  1. Nice Rowdy. Now, the key will be to, you know, keep scoring runs over the course of the game...
  2. I see how it is. Let's just not call strikes and help the Reds out...
  3. I don't really get the saltiness about the 82 celebration. Whether we like it or not, it's still the greatest and most memorable team in our history and this is probably the last time many of the key principals will all be here (Uecker, Selig, etc.).
  4. Thanks for the catch! Have substituted Logan Henderson for one of the Hedbert Perez's lol
  5. There is absolutely no need to accuse someone of being part of the PR wing of the Brewers for encouraging people not to rush to judgment on the Hader trade. It's not respectful and contributes nothing to the discussion.
  6. 1. Jackson Chourio 2. Sal Frelick 3. Brice Turang 4. Garrett Mitchell 5. Joey Wiemer 6. Jeferson Quero 7. Robert Gasser 8. Jacob Misiorowski 9. Tyler Black 10. Eric Brown Jr. 11. Esteury Ruiz 12. Henry Mendez 13. Ethan Small 14. Eduardo Garcia 15. Mario Feliciano 16. Felix Valerio 17. Hedbert Perez 18. Carlos Rodriguez 19. Stiven Cruz 20. Logan Henderson
  7. It's not "differing opinions". It's outward ridiculing of another poster.
  8. This is quite ridiculous and over the top. Just because someone is encouraging you to let things play out before casting judgment on the Hader trade when we already have an example of how people were overly quick to judge on the Grisham deal doesn't make them part of the PR wing of the Brewers. @Brock BeauchampCan we please cut down on posts like this? We're all fans of the same team.
  9. But are those lists in themselves not entirely arbitrary and teams may value certain prospects differently than Baseball America or MLB Pipeline? Who's to say the Brewers don't value Ruiz and Gasser in a similar manner to how they valued Urias and Lauer. Also, I remember the reaction to the Grisham deal circa 2020 and it was not all that different from the reaction to this one.
  10. You do realize that the Brewers have basically had Hader on the market for a while now and didn't choose to make a deal until now? Which tells me that this was among the better (if not the best) offers they've received in that timeframe. Heck, I remember a couple years ago when Hader had a lot more team control and the best deal we could supposedly get from the Yankees was Andujar and Frazier...The assumption that the Brewers decided to trade Hader on a whim and even then only had the Padres as bidders is quite a leap. I can think of other contenders such as the Yankees and Dodgers who are needing at the closer position and would have been thrilled with Hader. If you were expecting an Aroldis Chapman-like return for Hader, you were quite mistaken.
  11. The idea that we lost the games in Pittsburgh solely because we didn't have Hader is a fallacy. Do you not remember how Hader had been pitching before the trade? Williams has been significantly better than Hader this year and he gave up the game-winning home run to Reynolds on Wednesday night. Simply put, we lost those games because the entire team crapped the bed by not taking advantage of scoring opportunities, playing awful defense, and putting far too many opposing runners on base. And how can you possibly call Bush and Rogers (not Rodgers) a bust when they've combined for less than 5 innings between them? The stats show that they are good pitchers, and we will likely start to see that going forward. The Brewers, like the Rays, will always have to make moves like this to remain consistently competitive in an environment that is geared so heavily towards large-market teams. Do you remember when Melvin and Attanasio decided to go "all in" in 2008 and 2011? How did that turn out for us? We had good seasons, but no World Series and nothing better than what Stearns has accomplished. And, in doing so, we completely gutted our farm system by trading players like Brantley, Cain, Escobar, etc., setting ourselves up for even more down seasons and an eventual rebuild.
  12. Cardinals play the Yankees this weekend while we get the Reds. Need to take advantage of this opportunity. Hopefully the team can get over their collective whining about the Hader trade and get back to playing good baseball.
  13. I'm almost positive there's a psychological element that causes players to play better against their former teams, especially when they were traded/released/jettisoned...
  14. There's a couple people who seem to do that. Unfortunately, some of them are posting on this thread right now.
  15. For those complaining, what more could you want there? It was a hard hit ball, Hayes just made a really good play because he's one of the best defenders in baseball....
  16. I think they're more than decent. And you weren't going to get much more with Rogers being included in the deal.
