  1. And yet, he's the worst Wisconsin QB in decades...
  2. What a game goin on in Philly rn...Seesaw affair with a lot of bombs.
  3. BIG West title still means something. At the very least, we would be able to say we had our worst season in years and still were better than Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and co. Also, it's a fun time down in Indy, as I was there for 2017 and 2019.
  4. Yeah, I needed to see today after the step back last week. I think he's got control of the locker room now, after he issued the ultimatum to the players.
  5. Last week's loss is such a shame because we would've had a legitimate shot at going to Indy...
  6. I think we can say he's better than the D3 WIAC QBs, too,
  7. Most impressive victory since Iowa last year, or Michigan in 2020, or Minnesota in 2019, off the top of my head.
  8. Another great performance from Mertz. He's much improved from last year, with the boneheaded decisions becoming increasingly rare. 1st TD pass was something none of our QBs since Wilson could do. 2nd one wasn't that easy either.
  9. This is Wisconsin football. Beating up on the likes of Purdue in the trenches.
  10. FWIW, I would consider changing the name of the thread to the Burnes/Woodruff trade thread as Stearns will surely field calls for both of them.
  11. In light of Stearns' comments about retaining the core and going for it, combined with the fact that the FO is still reeling from backlash to the Hader deal, I don't think a Burnes trade is particularly likely this offseason. Baseball insiders, such as Ken Rosenthal, have essentially said just as much. Would probably peg it at a 15-20% chance. Stearns will listen, as he always does (and should), but it will take prospective trade partners, such as the Jays, Orioles, and Dodgers, paying an absolute premium. Think of Moreno/Tiedemann, Rodriguez/Holliday, and Cartaya/Miller as starting points.
  12. Badgers already fired their HC (as deserved), and most fans/alums, like myself, have accepted that the team is in a rebuilding phase and are just simply looking for growth over the course of the rest of the season. As for the Brewers, you haven't seen a single call to fire CC/Stearns or blow the team up come from my keyboard, or that of the vast majority of posters here. It's only a few loud ones who don't like to think rationally much like yourself with regard to Graham Mertz.
  13. Compared to the mountains of statistical evidence you've provided...
  14. Uh, no...His PFF grade is even better than Michigan's starter JJ McCarthy. Not that I would necessarily take Mertz over McCarthy, but still. You're a troll and a Badger-hater. Please stop spewing complete nonsense.
  15. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. You're actually saying that Troy Schroeder of UW Steven's Point, with a rating of 87.3 against OTHER D3 TEAMS is better than Mertz, who has rating of 157.7 in the second-best conference in all of CFB. Now, you're just trolling....
  16. The gurus at PFF literally do nothing but watch film and grade players. Mertz is still the 5th ranked QB in the BIG. with one of the highest "big throw percentages" in all of CFB...
  17. In the Hader thread yesterday, there was literally someone (one of the newer accounts) who told posters to "quit using stats to back up a statement"....
  18. There's a reason there's talk of converting some of the vast parking space around AFF into an entertainment/"beer" district. Those are becoming significant revenue generators for professional sports teams. It makes sense, as there's little for 365-day entertainment in the area immediately surrounding AFF. It doesn't have to be the Deer District, but it could serve a nice little niche for people who don't want to venture all the way downtown and have to find parking, etc.
  19. Some of us are actually fans/alumni and have a pretty darn good idea of what currently ails the program....Graham Mertz is down on the list atm...
  20. There's hating on Graham Mertz, and there's whatever this discussion has turned into...200 QBs, including all of D2 and D3 WIAC, are better than the third ranked passer in the BIG????....SMH
  21. Actually, you're forgetting the D3 QB he played against. So, it's more like 151 QBs
