  1. Man, the Brewers are sure in a... BOOOOOO! http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/tongue.gif
  2. I wonder if Prince will be booed in 2011 when he returns to Milwaukee wearing pinstripes. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
  3. How much of what happened today can be attributed to rotten luck? And yesterdays game could probably be attributed to good luck. They say these things have a way of balancing themselves out over the course of a season. It's not supposed to happen on consecutive days. The rational part of my post is now over. You get into a stupid, dramatic little dugout tussle not good enough to split anyone's lip. Ned comes out and says, "Yeah. I meant to do that." Then you add some fuel to the "needed spark" fire by winning to gritty games. AND THEN YOU COLLAPSE IN MONUMENTAL FASION IN A PACKED HOUSE. As much as yesterdays win was a team effort, today's loss was as well. Errors called hits. Pitches hung over the plate on 0-2 counts WITH 2 OUTS! You had a chance to apply some pressure and get out of town with a sweep AND YOU THREW IT ALL AWAY. BAH! Anyone looking to win the NL Central, please step forward AND SHOW YOURSELVES. Ahhh.....
  4. I wonder if even Lyle Overbay would be immune from it. If they'll boo Brady, they'll boo Lyle. 1 point for Milwaukee fans, though--they did give Glavine an ovation last week. I was surprised to see that. And booing a struggling pitcher is one of the stupidest things fans can do IMO. Add insult to injury...that'll help him out. I'm sure that Wise was really motivated walking off the mound today. Woah--I really need to stop posting today lest I head on over to the vent thread--in fact, I think I'm gonna.
  5. Huh? Seems like a cheap way to write off a legitimate statement. Actually, it was more of a knee-jerk reaction to my disgust of seeing Wes Helms get a big hit in a bad loss. For the record, I haven't booed any of the former Brewers (with the exception of Carlos when he hit a home run but I believe he would have wanted it that way). Oh--and Sheffield. I didn't boo Bonds either though I detest him. Anyone who boos Brady or DD is an idiot. Period. The only thing they must know is that they were once Brewers. Sorry about the knee-jerk post. I usually refrain from that but I'm in a really bad mood.
  6. It's Wes Helms. Who cares what he says. This is probably the last interview he'll get this year. *Edit--that sounded persnippity. I didn't mean for it to. It's just that...it's Wes Helms...
  7. Yost's bullpen management has always been sticking point with me. He burns through a lot of guys in the game but has them warming up as well. Spurling was up twice (I think--once for sure). It's the warming and sitting of guys I have a bigger issue with. I think that tires guys as much as bringing them in at times. And I'm speaking over the course of a season--not just today's game.
  8. Title says it all. And for all of you who talk about how easy it is to get a retro, I aligned myself to draw 4 out of the mixed boxes and got none so I'd love to hear the trick as I've yet to get one! *Edit--Here's what I have: 03 Molitor--Home and Alt. 05 Fingers--Home 06 TBow--Home 06 Cooper--Home 06 Yount--Current and Powder Blue 07 Fielder--White 07 Hall--Both 07 Cappy--White Minis: Cooper Thomas Caldwell Simmons (both) I need everything else. Thanks for looking!
  9. You know, I'm starting to think this Gallardo guy might be an OK player someday...
  10. Hart's slide: http://www.marshallbedell.com/photos/Secrets_Flying_kick.JPG
  11. Here, here. Thanks, Pedro.
  12. You know, after reflecting on that series and having gone to 2/3 games against the Mets, I have to say Mets=Good.
  13. Nice job on the graphics. I so don't want to watch tonight but I feel like I have to. I'm telling you right now, though, if they show the clip of the other team that was fighting in the Central this year and talk about a spark, I'm gonna totally lose it! Now come on, boys!
  14. I think this whole thing is very simple Losing=Frustrating=Dugout Tantrums=Called Bad Manager Winning=Elation=Abundant High Fives=Called Good Manager This stuff probably goes on every day in a clubhouse somewhere that it's not caught on tape. How this turned into Estrada needing to go and team dissension is beyond me. The one thing that I see in all this is that by everyone saying how it's nothing most likely means it's something but I again refer you to the chart above. If they win 8/10, it was a spark. If they lose 8/10, it was the proverbial straw.
  15. A note to Ben Sheets: In the event of any further dugout discretions: GET AWAY AND DON'T GRAB ANYTHING!!!!!!!
  16. I dug how Bush was standing there with his arms crossed looking around like he was guarding a bathroom for the mob or something! He even cracked his knuckles! http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/roll.gif They SHOULD be fighting. That's all I have to say about that.
  17. I'm too hot to vent.
  18. I think there's 2 branches of Cubs fan 1. Cubs fans. They enjoy baseball and their team. They could care less about all the suffering junk and respect the game. Most people don't think they exist because they're the ones you don't notice. 2. The people who found out it's fashionable to be a Cubs fans. It seems like it's almost a status thing and they see a ballgame as an excuse to get blasted. They mis-pronounce Theriot and have no idea who Marmol is. They're loud and disrespectful. I imagine the true fans hate them just as much as we do. They're the ones who love to talk about how bad they've had it and blah, blah, blah.... Just my opinion. *to be fair, I've noticed a HUGE influx of obnoxious fans at Brewer games this year. Their behavior is not better than the obnoxious Cubs fans which is what made me think of this breakdown.
  19. The main reason I think the Cubs have a better chance is because of their pitching. I knew their offense would come around at some point but I did not expect their bullpen to buckle down like it has. They seemed to have come together and have all the momentum right now. That being said, there's still 2 months to play and anything can happen. I hate myself for this, but I still think they have a good chance. I'm just hoping for a good and exciting race.
  20. Wow. What an outing by Parra. Sucks to lose but there's several bright spots in this game. Hats off to Parra.
  21. I can't wait to see the "career high" highlight on Ks tonight....I always look forward to that graphic on pitchers facing the brewers.
  22. ugh http://www.brettdaniel.com/pictures/oldweblog/cartoons/goose.gif
  23. And somewhere, Vinny Rottino weeps... I think Rickie will handle this fine. I never remember him having an attitude problem. I really hope this gets him back on track for the stretch run. I think he'll be a key cog in a run to October. Good luck, Rickie.
  24. So...tired...in bed at 1 and up at 4:30. Welcome back IGT. After last night's game, I came home to see how many pages were on it...but...it wasn't there..... It was a sad moment. Never again. LET'S GET A SERIES WIN!!! THEN A SWEEP! Holy crap I'm tired.
  25. You can probably take a breath at this point--don't pass out http://www.kidsbiology.com/images/cat-holding-breath.jpg
