  1. They would be pretty silly to start trading away their prospects this early in their rebuild. Abbott is good, but he’s still a rookie and he’s going to be running into a career high in in innings/innings limit sooner than later. Other than him, their pitching is suspect to horrendous. Like bottom 5 in baseball bad.
  2. If there was any doubt about the Cardinals and their priorities…They’re donezo
  3. 20 odd days does not a bullpen define. For the entire season, the Cubs' bullpen is 15th in ERA and 23rd in WPA. The definition of mediocre...
  4. Okay D-Will let's go. Don't want this to get to Swanson and Bellinger.
  5. Yeah. Brice just isn't a major league hitter at this point.
  6. Not really. Schoop had a key grand slam late that season against the Giants.
  7. Hendricks isn't "really, really good anymore".
  8. Turang's bat is going to be a problem until he becomes more patient, makes more contact, and/or decides to hit the ball harder. I think he's gone a bit too extreme with his adjustments from last year in AAA.
  9. Good god. Fulmer's command is shaky and this team is swinging early in the count at pitches out of the zone...
  10. Huge with where our pitching situation is at. Too bad the 3rd inning happened, too.
  11. The Cubs do, in fact, have a mediocre bullpen...
  12. Fulmer's throwing pitches that are nowhere near the zone and the first thing Adames does is swing at a pitch up and in....
  13. True. It's just that scoring opportunities don't get much clearer than that inning, particularly for this offense.
  14. Couldn't even get the ball out of the infield...That's probably the game right there.
  15. Turang continues to underwhelm with the bat. Some poor swing decisions.
  16. Yes, he was having a continuation of his second-half control issues from last year. But he's seemingly fixed that (only 4 BBs in June) and has been outstanding for a month-plus now.
  17. I wouldn’t put it past Gasser to befuddle the Reds for a day. They’ve been a hot lineup for the past month or so, but they’re still very young and they’re not the 20s Yankees.
  18. They’re throwing Houser on Wednesday, so it’s clear that they’re sticking with it into the break. Best thing would be to come up with a fake injury for Teheran and call up Gasser.
