  1. McMahon is definitely high on my list. He’s not a star with the bat like Arenado was/is, but he plays GG defense at 3B and is an upgrade over pretty much every other hitter in our lineup save for Yelich and Contreras.
  2. Well, there’s your answer people.
  3. Oh I get it. I just don’t find it to be that misleading or amusing. And I also see that the very thing you’re accusing me of doing (i.e., nitpicking) is what you’re doing to another poster’s statement.
  4. Plus the White Sox forum said Black AND Quero, which is in fact a massive overpay according to BTV.
  5. “I’m a little amused by the comment that Abbott has been lights out against anyone but Milwaukee”. The stats literally back that up so I don’t see what there is to be amused about. What’s humorous is that the very thing you’re accusing me of doing (i.e. nitpicking) is precisely what you’re doing in this situation.
  6. I think the Brewers have a better handle on Ashby's situation than we do. With his contract, they wouldn't put him out there unnecessarily.
  7. Aaron Ashby says hello. Plus at least one of our SPs is going to be moved to the bullpen when Woody and Miley come back.
  8. Chourio's ceiling is top 5/10 player in baseball. The Brewers haven't had one of those homegrown since Braun. Those other prospects, as nice as they are, don't have that ceiling. I care about talent more than position.
  9. Trout (was) twice the player Yelich is. That's all that WAR total you're highlighting means. The current iteration of Trout (which is what really matters in assessing trade value), has missed 190 games and counting over the last three seasons while not quite being at the same peak with the bat (137 wRC+ this year vs. 176 in 2022 and 189 in 2021). Meanwhile, Yelich is having a resurgent season and is t7 in all the majors in fWAR. All this with Trout being owed an extra 3 years and $147 million in compensation, which will pay him to his age 40 season. With his increasing injury frequency, that eats into what ever advantage Trout has statistically over Yelich.
  10. Abbott vs. Brewers: 4.41 ERA, 1-2 record, 8 total runs runs given up Abbott vs. rest of baseball: 1.15 ERA, 4-0 record, 5 total runs given up It may be just one start in particular where the Brewers lit him up, but that statement is still factually correct.
  11. I think you gotta be willing to discuss everyone except Chourio (obviously) and probably Mis. You don't need to trade someone such as Black, Quero, etc. but you gotta at least be willing to discuss them otherwise the conversations you have with teams are going to be shortened. And if there's a good value deal to be had involving those guys, you need to consider pulling the trigger. That said, I don't ultimately expect any of our top 6 or 7 prospects to be moved. But I want Arnold to be aggressive in upgrading this offense because our pitching and defense are arguably World Series-caliber.
  12. If it involves Chourio in anyway I’d absolutely hate it. Probably same with Mis as he’s right there with Skenes as the highest upside arm in the minors. And we’re set to lose Burnes/Woodruff here in short order. Quero would be a slightly different story due to the presence of Contreras. I could possibly find a way to get excited despite how high I am on Quero.
  13. I see little basis for a 60 point jump in BA right now.
  14. Oh, I'm by no means labeling him or writing him off at this point. It would be pretty silly to do so considering he's only a rookie. But I'm seeing some pretty ominous warning signs from him at the major league level that have me beginning to question whether he will ever be able to hit enough to be more than a replacement level player.
  15. Wouldn't shock me at all. He's pretty much a lock at this point to end up at Nashville before the end of the season, so it's not like he would be skipping AAA entirely (like Soto).
  16. Yeah. A lot of people are assuming we can just go ahead and trade Adames in the offseason and install Turang at SS and not skip a beat. I don't see that at all. At this point, I'm not sure if Turang can be a starting SS on a contending team, unless you have multiple elite bats at other positions (which we don't right now).
  17. No, because Jesse Winker is coming in to save us.
  18. I'm sure if we couldn't get a run off of any of the other guys the Reds are trotting out there, we'll finally score against Diaz.
  19. Or the other time he was up with a runner at 3 and less than two outs...
  20. Another strikeout for Turang coming here...
  21. Gotta love how Frelick just controls the strike zone. Polar opposite of Adames lol
