    Seems like a truly insane price. The Marlins went for $1.4 billion (I believe) and it was a monster overpay.

    I can't think of a circumstance where I'm not trading Freddy. Love him, will always be a favorite, but just say no to investing long term in pitchers on the wrong side of 30. As for when to trade him, if I'm honest I'd say as soon as I get an offer I like. Holding onto him through this season risks his arm blowing up, and then the trade value of the #2 name available vanishes.

    Good. Good for him, good for the Brewers (unless it's for cash, which would be annoying).

    Says that while he waits for a trade he's going to go and compete while he's in the bullpen. I think he's handled this as well as anyone could be expected to.

    I wonder if they work with Civale to find him a place where he can start. Can't imagine he's happy about being relegated to the bullpen in a contract year. I'd be more than fine dealing him for a low level lottery ticket given they'll have Myers, Henderson, Woody, Cortes, Gasser, and Rodriguuez for depth.

    I don't really understand the thought process of sending Misiorowski down, unless you don't think he's going to be one of the five best starters on the team. Sure, he could come up here and implode over a start or two. But Thursday is the day that the organization has been patiently waiting for. You don't bring up a potential #1 just to dick with his starts. He's as ready as he's going to be. It's time to start having him pitch in meaningful games. McCalvy: I'd be thrilled if it's Civale being displaced.

    The Super 2 thing is exactly why a lot of people predicted he'd be up shortly after the first week of June. That's absolutely why he's up now.

    Literally every single stat we have available says he's a back of the rotation starter at best. I'm talking about replacing his spot with a guy who projects to be a font of the rotation starter. Who else is gonna go if not Preister? Not Peralta, Patrick, or Quintana. I would be good with Civale getting replaced, but my guess is his veteran status makes him safe and he'll get every chance. So it's Preister or Misiorowski. If you're going to give the ball to one guy, I think the answer is plainly obvious.

    Yea, that's why I'm using both. I could point to a 15% K% too. He's already being used as the second leg with an opener twice in the last two weeks. Just let him continue to pitch in the middle of games.

    I think that's fine. I like him in the middle/long relief role.

    Preister hasn't been good enough to keep his rotation spot if they decide to keep Misi up. He could be sent down or moved to long relief.

    Doesn't fix any problems, but it's fun and they couldn't keep wasting bullets in AAA.

    Sure you can. A gold glove is just a dumb award, and usually not even given to the best defender at their position. Turang's defense would be way more valuable at SS anyway.

    I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Seigler at 2B than anywhere else on the infield. He's got five games total at 3B...and that's it. Unless Turang's still got lingering arm problems, I doubt there's any issue of him making the transition back to SS, a position he's played all his life.

    Time to see what Seigler can do. Move Turang over to SS, give Seigler an extended look at 2B.

    I think it's interesting the Brewers drafted him as a catcher despite the lack of experience. They must see something there.
