  1. Kirk is literally an all-star with four years of control remaining…It’s crazy to think we could get a guy like him without including a player the caliber of Mitchell
  2. This might turn out to be Mbappe's tournament.
  3. Not only doesn't that Devin trade not make sense given that he has three whole years of control left, but it's also not even close to enough for one of the best relievers in baseball. The Twins would have to give us Rodriguez, Julien, or Lewis to make a trade worth it. And even then, we'd be decimating our bullpen.
  4. France going gangbusters after conceding the opening goal. Man they are so good. Missing Benzema, Kante, and Pogba, too.
  5. Yeah. Berhalter really limits what this young team can do with his questionable tactics and in-game decision making. Should have won the game though if Zimmerman doesn't commit a stupid foul for a penalty. I still think we're the favorites to advance as this Wales team isn't that good and they could very easily lose or draw against Iran in their next game. But it's definitely closer to 50/50 than it would have been had they won. England is going to be such a different game. We're going to have to try to CONCACAF them.
  6. Not a fatal result. But a disappointing one.
  7. Gregg is so underwhelming. Wright, Acosta, Yedlin, and Morris as your subs???? Seriously...
  8. Ughhh Zimmerman.
  9. No Gio, Gregg?
  10. Wales pulling a CONCACAF here going after Pulisic
  11. Need to take back control of the game. Or get that second goal.
  12. Not always. I remember the Urias/Grisham/Lauer trade was made like the day before Thanksgiving. And then Avi Garcia was signed shortly thereafter.
  13. Great first half. Intensity is so much better, granted that's to be expected in the World Cup. Looking forward to seeing what Gio and Aaronson can bring as subs. That's the sort of luxury this team has never had before in its history.
  14. Finally. Lol Bale
  15. WEAH!!!!!! Credit to Puli and Sargeant.
  16. Screw Qatar. These officials are so crooked.
  17. A goal for the US could break it open here. Wales not playing well at all.
  18. My first sub would be Gio for Weah. We need some more creativity in the final third to break down Wales' defense.
  19. All Qatari officiating crew...Probably some more bribing going on.
  20. Gregg did his job and finally put together an ideal-type lineup. Only ways I think it could be improved is Gio Reyna at RW opposite Pulisic and Miles Robinson at CB. But injuries obviously have obviously made that pretty much impossible. Hoping to see them come out significantly more inspired than they did against Japan and Saudi Arabia in September. They cannot afford to lose this game.
  21. Yeah. You don’t want to put yourself in a position where you need a result against England. I’m less confident about that game after watching them dismantle Iran today. It seems like they may have gotten their act together.
  22. Woah. Just relying on FIP to assess Lauer's performance over the past two years is dangerous. FIP should ideally be used in concert with other measures, such as ERA+/-, etc. So, by ERA-, for example, Lauer finished: 30th among pitchers with at least 90 IP in 2021, a high #2. 61st among pitchers with at least 90 IP in 2022, a high #3. By actual production over the past two years, Lauer is ranked 39th, just behind Gerrit Cole and Chris Bassett, and good enough for a #2 starter. So, split the difference with FIP and Lauer has indeed been an elite #4 starter for us and would be a solid #3/#2 on a lot of teams.

  24. Job has been posted. Jim Leonhard is your permanent head coach. Just as I suspected all along.
  25. Yes, but to the point where every other thread becomes about the Hader trade in some form or another? I don't know. Seems like an open question...
