  1. They did exercise Wong's option. They excercised it then traded him to the Mariners.
  2. Just need Rea to avoid the multi-run HR today. When he keeps the HR to the solo HR department he tends to give the Brewers a solid chance of winning.
  3. Hogg and McCalvy said the plan was for Ashby to go to Biloxi next week, so I guess we will see.
  4. I don’t care what the reasoning is, I just better not see him pitching in Biloxi next week when they are in the heat of a playoff race because how he pitched on Wednesday would be absolutely lit up pitching in AA.
  5. Figured I would mention this as I have been hard on him this year. Russell Smith has been quite good since a a blowup outing in his first outing in July. 11 G, 14.1 IP, 1.88 ERA, 2.96 FIP, 32.3% K-rate, 9.7% BB-rate If he can continue to pitch like this maybe he could be a potential bullpen option down the road.
  6. Safe to say Biloxi is about to win their 10th straight game tonight and they’ve made up a whopping 1 game on the Biscuits in that stretch who are on a 7 game winstreak of their own.
  7. Jeferson Quero is down and it looked really bad. Freaking Brewers minor league killer Tim Elko and his 6'4 240lb frame basically just body checked Jeferson Quero at 1B. I really hate this Elko dude.
  8. Ashby has looked alarmingly bad today...He's topped out at 87 mph and his stuff just looks totally lifeless. Seems his FB is 87. CH is low 80's. SL is upper 70's. CB is lower 70's. That's like 6-10+ mph down on these pitches.
  9. Sal's .305 xwOBACON compared to Mitchell's .410 xwOBACON might have something to do with the wide gap in this BABIP's. Frelick has made a lot of contact but generally has not made good contact while Mitchell struggled with contact but when he does make contact he has great contact.
  10. Well @BrewerFan got his wish. Hopefully Vieira can pitch well and stick in the pen.
  11. Unfortunately with the big cut down in stateside minor league player allotment kicking in next season this was going to be a reality. I feel awful for all these players losing their spots because there just won't be many spots open anywhere this offseason.
  12. Basically just praying it doesn't hit you at that point.
  13. Just checking in. Are the Brewers still disinterested?
  14. Alright dude. Just keep up with the relentless negativity and the assumption that the Brewers don't care.
  15. You literally said they look disinterested???
  16. Yeah I really bet the Brewers players are disinterested while leading the division in September.
  17. Jackson and Ortiz have both pitched extremely well. Both guys have good stuff but struggle with inconsistency. When they locate well like tonight and last night they can have success.
  18. Jackson has thrown one bad pitch through 3 innings. A 94mph FB right down the middle on a 2-0 count to Turang and Turang weakly fouled it back. He's just looked very good.
  19. Would be nice if this ump would stop giving Jackson 3 inches off the outside edge.
  20. I honestly don't think Jackson has thrown a single bad pitch through 2 innings. Obviously he's had some poorly thrown balls but everything in the zone is pretty close to the edge. Leaving nothing over the heart of the plate right now. Second night in a row a Pirates pitcher is just executing extremely well.
  21. Yeah it's a very small chance. We need to be 4 games better than Peoria this week. So either 5-1 and 6-0 agains the juggernaut Kernels while Peoria also needs to go 1-5 or 0-6 against the really poor Beloit team. The odds are very slim, but as the great Han Solo once said, "Never tell me the odds".
  22. Cubs bullpen has been much better since the beginning of June. Since June 1st we have 3.83 bullpen WPA compared to the Cubs 3.47 WPA. 5th and 6th respectively in the MLB. We have 88 SD (3rd most) and 39 MD (7th fewest). Cubs have 71 SD (23rd most) and 32 MD (Tied for fewest) I just don't think their rotation will hold up the rest of the year. Steele might end up with 60+ IP more than his career high. Hendricks is good. Taillon is not good. Assad and Wicks are rookies way overperforming their peripheral numbers. I think our veteran rotation is quite a bit better than their rotation.
  23. Well that's certainly better than nothing. A little throwback to the old days!
