  1. Okay, we're going to need Gio Reyna in this game Gregg with Pulisic out.
  2. They do have some. Jesus Ferreira, Cristian Roldan, Ricardo Pepi, etc. Problem is we have to compete with Mexico for these players as well since they tend to have dual eligibility. E.g. Julian Araujo, David Ochoa.
  3. He was just barely offsides. And I mean JUST BARELY.
  4. Captain America!
  5. Someone please! Put it in the net!
  6. We're getting the chances. But we're gonna need to find a way to put the ball in the back of the net at some point.
  7. This is it. Win or go home. I think they score early and then add one late for a 2-0 victory. Predicted goal scorers: Sargent and Pulisic. MotM: Tyler Adams (who else?). Interesting change in the starting lineup with CCV over Zimmerman. Zimmerman has been shakier than usual this World Cup, especially with his passing, so I can't say I'm opposed. Nice to have some more speed at center-back next to Ream, as well. Just hope CCV is up to the task. This game will define the Berhalter era. Lose or draw and he's almost certainly canned and will remain the subject of mocking amongst the fanbase. Win and he probably still won't be re-upped, but his tenure will be looked at as a huge success given that he got us back to the World Cup and helped set a path for even greater success for this young generation heading into 2026.
  8. And there's your highest-paid state employee...lol
  9. That trade with the Rays is how you completely wreck a franchise....
  10. Oh well. As much as I would have loved to have him on the Brewers, it's probably for the best that we not make three year investments in 36 year olds....
  11. I guess I just don’t see any way LaFleur gets fired…
  12. Hoping the Packers’ inevitable thrashing tonight in Philly spurs LaFleur to start making back-channel contact….
  13. I’m stunned tbh. I can tell you that the “Wisconsin way” is a real thing that has pervaded the culture here since Barry arrived. Once the job was posted after the win over Nebraska last week, it seemed to me that Leonard’s hire was a mere formality given how ingrained into this culture both he and McIntosh are. For McIntosh to spurn the heir-apparent and go outside the family to hire perhaps the hottest up-and-coming name in the sport is so utterly ballsy and a pure master stroke IMO. There is absolutely no excuse for the way this team has played since 2020, and Leonhard, while far from the main cause, is nevertheless a part of that.
  14. FWIW, Wheeler was a 30 year old pitcher when he was signed to a five year deal by the Phillies a couple of offseasons ago, and look how that deal has turned out for them...Same thing with the Mets and DeGrom before that. I'd much rather extend a certified ace pitcher in Woodruff than a high strikeout, sub .300 OBP hitter in Adames.

  16. It doesn't matter. You have to be consistent. Did you watch the end of the game? The Kansas player literally flopped on Tyler Wahl's late layup.....
  17. Essigian is Tyler Herro 2.0. Herro maybe able to create a little more on offense, but virtually identical during their respective freshman years of college imo.
  18. Tale of two halfs lol. Though, I can't say I didn't have similar thoughts at the time. Beating Dayton, who was ranked until last week, and losing by 1 to Kansas is nothing to be ashamed of.
  19. That's how the ball bounces sometimes, though the refs deserve condemnation for their performance. Terrific effort against the defending national champions and #3 team in the country. If Hepburn gets his act together, this team will be competing for the BIG title once again.
  20. "They started it." Seriously. Are you a child? If you actually look at what was said, you will see that my initial response was not directed at anything having to do with your specific opinion on the trade. Rather, you were questioning why other posters didn't happen to see things your way, exclaiming that the truth is "usually simple". I replied that the truth is "generally in between two extremes", as represented by your opinion that the trade was purely a salary dump and in contrast to other posters' opinions that the trade was made to obtain valuable pitching depth and pave the way for our young outfield prospects. So, no, I never said that your opinion on this topic wasn't based on reality. It was, instead, the callous manner in which you were dismissing other peoples' opinions and claiming that the truth is "usually simple" that elicited my subsequent response. Again, I realize you're new here, so you may not understand the rules. But taking things to a personal level, in particular, bringing up someone's family, is totally out of bounds. This forum is for baseball, and baseball discussion only. Hence, my encouragement to you to "think more before you post."
  21. My family and I are fine thank you very much. I realize you’re new around here, but I would strongly encourage you to think more before you post.
  22. Canada is a fun team. They outplayed Belgium today despite the loss. Should be a heck of a rivalry in CONCACAF between our two "golden generations".
  23. From MLBTR, "Rather, the Major League deal was likely reflective of considerable interest from other parties on minor league contracts." I never asserted that other teams were keen to sign him to a major league contract...But that there was likely appreciable interest in the player's skillset and that the Brewers offered him a major league contract to ensure that they were able to sign him.
  24. This! Thank you.
  25. I'll trust the guys who actually do this for a living and watch these players in-person over what some guy on Brewer-fanatic thinks doing a quick google search.
