  1. Doesn't Canha know if you don't hit within your 6 days, people will want to run you out of town.
  2. Well, at least we have one of the best hitters against LHP in baseball on our team.
  3. Kyle Freeland shutting us down regardless of his recent pitching performance. A tale as old as time.
  4. Freeland has been horrific lately, particularly on the road. Now, watch him pitch 7 shutout innings.
  5. I think it is worth noting that people were complaining about Turang not playing versus LHP earlier in the season but now he plays against them regularly. It’s part of the development process. Frelick has been outstanding with how CC is currently using him and TT is heating up. And as soon as Freeland exits the game, Frelick will be in there.
  6. Whoo, boy. Things about to get heated in here....
  7. He's definitely not unwilling. McCalvy talked about how he's tried a lot of adjustments but just can't seem to make anything stick so far.
  8. I would be skeptical of the team planning on keeping Mitchell over Wiemer and Frelick. Mitchell's underlying data and injury history scream sell-high compared to Frelick, who is basically as sure of a thing with the bat as we've seen coming from our farm over the past decade.
  9. When Tyrone Taylor has been better in his major league career against LHP than Frelick was in the minors this year, you can see why he did it. I don't think Frelick will be used as a strict platoon bat. Let's calm down and give it time. Because Frelick has been outstanding with the way CC is using him.
  10. Except CC was limited by the fact that Burnes was starting and Caratini is his personal catcher. Otherwise, he would've probably moved Yelich to DH, and Frelick would've been in the OF. It's a higher priority to get William Contreras in the lineup than Frelick. Let's just relax considering Frelick is not even 20 games into his MLB career. I think he'll get end up getting his fair share of ABs against LHP.
  11. Counsell is also trying to win games in the here and now, and has to make the decisions that he believe will maximize the team's run-scoring potential. Frelick is not going to be a strict platoon bat. I can pretty much guarantee you that.
  12. Saying I said Wiemer is an elite hitter is interesting.
  13. Well, you were already wrong about him being our 2nd best player. Where would you have put him? You don't think a .655 OPS against LHP means anything compared to the other options that were available to CC?
  14. How so? Wiemer is an elite hitter against LHP, so you're not taking him out. Tyrone Taylor, who played RF, has a career OPS vs. LHP in the majors of .725, which is a lot better than Frelick's in the minors this year. DH wasn't an option either that night as Contreras needed to be in the lineup with Caratini catching Burnes. They're playing him fine.
  15. Second best player? Did William Contreras die? For as good as Frelick is, he only had a .655 OPS against LHP in the minors this year. Wiemer, conversely, has a .931 OPS vs. LHP in the MAJOR leagues. Also, I'm pretty sure he played in that game anyways and knocked in the tying run.
  16. You were told why. For as good as Frelick has been, Wiemer sports an OPS of .931 against LHP, and we faced a LHP that night.... I'm pretty sure they don't intend to use Frelick as a purely platoon bat, so I wouldn't make much of it.
  17. 2019 Keston Hiura. Thankfully, their ability to make contact is night and day.
  18. Doesn't Sal know he's not supposed to have power?
  19. Well, at least Arnold upgraded the catching position. Night and day from last year.
  20. The positive regression was always coming with his OPS nearing the 300s...
  21. I think you have me confused for a different poster.
  22. Not Wilson. He’ll give up a couple bombs and just force Devin and Payamps into the game.
  23. Without the Tovar HR, we're looking at a perfect 6 innings with 12 Ks from Freddy.
