. I'll do it for you @rickh150. 2 Hrs tonight, one against a lefty. With Rowdy sucking, I think you have a real case.
  6. I'm just going to say right off the bat I immediately regret my placement of Lara. Got way too caught up with lack of current in-game power. If the Brewers feel comfortable enough to promote him to A+ at 18, that tells me all I need to know. I'd probably insert him right behind Wilken in a rerank.

  8. I hope not. Those guys did their jobs keeping us somewhat afloat while we had major injuries/underperformance from our rotation, but they're probably 5+ ERA guys moving forward. Can't have that in a tight race. If we wanted a 6th starter, Gasser and/or Lauer would be the way to go with their relatively higher upside.
  9. Easily the Cubs. Because we already have the tiebreaker over the Reds and the Reds have been overachieving the whole season and are coming back down to earth. Cubs have a deep lineup and an easy schedule that will give us problems. We'll have a relatively easy schedule, too, once we get past this week, but the division lead will likely go down, if not be erased.
  10. Now, that we're talking about Hader, it makes me wonder which teams are going to be willing to fork over $100 million for a reliever this winter. I wonder if it will be the Cubs. That would set up nicely for them with the talent they have coming up through the minors. They could probably still resign Bellinger, too, if they wanted. Of course, then you have the obvious candidates like the Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, Giants, etc. Looks unlikely he'll be going home to the Orioles or DBacks.
  11. He wants his $100 million paycheck this winter first.
  12. Just like it's a fact David Stearns was making moves for the Mets while still the POBO of the Brewers.... He's still been around. I've personally seen him in the stands a handful of times. But he's got more businesses than just the Brewers to look out for, and he doesn't live in Milwaukee. So, as always, you have little other than pure speculation, when he's also said on multiple occasions that he wants to keep the team within the family. Also, be careful with your word choice. I just happen to be/identify as a "guy", but that's not always the case.
  13. Peguero’s stuff is just a little too hittable sometimes. Uribe’s is virtually unhittable. I’d still use Pegeuro in some high-leverage, but the 7th inning should go to Uribe.
  14. 2nd best OPS among current Brewers last year and this year? That's absolutely not true (Yelich, Contreras, Monasterio, Mitchell all better)...And even if it were, you can't compare Hiura's MLB stats to guys such as Tellez, Adames, etc, who have played both seasons and have seen a much greater # of at-bats. And, again, you know who has had even better numbers at AAA this year than Hiura? Luke Voit....We all know how that turned out. AAA numbers mean relatively little and don't help your argument as much as you think it does. It's fair to ask for an opportunity given how awful our offense has been (though I think he's already been given plenty of opportunities) but this twisting and turning of the facts is getting tiring.
  15. Oh really? Keston literally hasn’t outhit Rowdy since 2019.
  16. Right, now you’ve got Santana and Rowdy. No room for Keston…. Those numbers that you keep pointing to were a small sample size, in which Keston had a plus 40% K rate and was significantly overperforming his xwOBA. Keston had an opportunity to force the Brewers to keep him on the 40 man in ST and he completely blew it, just like he did last September when he was finally given everyday at-bats. And in 2020-2021 when he was handed the starting 2B/1B gigs.
  17. Brewers have Santana now who they didn’t have then.
  18. If Rowdy falters, then I think you have no choice but to give Keston a shot…But for now I just view him as a depth option. Conversely, like some do you just ignore the entire picture and defend Hiura to the highest extent?
  19. You point to last year’s OPS for Keston. Rowdy had a better OPS last season than Keston and the year before that and the year before that. Neither are good defenders, but that right there is why Rowdy’s going to get the shot over Keston. Before Rowdy’s injury in June, he was OPSing over .800. I never talked about Rowdy’s defense. I simply said the Brewers are not going to have more than one DH only type on their roster and Rowdy’s going to get the first shot over Keston.
  20. Rowdy Tellez had a better OPS than Hiura last season (in a much larger # of at bats) and the season before that. He will be returning to DH within the next week or so. His fielding is certainly relevant because you're not going to waste two roster spots on guys who can only DH or play 1B.
  21. Kind of do, though... (or at least have a pretty good idea) 42% K Rate, .334 wOBA vs. .317 xwOBA, 28 wRC+ from 9/1-10/4 (w/ 45% K rate). This conversation reached a "low" a long time ago. And I really don't see the problem, considering a certain poster has long whined about Hiura not getting enough at-bats at the end of the season last year compared to McCutchen, or Adames, etc. I swear some of y'all are related to Keston or something. I don't dislike the guy myself and he's provided us some memorable moments, but he is what he is at this point.
  22. Seeing as we missed the postseason anyways, one thing I will say is I wish the Brewers had given Hiura more at-bats in September last year, as his cumulative season numbers almost certainly would have gone further into the tubes and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
  23. Not only was Hiura hurt when Singleton was called up, but Winker was of course going to get more opportunities than Hiura when we traded for him in the offseason and he was an above average to elite hitter every single season of his career until this year. Whereas Hiura's track record since his rookie season was much more spotty, to the point where the Brewers had little option but to remove him from the 40 man after an atrocious ST.
  24. And I pointed out the reasons to you why Rowdy Tellez is going to get that shot over Hiura. And why Hiura hasn't been called up, yet. If Winker was still DHing, you would have a point, but he's not anymore.
