  1. I don't think it's cherry picking to point out a guy has been our best hitter for the better part of two months when you want to put him on the bench.
  2. 133 WRC+ from June 1st to July 31st....Alternatively, the Brewers could be playing in the World Series and you would find a way to label them a bad team.
  3. His WRC+ from June 1st to July 31st was 133....But go ahead with your narrative.
  4. Yeah, let's bench the guy who has raked this summer in favor of a guy who strikes out almost half of the time....And Brosseau is needed to play the infield against LHP.
  5. Upside means virtually nothing when you're walking as many hitters as Kelly has been throughout his minor league career. That's a one way ticket to the bullpen or out of the major league's altogether. He still has an opportunity to fix his control issues, but the likelihood that he eventually does so and turns into an effective major league pitcher let a lone a top of the rotation starter is quickly decreasing.
  6. I am sorry for breaking your heart. But it's most certainly not a given that Frelick would immediately give us superior production to Yelich. Despite his continued power drought, Yelich, just by virtue of his ability to get on base and run the bases well, has been one of the most valuable left fielders in baseball this year by WAR. Frelick, while a great prospect, is entirely unproven at the MLB level and would likely experience his fair share of growing pains.
  7. We're on the hook for his contract until someone claims him off waivers. And no one, not even the Dodgers or Yankees, is going to sacrifice their own financial flexibility to take that on. It just doesn't happen.
  8. No team is claiming him at his salary. And in doing so, you would piss off Yelich. So, no, there's not really any upside to putting Yelich on waivers.
  9. You should probably compare Kelly's and Gasser's BB/9 rates before getting all upset. Kelly's is almost double Gasser's and has shown no signs of going down. Meanwhile, Gasser strikes out just as many batters at a higher competition level and has three plus pitches compared to Kelly who has two at most. Kelly is not close to top of the rotation right now.
  10. Provided he stays healthy over the next couple of seasons, this title will almost certainly belong to Corbin Burnes. And Corbin Burnes already has a Cy Young, which Sheets never came all that close to winning.
  11. No way. Not only do we have a glut of promising young center field options in AAA, but we already have Jonathan Davis on the major league roster who plays just as good of defense and gets on base at a better rate than JBJ.
  12. I don't know how it's been for you, but the Packers have definitely given me more heartache over the past decade than the Brewers have. Sure, 2018 was tough, but that's nothing compared to pretty much any of the Packers' playoff losses in that timeframe.
  13. Winning is, in fact, all that matters. If we don't win tonight, then the next day becomes more difficult, and so on. On the subject of the Packers, I would encourage you to R-E-L-A-X. They may make the playoffs or they may not. But I will always enjoy the opportunity to watch competitive Brewers baseball, because you never know what tomorrow will bring.
  14. I can tell you that there was nothing entertaining about the 49ers game last year...We also may be watching an offense struggle with that team, too.
  15. Cardinals have done very little that's impressive this year themselves. The Reds also did take a series from the Yankees and probably should have swept them. I'll take a 5-1 win any day.
  16. Ughh looks like the Cards are going to win. Paul freaking Dejong...
  17. Pirates are definitely better than the Reds imo...There are some guys that really scare me on that team. Reds, not so much.
  18. Cardinals will implode down the stretch one of these years. Maybe this will be it after their devil magic from last year.
  19. Lauer is about as good as it gets from a #4/5 starter...
  20. Nice job by Lauer limiting the damage there. Was starting to think bad thoughts. Hopefully, we can score more runs and put this away for good.
  21. Can't take the last three games back, but at least we can maybe regain our run differential.
  22. Ump only seems to want to help Votto and the Reds so far...
