Well, look at that. The Brewers are tied with the Mets for the best record in the NL, percentage points ahead of the Dodgers. Too bad I was told that this isn't a good team...

Okay. But you also have to realize that good offenses pile up runs against "bad" teams, while having a harder time scoring runs against "good" teams. It's just the nature of the game. This offense is not the putrid outlet the same few people on here want you to believe. It's not one of the elite offenses in MLB, but it's probably somewhere in the tier after that. With our pitching, that is more than enough to get us 95 wins or so once again.

Great Win! Vintage performances from Peralta, Williams, and Hader. Nice to see that we're not limited to beating up on "bad" teams.

Another plus is that Spencer Strider will not be starting for the Braves tomorrow. He was rumored to be the most likely candidate. Would've been a probable loss with Houser starting for us.

What a performance from Freddy! Location was maybe the best I've ever seen from him. ERA drops to 3.53. Not bad for a guy some on this site were wondering could be sent to the minors not that long ago...Almost like they forgot he was an All-Star and a Cy Young frontrunner before his late-season injury.

I see Arcia finally got rid of that big leg kick. Was so obvious that it was hampering his swing when he was with the Brewers, yet, strangely, nothing was ever done about it.

The indication was that Acuna would be ready to go for the start of this series. He is not in tonight's lineup, however, so you wonder if he will not only be unavailable for the remainder of the series, but if he will have to go on the IL. Regardless, any day we don't have to face that guy is a win, particularly with how he seemed to be returning to form in our series last week. Fun fact, at DH tonight for the Braves is none other than.........Orlando Arcia. Never thought I'd see Arcia and DH in the same sentence. Meanwhile, Adames is out with the ankle injury sustained in yesterday's game. No indication that an IL stint is forthcoming, though. Overall, with Peralta and Burnes both pitching in this series and given the Braves' recent struggles/Acuna's continued absence, I'm really hoping for 2/3 to kick off the homestand.

I agree that his swing adjustments are real, and that he deserves another extended look at the big league level, which he didn't truly get in his stint to start the season. In fact, he was set up for failure with how Counsell was playing him, and that he didn't fall flat on his face like last year is noteworthy imo. Also, if I'm not mistaken, his 2 home run, 7 RBI game came against Max Meyer, one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball and a pitcher who is armed with a big heater. It's just one game, but that he was able to do that against a pitcher of that caliber says something to me. Finally, there's no way I'm trading Hiura right now. His value is at an all-time low. That's just asking for him to catch on and start hitting well with another team, while we get next to nothing in return. Would be a disastrous outcome for a small-market team like ours that is so close to the promised land and which could stand to benefit from more hitting. -

He is a little light on power for a corner outfielder, but still a good hitter. The thing I like about him is that he's a contact hitter and doesn't strike out a ton. Our offense could really use a guy like that. And he would cost very little relative to a Laureano, Mullins, or Reynolds.

And we thought we were having a bad week...Dodgers on the verge of getting swept at home by the Phillies to follow up their series loss against the Pirates. Just goes to show how even the best of teams will have their poor stretches over the course of a 162 game season, and that doesn't mean that they are a bad team.
