  1. At least Hiura was punishing meatballs when he was able to make contact earlier in the year. Now he's not even doing that.
  2. Now Now. Let's keep this about the game.
  3. Still waiting for our best hitter AKA Ted Williams Jr. to actually, you know, start hitting.
  4. It's a super combination with his elite defense.
  5. Counsell hasn't treated him well enough.
  6. Good old Kkkkkkkkeston. But strikeouts are no different than any other out!!
  7. Again, while I like Mitchell, Frelick would have been a better call-up in the immediate term...
  8. Waiting for the Stearns-Mets references...
  9. Must be nice to be the Mets, and just spend your way into World Series contention.
  10. I'm somewhere between likely, which is greater than 50%, and improbable, which is less than 10% or so. So, if that's what Robocaller is saying, then yes I disagree. As for your comment, I just don't see much of an effect, save for maybe the Phillies and Astros the last week of the season.
  11. Maybe the Phillies have started the choking process by getting swept in Atlanta this weekend? One can hope.
  12. Do I expect it? No. But it's more than possible. I just don't entirely agree with your premise that the Phillies and Padres will be aided by easier than expected schedules due to their opponents that are/or are essentially locks for the playoffs taking it easy.
  13. The Padres play the Cardinals starting tomorrow, and the Cardinals are going to go all-out to win as they haven't clinched anything yet. The Dodgers have been clinched since last week (though they still need to clinch a first round bye), and they've still won every game but one, which is in line with their regular season performance thus far. Not to mention they have injured pitchers like Gonsolin that they need to get back up to speed for the playoffs. I wouldn't expect much of an impact if at all in those cases from having their playoff spots virtually locked up.
  14. I think the reason they wanted him to start today is because it sets him up to start on regular rest in game 162 should they still be in contention by then.
  15. Moving Adames to 3B would be a terrible decision as he's now firmly established himself as one of the premier defensive shortstops in the game. Plus, Turang's bat plays better at 2B anyways.
  16. I would say he's starting to do that with his last two starts, especially the one against the Giants. Really, it's been one or two misplaced pitches that have haunted him throughout the last month or so.
  17. Two division titles during this run, which is just as much as they accomplished in their entire history prior to Stearns' and Counsell's arrival and also makes the "watering down of the playoffs" argument irrelevant...
  18. I expect them to miss the playoffs. But I will still be cheering hard for them to do so. They're playing better and will need to continue that going forward.
  19. They've been playing good ball over the last week and a half or so. Whether or not they'll be able to make up the ground they need remains to be seen. Injuries have really gutted the rotation.
  20. I mean, the games played before 6-1 matter, too. Or would you say the Yankees are a below .500 team because that's how they've played for a couple months now?
  21. I mean, yeah, but a .500 team is a .500 team and the Brewers, regardless of if they make the playoffs or not, are poised to be easily above a .500 team.
  22. How are they a .500 team if they're 10 games above .500?
  23. Keston has had to earn his way into regular playing time since he's been so bad for the past couple years to the point where he lost his everyday spot. Rowdy hasn't had to since he's largely produced in his role over the past year and a half. It's not that hard of a concept.
  24. As per usual, your posts are grounded in fiction instead of fact. Do I need to point you to the posts I've made where I've literally said that McCutchen is done.
