  1. Well, I guess we weren't gonna be scoring 10 runs a game for forever...
  2. Not sure what the Cubs were trying to accomplish by starting Daniel Norris against the Dodgers tonight.
  3. Yeah, but what is the likelihood of that occurring compared to a hard hit ball? The name of the game is literally to hit the ball hard.
  4. 2/3 Hard hit balls. Yelich going to the left side. I'll take that.
  5. This is true, but what it also fails to recognize is that Yelich's underlying batted-ball metrics were never as pretty as they are right now. Even during that stretch, one could tell by the eye test that he still did not look right.
  6. You may be right. However, I think Mullins is overvalued as he has only one season of elite production, and hasn't quite been at that level to this point this year. I would try to get it done without giving up Wiemer or Ashby and believe it can be done.
  7. Kevin Gausman has just issued his first walk of the season to end what was a streak of 45 strikeouts without a walk to start this season. Corbin Burnes' record (58) lives on for another year!
  8. This. And his statcast numbers are even better, which shows he's also had a significant amount of bad luck. Just take a look at his XSLG, for instance. At .615, that would represent the second-best mark of his career, ahead of his 2018 MVP season and just a mere 15 points short of his peak 2019 season. The signs are certainly there, and like you, I will be keeping my fingers cross that this continues to hold up.
  9. With regard to CF, IF the Orioles were willing to talk about Mullins, I would be first in line if I was Stearns. Something like a Small, Mitchell/Frelick, and a lower-level lottery ticket might be enough to convince them to pull the trigger.
  10. Your Milwaukee Brewers are now alone on top of the NL, even ahead of the evil Dodgers!
  11. Don't understand how neither Rowdy's, Yelich's, or McCutchen's didn't get out, but that one somehow did....
  12. I wouldn't mind Hader pitching in the bottom of the ninth with a 4 run lead, but I don't think Counsell will do it.
  13. Box, you have not gotten enough love for what you've done for us since last year. Let me stop that right now by saying, "I love you!".
  14. Lauer channeling his inner Burnes with that beauty of a backdoor cutter.....
  15. Yeah. The only ones I wouldn't want to part with in that scenario would be Ashby and Wiemer.
  16. Gallo really is an enigma. On the one hand, he put up a 4.2 WAR last year, won a Gold Glove, and hit nearly 40 homers. On the other hand, he led the league in strikeouts, and has started this year slow with the bat. Considering he's still only 28, provides you that base value with the defense, and is a free agent after this season, I would take him. However, I don't think I would give up one of our top 6/7 prospects to do it.
  17. Man, I remember the days when I was hoping Tyler Thornburg would turn into a homegrown ace for us....How far we have come!
  18. Yeah. I would say that, for him, we're probably looking at a Small/Ashby and a Mitchell/Frelick/Wiemer
  19. Taylor is most definitely an improvement with the bat. Cain, at this point in his career, cannot do what Taylor did yesterday, which is hit a 98 mph fastball at the shoulders deep into the bleachers. Cain will be staying on the roster for the duration of the season due to his salary, but it should really only be as a late-inning defensive replacement. As far as a potential trade, I wouldn't mind taking a look at Joey Gallo should the Yankees make him available. Or Cedric Mullins from the Orioles....
  20. Brewers outfielders having a rough go of it the last couple innings
  21. Well, at the very least, that should be it for Strider....
  22. Not really. The throw was off. Urias was the one who made the nice play.
