    Yes, he was having a continuation of his second-half control issues from last year. But he's seemingly fixed that (only 4 BBs in June) and has been outstanding for a month-plus now.

    I wouldn’t put it past Gasser to befuddle the Reds for a day. They’ve been a hot lineup for the past month or so, but they’re still very young and they’re not the 20s Yankees.

    They’re throwing Houser on Wednesday, so it’s clear that they’re sticking with it into the break. Best thing would be to come up with a fake injury for Teheran and call up Gasser.

    I think a split with the Cubs (due to the pitching matchups) and 2/3 from the Reds is a reasonable outcome here. Would be fine with that heading into the break.

Spoiler: he got into a lot of bad habits from 2021-2022 and ended up changing his swing early in the season.     No. Coming into today Yelich had a 2.5 fWAR, whereas Olson was at 2.4. Not that Olson shouldn't have made it, because he's been amazing. Just that Olson was considered a lock, so it's kind of disturbing how Yelich couldn't get in over Lourdes Gurriel Jr with a better fWAR than Matt Olson.

    Very true. Should have prefaced by saying this McCutchen with Contreras would solve a lot of our issues against LHP.
