  1. Sal Frelick telling Fangraphs to go take a hike.
  2. Nice job with, Arcia, Brewers hitting development staff.
  3. I could see Chourio going to AAA as prep for possibly making the OD roster next year. Brewers would get the comp pick if he wins ROY.
  4. Teheran’s next start can be taken by Robert Gasser.
  5. I’m not convinced. They have options.
  6. Thanks for all the memories, Teheran:
  7. Yeah, forget about Houser, Tehran isn’t even a major league arm. His luck has run out.
  8. Turang hasn’t been that much better at the plate, though. Wiemer and Turang in the same lineup is killing us. Why I’ve been calling for Urias to get recalled, too.
  9. Ughh we do not need Turang in the lineup. Gotta give Toro the opportunities at this point.
  10. Yeah, Brice Turang needs to go back down I think. We can get good defense from Urias at 2B. Can't have him and Wiemer in the lineup together.
  11. Well, if there was any question about whose rotation spot Miley should take...
  12. 2023? That’s entirely AAA #s. Remember Luke Voit? He’s homered in 5 straight games in AAA and has a higher OPS than Hiura…That meant absolutely nothing when his spot came up in the order for us.
  13. Yes, and you’re completely ignoring what we saw from 2020 to 2021 and the 42% K rate last year or AAA #s since returning from injury. That’s the context that is missing from your posts whenever you post Hiura’s stats from a single game or his OPS in 20 games at DH, etc.
  14. Stats with context. How refreshing.
  15. I will say that I think wRC+ overcompensates for Coors Field. McMahon may not be the .800 OPS hitter he is currently, but I doubt he suddenly becomes a sub .750 OPS hitter at Am Fam. McMahon would still be an upgrade over what we've been getting at the plate from 3B and would help with our run prevention philosophy.
  16. So now outside of the first round the baseball draft is mostly "luck"? Just when you think you've heard it all... No, it's a product of good scouting/organizational philosophy and shrewd maneuvering around the bonus pool. Corbin Burnes wasn't a Cy Young pitcher when the Brewers' drafted him, but he fit a profile (namely high velocity and spin rate) that this organization has prioritized since the Melvin to Stearns turnover. And then they DEVELOPED that profile into a Cy Young winner. On the opposite end, you have organizations like the Angels and Cardinals (on the pitching side) who have targeted their pitchers and had it blown up in their faces for the most part. Sure, there's luck involved, particularly health, but that is far, far from the entire story.
  17. I would say it would come at the expense of Turang and Miller.
  18. As you know, I'm not one who believes the Hader trade was the reason the team missed the postseason last year. But talk about a shift from last deadline.
  19. Huh? The only first round picks they've drafted and developed into anything in the last 10 years are Taylor Ward and Reid Detmers, a pitcher. Jury is still out on Zach Neto as he's only played 60 games. Matt Thaiss isn't exactly a shining success story with his career .1 fWAR. They didn't even have first round picks in 2012 and 2013 due to their free agent signings.... But yes, "without credibility". And all the while spending hundreds of millions more in payroll and having zero postseason appearances to show for since 2014. They're universally known as one of the worst run organizations by everyone except for you. Something to consider...
  20. Justin Wilson and Aaron Ashby seem like pretty good bullpen adds to me.
  21. Well, I'm glad that you're at least admitting now they upgraded 1B! Luis Urias is smoking hot in AAA right now and has been a 110 wRC+ hitter the last two seasons. That would upgrade 2B and/or 3B. I'll give you DH. What we've been getting from Winker isn't close to good enough. We'll see what they do there. A Ruf/Rowdy platoon, assuming they're back in relatively short order, wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, though. LF is obviously set. CF is set between Wiemer, Frelick, and Perkins. They could use another corner OF bat, perhaps Grichuk? I personally think they need at least one more above average bat (Grichuk, Candelario, etc.). We'll see what they do.
  22. Yeah, I think he's earned his way back to the majors already. I would start him in the IF right now alongside Monasterio and Turang.
  23. How on earth can you be freaking out when there's still 5 whole days to go until the deadline? The fact that we got someone this far out is pretty surprising and a good job by Arnold. Come back to me on Tuesday at 5 PM, and then we can talk about whether they did enough.
