  1. Actually, I believe he knocked Turner Field as well. Says something about the quality of Brewer pitching that he hits like a HOFer here, and can't see.
  2. Missed on the rounds, but kudos to LouisEly for again reading TT's mind on a number of these picks!
  3. I know nothing about Yancey. Didn't Purdue pass a lot this year though?
  4. I wasn't a Perrine fan, although he could have been the thunder portion of a duo. RB can be found late/UDFA
  5. Biegel!! Love the pick, now stay healthy. I agree with both sides of argument on DL. Easy to find good enough, but special talent can be difference makers.
  6. I would think the Pack has leaked plenty of rumors that they are looking at Kizer. He is the "prize" that teams will fight over. Let's get someone to give up a haul for him...and then take one of the CBs a few picks later!
  7. I want King to be the pick. I'm not enamored with Cook, I like Kamara a little bit better. Could live with Lamp, Tyus Bowser is ceiling interesting, I would be unhappiest with McDowell. I'm good with a trade down. We really need some quantity at positions. This being said, I expect to be disappointed.
  8. Jason Terry earned his yearly salary tonight. Exciting game, good experience for a young team.
  9. Mahomes! Can we get some drug tests for the GMs please? This is getting embarrasing
  10. It keeps getting better! The Bengals just drafted Peter Warrick again!
  11. The draft so far resembles my fantasy drafts with my old IT friends who don't really follow football. Wow.
  12. I am resigned to the idea that all of the players I like will be available at 29, and TT will draft an unheralded DL.
  13. Best of the Best is one of the finest martial arts movies featuring irrelevant siblings of movie stars ever made.
  14. All closers blow saves. Milone is a stop gap starter. Not overreacting to this loss.
  15. I think, for the most part, the reload is over. There may be a reliever trade, or minor deals, but I think he's done. I hope they keep Braun. He's a generational talent, and money isn't a concern at this point. Taking what's left of the Dodgers' system isn't value to me. I think he'll hang onto Thames as well, especially if he continues to produce, he ups the speed of the rebuild. You would now have an All-Star 1B. Hader and Woodruff should be up this year, Brinson is knocking on the door. The team is coming together. I don't believe the "World Series" team is going to be all of our prospects, I think it will start with some current members, and hopefully the farm will supplement as needed. If Hader and Woodruff are legit, and enjoy early success. Our window starts with them, IMO. The "flip" stuff is over.
  16. That had to be deflating for the Wild. I think the Blues take it in 5, with MIN taking one of the STL games. MIN has stifling defense, and Dubnyk is kryptonite for the Blues. Hoping to get through this series unscathed and take it to the Blackhawks. The return of Sobotka can't be undersold for STL, that is a huge addition for the playoffs.
  17. I kinda dig these uniforms, they remind of me minor league unis, but still. I like the hats too.
  18. I think it's the Cabrera/Trout argument of a few years ago. Does the triple crown top the fact that Trout is a better player? I think the triple double is a flashy stat, it'll carry him
  19. Giannis is going to have to battle for Most Improved, could be the best contest ever for that award this year. I wish they could have drawn Boston, they match up very well with them. I'll take my chances against Toronto, didn't really want anything to do with Washington.
  20. 1. Overreaction 2. Overreaction 3. Overreaction (though, I think he's just going to be a Geoff Jenkins-esque streaky player) 4. Truth, but because both will earn it 5. Overreaction All 3 will not be. 6. Truth 7. Overreaction
  21. Marijuana is in no way physically addictive. I have seen arguments for psychological addiction, but I'm not sure I agree with them either. There is no withdrawal from weed. There is no craving, there is no need, there is no anything. It's a recreational activity, no better or worse than drinking. Excessive use will result in similar problems that excessive use of anything does. I think studies will conclude what people want them to conclude. If you are anti, it will be easy to find studies that back up your argument, same for the pro side. Calling weed a hallucinogen is a bit of a stretch for me, maybe with some incredibly expensive strains, but certainly not for the run of the mill crap. No more of a hallucinogen than alcohol. Worrying about brain damage from young people smoking a joint? I would rather any of my kids smoke a joint than get drunk. The risks for negative outcomes are universally less. You can't overdose on weed (in a traditional sense), please don't bother with Reefer Madness counter arguments. A few beers a week or a joint here and there won't hurt you. They are both relatively harmless recreational drugs.
  22. Shaw has been the most entertaining player to watch so far. Reminds me a bit of Overbay, open stance, line drive swing. Hard to really blame the pitching too much in this one. When you have to make 4-5 outs an inning, it gets hard. Hernan has to knock down that grounder up the line, Villar has to catch popups that hit the pocket of his glove, even if they're difficult. Aguilar probably shouldn't cut off balls to the left side of 2nd base...Arcia and Broxton look lost at the plate, but otherwise, I thought there were good at bats.
  23. The Rockies bullpen may not be good, but they all seemed to throw high 90s...
  24. I can't say I'm a huge fan of his, but he's a guy you hate if you're an opposing fan, and love if he's on your team. I met him years ago at a poker game, he's a pretty regular guy. It's worth it to the Cardinals, or they would have let him walk, as they did with Pujols.
