  1. Sounds like pure wishful speculation on the part of the Padres, but if there were any smoke, De Vries would be the guy to go after.
  2. Four in Fangraphs top 100. #3 - Chourio #34 - Misiorowski #40 - Quero #45 - Ortiz
  3. **me before seeing the Dominican Academy video** "I don't know...maybe #5 is too high for Yophery. I mean, what do I know, really?" **me after seeing the Dominican Academy video** "What is higher than #1 and can I vote again?"

  5. They can and should do a straight platoon between Yelich and Sanchez at DH. Yelich vs R: .294/.393/.489 Sanchez vs L: .267/.304/.680
  6. I'm not really following the logic of putting Yelich ahead of anyone on this list, much less someone like Misorowski.
  7. Law's Rankings (Athletic) #2 - Jackson Chourio #12 - Jeferson Quero #44 - Tyler Black #58 - Joey Ortiz #71 - Brock Wilkin #90 - Jacob Misiorowski
  8. My guess is Ortiz is looked at as a 2B, not a SS. Arm thing.
  9. I didn't expect a deep playoff run this season. I'm glad they appear to be going in a rebuild direction. This team is stacked with young guys you can imagine being part of the next great Brewers era. I'd like to enjoy this season without the cloud of soon to be FA's hanging over it. Now deal Adames and Devin, please.
  10. In the minor leagues, Joey Ortiz hit the ball 114.9 mph in 2023, something only 30 major leaguers did in the bigs this past season, and he did it with a better-than-average strikeout rate and good defense. He could end up playing third or second for the Brewers this year, or even be in the mix for shortstop with Bryce Turang if Milwaukee continues to reboot and sends Willy Adames somewhere (Los Angeles?). Via the Athletic.
  11. I keep seeing this, as if trading Hoskins in July isn't an option.
  12. They basically just got the pick they would have acquired had they not moved Burnes, plus two top 100 prospects. Again, good deal.
  13. I'm surprised at the negative reaction to the deal here. Burnes hasn't been CY BURNES for a while and he's only got one year left on his contract. I think the Brewers did really well.
  14. 12 seasons of control (and potentially six more in the #34 pick) for one of Burnes. This is a good deal.
  15. This return paves the way for Adames to get moved. Ortiz is a plus-plus defender with nothing left to prove in AAA. Worry is Hall is a reliever but, like Miso, still could be a starter if the command comes around. But even if he's a lefty reliever he'll be a great addition.
  16. ESPN's prospect rankings: 2. Jackson Chourio, CF, Milwaukee Brewers 32. Jefferson Quero, C, Milwaukee Brewers 46. Jacob Misiorowski, RHP, Milwaukee Brewers 51. Tyler Black, 3B, Milwaukee Brewers 97. Brock Wilken, 3B, Milwaukee Brewers
  17. I think Quero is more likely to start in MLB than he is in AA.
  18. I think by now the correct reaction to moves like this is, "Cool. Can't wait to see how this castoff is actually awesome in the Brewers pen".
  19. Rosenthal sure makes it sounds like Burnes is likely here, at least up to the trade deadline.
  20. Rosenthal kicks off his morning article with this.
  21. Hell of a quote. He's right, but I'm glad he said it.
