  1. Huge with where our pitching situation is at. Too bad the 3rd inning happened, too.
  2. The Cubs do, in fact, have a mediocre bullpen...
  3. Fulmer's throwing pitches that are nowhere near the zone and the first thing Adames does is swing at a pitch up and in....
  4. True. It's just that scoring opportunities don't get much clearer than that inning, particularly for this offense.
  5. Couldn't even get the ball out of the infield...That's probably the game right there.
  6. Turang continues to underwhelm with the bat. Some poor swing decisions.
  7. Yes, he was having a continuation of his second-half control issues from last year. But he's seemingly fixed that (only 4 BBs in June) and has been outstanding for a month-plus now.
  8. I wouldn’t put it past Gasser to befuddle the Reds for a day. They’ve been a hot lineup for the past month or so, but they’re still very young and they’re not the 20s Yankees.
  9. They’re throwing Houser on Wednesday, so it’s clear that they’re sticking with it into the break. Best thing would be to come up with a fake injury for Teheran and call up Gasser.
  10. Pixie dust has run out. You know it when you’re giving up consecutive RBI hits to Hoerner and Barnhart. It’s Robert Gasser szn, folks.
  11. Let the writers and the Commissioners' office decide together. It should be based on merit, not a popularity or ballot-stuffing contest.
  12. Well, we're going to have to score some runs today.
  13. I think a split with the Cubs (due to the pitching matchups) and 2/3 from the Reds is a reasonable outcome here. Would be fine with that heading into the break.
  14. This article explains everything and is the most open Yelich has been on his struggles since signing the extension. Spoiler: he got into a lot of bad habits from 2021-2022 and ended up changing his swing early in the season. Good for him. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2023/07/01/christian-yelich-opens-up-on-whats-fueled-a-return-to-all-star-play/70374809007/
  15. They need to take away fan and player voting privileges.
  16. No. Coming into today Yelich had a 2.5 fWAR, whereas Olson was at 2.4. Not that Olson shouldn't have made it, because he's been amazing. Just that Olson was considered a lock, so it's kind of disturbing how Yelich couldn't get in over Lourdes Gurriel Jr with a better fWAR than Matt Olson.
  17. Devin obviously well-deserving. Yelich absolutely robbed though by Castellanos and Gurriel. Yelich has a better fWAR than Matt Olson...
  18. Nice job by Rea working around the leadoff error.
  19. Very true. Should have prefaced by saying this McCutchen with Contreras would solve a lot of our issues against LHP.
  20. DFA'd by Colorado with an ERA above 11. Red Sox taking a flier on him.
