  1. The Brewers full season affiliates have all been so good in the 2nd half. Nashville - 33-28 (.541) Biloxi - 37-24 (.607) Wisconsin - 35-30 (.538) Carolina - 39-25 (.609) Total - 144-107 (.574) It's a pretty big bummer that we could potentially only see 1 playoff team out of those 4 teams.
  2. Montgomery is about to win again. Biloxi needs to win these next 2 if they want any realistic chance going into next week.
  3. The Biloxi bullpen might be bad again. Bowman coughs up the lead 3 pitches after being put into the game.
  4. I feel like this does a great job of illustrating the current state of the Central division race. Record each team needs to finish with 90 wins. Brewers - 11-10 Cubs - 14-5 Reds - 17-2 If Brewers play a game above .500 ball the rest of the year the Cubs would need to go 14-5 and win the final series against us to win the division.
  5. Judge - $40M Cole - $36M Stanton - $32M Rodon - $23M Donaldson (DFA'd) - $21M Rizzo (on IL) - $17M DJ - $15M Severino - $15M Hicks (DFA'd) - $11M There's $210M of their like $280M total
  6. He's also now 40 IP over his previous career high and still has at minimum 3 more starts left in the regular season. Incredibly rare to see a pitcher jump in IP like this.
  7. Saw someone say he's a rich man's Eric Lauer and it's not too far off. Just hard for me to see this success being long term with 2 pitches and not the best in zone command.
  8. Steele is having an incredible season, but my goodness does this dude groove so many pitches right down the middle. He tunnels his pitches extremely well and his FB has unnatural cut opposed to most FB having fade but man it's crazy seeing a guy get away with so many 92-93 mph pitches right down the heart of the plate.
  9. They can still get that year back going forward. Not like it only could happen this year. Based on how he hit this year, I would be shocked if he didn't spend some time in AAA next season.
  10. 9.3% BB-rate for a hard throwing RP is pretty good especially in AAA with the tight automatic strike zone. League average BB-rate in the International League this year is 11.8%
  11. Alexander Cornielle has been the pitcher we all hoped for since his brief IL stint in June. Here are his numbers since returning. 48 IP 3.56 ERA (FIP even better than that) 1.23 WHIP+HBP (prefer this over WHIP) 26.1% K-rate 9.5% BB-rate And that includes his disaster start against the Cubs where he went 0.1 IP, 4 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 1 SO
  12. Here's a picture and link. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&season=2023&season1=2023&ind=0&team=0%2Cts&rost=&filter=&players=0&type=8&month=29&sortcol=17&sortdir=desc&pagenum=1
  13. Brewers would likely fair pretty well in that stat as they are 11th in the MLB in wRC+ with RISP and 11th in BA for those that like batting average Edit: I see this was already mentioned later in the thread.
  14. Really wonder what the Brewers will do when Houser is eligible to come off the IL. With 17 games in a row, I imagine they will want to go to a 6-man rotation, but the only pitchers in the bullpen who have options are DW, Milner, Uribe, Megill, Peguero. Maybe a Peguero option or fake IL stint?
  15. Biloxi's impeccable bullpen run had to end at some point. Max Lazar entered with Biloxi leading 2-1 and runners on the corners with 2 outs. He went single, single, walk, grand slam. Biloxi from up 2-1 to down 7-2 in a flash.
  16. Keston is hurt. Glad the obnoxious Keston discourse can be put to a rest
  17. I could actually see a similar situation with Canha
  18. They did exercise Wong's option. They excercised it then traded him to the Mariners.
  19. Just need Rea to avoid the multi-run HR today. When he keeps the HR to the solo HR department he tends to give the Brewers a solid chance of winning.
  20. Hogg and McCalvy said the plan was for Ashby to go to Biloxi next week, so I guess we will see.
  21. I don’t care what the reasoning is, I just better not see him pitching in Biloxi next week when they are in the heat of a playoff race because how he pitched on Wednesday would be absolutely lit up pitching in AA.
  22. Figured I would mention this as I have been hard on him this year. Russell Smith has been quite good since a a blowup outing in his first outing in July. 11 G, 14.1 IP, 1.88 ERA, 2.96 FIP, 32.3% K-rate, 9.7% BB-rate If he can continue to pitch like this maybe he could be a potential bullpen option down the road.
  23. Safe to say Biloxi is about to win their 10th straight game tonight and they’ve made up a whopping 1 game on the Biscuits in that stretch who are on a 7 game winstreak of their own.
  24. Jeferson Quero is down and it looked really bad. Freaking Brewers minor league killer Tim Elko and his 6'4 240lb frame basically just body checked Jeferson Quero at 1B. I really hate this Elko dude.
