  1. Please let Ike slip one more slot, please take the guy who could have been on our first in the second
  2. Dislike. Not a fan of his at all
  3. John Collins. I want John Collins of the remaining choices. Giles is scary and redundant.
  4. That being said,if Monk slips, I'd give up a piece to grab him. He's exactly what we need, IMO
  5. I think they move around tonight. Depending on the board, I could see them moving out/down in either round. If they stay put, I think they grab Bam in the first, Thornwell in the second.
  6. My son will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his heart transplant on Sunday. Modern medicine is pretty amazing. Travis and his daughter have a long road ahead of them, I hope it's a smooth one! The first HLHS burgers is always a risky one.
  7. Power is never a bad thing to have..
  8. 1.9 Alex Faedo Don't know why, I just think he is the choice.
  9. If Sabathia can be considered, I nominate Chris Saenz. THE most dominant Brewers starter I've ever witnessed. Also, Guerra should be considered given the parameters.
  10. If you want to sneak in an Independent League game, the Gateway Grizzlies play about 10 minutes from the Cardinals, on the IL side. Absolutely beautiful ballpark, great game experience.
  11. The Brewers screwing up a promo? I'll bet my Hank the Dog rectal thermometer that you can't give another example of this
  12. Thanks Colby! Late round pick? UDFA? Where does he profile?
  13. Toby or Colby, Do you guys have any thoughts on Chad Spanberger from Arkansas? He's a local kid, not even sure if he's draft eligible...
  14. Grand slam for Diaz to make it a 7-0 game! Man, the potential of that Carolina team.
  15. Yeah I had to listen to the Padres broadcast on Thursday and wasn't particularly impressed. Their color guys is especially annoying. Last week I was in Michigan for business so I had the Tigers broadcast on. With men on 1st and 3rd, the analysis was "..the guy needs to put the ball in play so the guy on first can run this way and the guy on third wants to run that way." Even used the teleprompter. For true pain, listen to Mike Shannon call a game in STL. Worse, people here think he is a Uecker level talent.
  16. Our team is in first place at the quarter mark of the season, and I get to read multiple posts/posters complaining that they're doing it with the wrong guys, wrong batting order, etc. They're on fire, getting great production, winning exciting games, and it just isn't good enough. I feel like there is a distinct demographic here that aren't necessarily baseball/Brewer fans...but look at the season as one of those GM sim games. It's not a real win if Sogard plays because he shouldn't be good. Broxton's hot streak doesn't matter because he's losing ABs in the 7 hole. Garza is terrible, it doesn't matter what the results show. They're winning, their offense is amazing, the pitching adds all the drama one could ask for. At some point this season, it's probably all going to go off the rails, and they'll be miserable to watch. Until then, enjoy it, we're Brewers fans, this isn't exactly normal.
  17. I grew up playing high level tennis, the same quiet rules apply. For focus, for etiquette, etc. Talking, music, fireworks don't bother me on the golf course. I'm a duffer, and play for enjoyment, but what gives me a laugh is the delineation in sports of what requires quiet, and what can be boisterous. 30,000 people can scream while I'm trying to hit a 100 mph fastball with movement, thousands can scream and wave arms and signs while I try to shoot a free throw. Yet whispering is not permitted while I try to hit a stationary ball with a stick designed for my success. Same goes for tennis. I realize everyone is different, yada yada yada...but what's with the quiet? I think it's because tennis and golf somewhat originated in English "society", which is hyper polite and composed. No scientific study behind that.
  18. I would argue that the difference between a BBB shoe, and Nike...is the billions of dollars of R&D that the major companies spend to put out better shoes. These are fashion shoes, like the Kanyes. You are buying them to say you have them, not for any practical purpose. He was smart to pre-order, and not get left with stock. At the low rate they are selling, his profit isn't going to be huge. I bet it'll cost him $200-250 per pair to have them made. He's certainly good at getting attention, but as was mentioned above, I don't think Ball is going to be transcendent. I think he'll be very good, but he's got to be at the Westbrook/Harden level, quickly, to be able to sell his brand. I've actually heard he's a decent rapper, maybe he'll be a Renaissance Man, and the brand will be successful.
  19. TheCrew07 did a fantastic write up on the difference awhile back. It really cleared up the difference for me. I wish I could find it.
  20. I'm being offered Arenado straight up for Judge in a keeper league. I know that would be selling high on Judge, but I'm not sure he isn't a generational power hitter. Probably am deeper at OF than 3b
  21. I think he'll wind up costing his kids at some point. He's an opportunist, who is seizing his opportunity, so good for him I guess. The shoes are as ugly as Lonzo's jumpshot. I refuse to pay over $80 for athletic shoes, but I do have a pair of $500 dress shoes. I'll keep my Ferragamos over some Lonzo's.
  22. It's supposed to rain consistently until 7 tonight. The weather is awful here in STL right now. If they get a game in tonight, it is a testament to the field crew. With the temp/conditions, I would throw out the extreme Sunday lineup. Anyone with any muscle issues, and any outfielders you worry about getting hurt should ride the pine.
  23. Barring unbelievable workouts, I don't think Koenig will be drafted. I think he winds up in Europe. I'm sure he'll wind up on a summer league roster, and maybe a NBDL stint if he desires, but I'd be surprised if his career ends up in the US. I think Hayes could be a second round pick, I don't think he'll be much of an NBA player either though. I hope the best for both, but I don't have high hopes for either in the NBA. The Bucks could use a shooting PG, hitting FA for one is going to cost them people like Snell/Monroe. Their best bet to keep the team together is through the draft. If they can grab a PG that can shoot, or another 3 and D guy, I'll be happy. I will be unhappy if they go the route of another big, or another big project ala Maker. Their window is opening, it's time to go for it.
  24. I don't think there are promotions/demotions involving AA and AAA this year. I think they are trying to put people in AAA who won't be as negatively affected by the altitude.
  25. Pants shopping is always the best. I have the shorts for a 400 pound man it feels like. If you getting taller I guess you must get fatter too. This. I'm 6'8" tall. I wouldn't say I'm skinny, but I'm not huge. XXL shirts are made for the short and girthy. Big and Tall stores are mostly for the big AND tall. Outrageously expensive. Most t-shirts there feature some sort of animal with an angry/aggressive saying. I'm not a big dog. I just want a reasonably priced t-shirt. I love shirseys, they may fit once, but once washed are useless. Dress clothes fit ridiculously, very billowy. Old Navy online has some stuff that fits in their tall sizes, but there seems to be no consistency in size...and they don't hold their shape very well.
