  1. Yeah I think they are doing this so Rea can go like 5 innings without facing the top half of the order a 3rd time. Megill gets the first 4-5 hitters. Rea comes in and pitches through the 6th/7th. Then we bring in the fresh A bullpen of Peguero, Payamps, Williams if the score is close.
  2. This is from McCalvy’s most recent newsletter. “Flanagan confirmed that No. 3 Brewers prospect Jacob Misiorowski won’t pitch anymore this season for Double-A Biloxi. He’s been shut down since developing arm fatigue in the wake of a 12-strikeout performance last month, and continues to rehab at the club’s facility in Phoenix, Flanagan said. There just won’t be time to get him back on the field before the Shuckers' season ends. The good news is that the diagnosis -- arm fatigue -- hasn’t been replaced by something more serious. That would position Misiorowski to get some additional work in the fall should the Brewers choose to augment the 71 1/3 innings the big right-hander already threw at three affiliates in 2023.”
  3. McCalvy said he was nearing his innings limit when he got shut down, so I’m not sure they will view him as someone who needs more innings.
  4. I don’t think Chourio will because he’s 19 and has played a ton of baseball this season. He could end up with close to 600 PA depending on Biloxi making a deep playoff run. My guesses would be. EBJ - Missed a lot of time to injury so could use the extra reps Hendry Mendez - Same reasoning as EBJ Eduardo Garcia - Same reasoning as EBJ and Mendez Adam Seminaris - Missed a lot of time to injury and could use extra innings Alexander Cornielle - Finished the year very strong but has almost 30 fewer IP than last season. Gets him more innings and against some heightened opposition. Brian Fitzpatrick - Coming of injury he’s only thrown 30 innings this year and could probably use some more innings
  5. Misiorowski and Blalock are both shut down right now.
  6. It really does feel that way. He’s made so many of these tweets since our big win streak in August
  7. They did. They just used him in the 8th
  8. Then here is a thread from Jarrett Seidler, a Baseball Prospectus prospect guy, showing how rare it is for PCA's current batted ball profile to work in the MLB.
  9. Yeah his defense is absolutely an 80 grade. Bat has massive question marks though. Here are his percentiles in AA. Doesn't hit the ball hard and doesn't have good plate discipline. Still very young so he can develop, but the likelihood of him being an immediate impact at the plate is pretty low with a profile like that.
  10. Caminero is up again as the tying run in the 9th. Shuckers bullpen is really playing games they shouldn't be playing right now.
  11. Gulp Shuckers have left themselves with Caminero up to the plate as the tying run. Bullpen just too leaky today.
  12. Ashby is being sent to Biloxi this week. I really pray he doesn’t blow Biloxi’s playoff chances. Seems like a very questionable call from management not to just send him to Nashville
  13. I do wonder how much playing time EBJ and Wilken will get. Murray and Zamora haven’t exactly been on fire at the plate lately. I imagine we see something like this. C: Quero/Clarke 1B: Martinez/Clarke/Warren 2B: Zamora/Murray 3B: Wilken/Warren SS: EBJ/Zamora LF: Collins/Rodriguez CF: Chourio RF: Sparks/Rodriguez DH: Clarke/Warren/Collins/Quero
  14. I was generally on the opposite side of this argument previously but at one point yesterday there was literally 6 posted articles on the MLB forum in a span of 24 hours. That’s just totally excessive. Zero need for 6 articles to be posted in 24 hours on a site like this.
  15. Smyly gets the first out of the 9th and they bring Fulmer in. 6 straight balls with a HBP since entering. Rockies have runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
  16. Rockies instead of using their closer bring in a RP with a 6.00 ERA and he blows it. Cubs continue to be incredibly lucky.
  17. They changed the AAA playoff format. The entire Inernational league gets 2 playoff teams. It’s not split into divisions. Norfolk won the IL in the first half and Durham is winning in the second half.
  18. Angels are going to have to eat quite a bit of money to get a sizable return. Entering his age 32 season with 7/$248,150,000 left on his contract. That's a lot of money to pay a guy that has played 237 of a possible 486 games (48.8%) in his age 29-31 seasons.
  19. Wow good for him. 100% deserved as well.
  20. Pretty crazy that Biloxi is going to need to go 15-3 over their final 3 series to make the playoffs. I think it’s going to come down to limiting the damage Caminero does.
  21. Ashby looked really bad again. I pray they don't send him to AA next week.
  22. Hoping the Cubs play well? Yikes.
