  1. Yes, he wasn't quite as strong as hoped. But he's got incredible stuff and is still developing, just as Burnes and Peralta were in 2019. You may remember that.
  2. And this is what I call a bunch of non-sense because you aren't even listening to what I said I actually meant by my statement when I made it. But whatever. As I said, Hiura is a high first-round draft pick/former top prospect who is supposed to be one of our superstar hitters alongside Yelich. He has failed in that regard and is instead a borderline major league player because he's also really bad on defense. Finally, I've indeed called out what you describe as the other "crappy performances" on this team, including the regression from the bullpen and the starters, some of which was caused by injury, some of which wasn't. But the 71 below replacement-level innings from Alexander (as well as those from Ch Chi, etc.) sure didn't help things.
  3. I actually agree about McCutchen's at-bats, but the problem is management can't rely on Hiura either because he can't make contact to save his life. His numbers were unsustainable and that has largely borne itself out over the last month or so when every ball he's actually made contact with doesn't leave the ballpark. I'm hoping Stearns (or Arnold) can find us better options in the offseason, because I don't see Hiura suddenly chopping the necessary 8% or so off his K rate. He also has barely walked lately, too, which a guy who strikes out as often as he does cannot afford to do.
  4. Yes, because you are the expert on what I personally meant to say. After listening to the same few people on here incessantly talk him up over the past few months despite the emerging warning signs, it's fitting that he has now done absolutely nothing during the stretch run and to top it off had a crucial base-running mistake which cost the team two runs today in a virtual must-win game. He's a former first round pick who can't make contact to save his life and is a huge negative on defense. Him and Yelich not performing like the "elite" hitters they were supposed to be is a significant part of our offensive woes over the last few years. The regression from the bullpen this year has likewise been part of it, I will give you that.
  5. Terrible flag. He was thrown into the kicker.
  6. You don't think they would have gone for it at the 1 yard line? That's what Lafleur usually does.
  7. I think we should just head into the second-half here.
  8. Walker forced it. Great start to his career.
  9. That's what good teams do after mistakes.
  10. So, someone misrepresents what I said. And I'm not supposed to respond and tell them what I actually meant. Gotcha!
  11. He's done. Both him and Hiura won't be on this team next year. Though, he did play a major role in winning the game on Friday, which is more than Hiura has done lately. But they're both bad players who should be gone.
  12. He made some crucial mistakes today. I sure as heck don't "hate" the guy. I've been cheering hard for him throughout his Brewers' career, and thought that his swing adjustments this offseason could be a turning point for him after a hot spring training. But at this point I've just come to accept that he won't ever live up to the hype due to a 40% K rate. Or is ragging on Yelich only allowed here?
  13. And who is this hitter that I've pimped the entire season? lol McCutchen??? I've said for awhile now that he's done. And I wasn't even a fan of the signing to begin with. So, you might want to check your math on that one.
  14. Or maybe Hiura's running error costing us two runs was a marking point of the end of the season, too. If you want to get very technical, then okay, and all power to you. But what you went ahead to say is not close to what I meant.
  15. Did I say he was solely (or even significantly) responsible for the end of the season? I don't think I did.
  16. Figures that a screw-up from Hiura would mark the effective end of the season.
  17. Literally every Mets starter has been good this year. Definitely have a "pulse". Also, #2 offense in MLB over the last month or so, and #8 on the season.
  18. Pheww. I hope we show no interest in bringing Boxberger back this offseason. He's been great for us in general, but it just feels like he's starting his downslide.
  19. Boxberger against the top of the Reds' order makes me nervous.
  20. And the Mets' pitchers, too, other than Scherzer. 2nd highest scoring offense in baseball over the last few weeks. #8 on the season. But sure.
  21. Let's do damage against the Reds' bullpen now.
  22. They hit the Yankees' pitchers around pretty good last weekend, including Cole.
  23. Hey, they've been the second-best scoring offense in baseball over the past few weeks. Lodolo is a good pitcher and we should have two more runs against him.
