  1. 111 wRC+ last year is way better than serviceable. You clearly have negative bias towards Yelich.
  2. Context: League-average WAR rates vary. An average full-time position player is worth about 2 WAR, while average bench players contribute much less (typically between 0 and 1 WAR). Average starting pitchers also are worth around 2 WAR, while relief pitchers are considered superb if they crack +1 WAR. For position players and starting pitchers, here is a good rule-of-thumb chart: Scrub 0-1 WAR Role Player 1-2 WAR Solid Starter 2-3 WAR Good Player 3-4 WAR All-Star 4-5 WAR Superstar 5-6 WAR MVP 6+ WAR 141 IP with 0.4 fWAR and 0.7 bWAR puts him in that 0-1 range which is considered a scrub. Last I checked one wouldn't say a scrub is a good pitcher.
  3. Woodford as an MLB starting pitching has a 4.53 ERA, 4.47 FIP, and a 4.98 xFIP. He's not a good pitcher.
  4. Woodford is not a good pitcher. Hopefully Brewers smash him and Freddy pitches well against Goldy and Arenado
  5. Can't tell what has been worse today. Voit's defense or his hitting.
  6. .250 was above league average and no clue why you are ignoring his OBP because that's far more important as a leadoff hitter than his BA. His .355 OBP was 28th out of 130 qualified hitters...real mediocre.
  7. Voit now with a -26 wRC+ and 54% K-rate lol.
  8. We really shouldn't be surprised we lost tonight after Boob Nightengale tweeted this last night.
  9. 111 wRC+ is far from mediocre. It's actually 11% better than average.
  10. A minor league team won 7-5 in a 7 inning doubleheader tonight despite being no hit. They scored 7 runs in the 7th inning off of 5 walks, 4 HBP, and an error.
  11. Remember when this fanbase melted down when Voit opted out? Wonder if they feel the same way now when he's been our worst hitter.
  12. No he busted his knee cap in the 2019 season and was extended in early 2020.
  13. To be fair they extended him after the injury.
  14. Yes. Wiemer has also started every game since he was called up.
  15. Can't believe someone had the gall to say in this thread that Lauer is better than Montgomery. Montgomery is so much better than Lauer. He's had our hitters on strings most of the night.
  16. Lauer might not even go 4 innings today.
  17. He probably could go 2 innings, but doubt you could get much more out of him.
  18. Umps back on their ******** today. That strike call to Adames just wasn't even close.
  19. That was an awful error call. Was a super tough play to his backhand that the 1B should have picked.
  20. I'm just not surprised at this point. I haven't been able to stream games on my First Pitch app in ages.
  21. Mississippi Braves need to figure it out. Once again their game isn't even showing up as an option for me on MiLB.TV...this happened last night as well.
  22. A huge swing and miss by a guy with a career 35% K-rate in the minors. I think that context is necessary. I don't think it was a good pitch. The second pitch in the Gomez AB that he took for a ball was a much better executed slider.
  23. That last pitch to Gomez missed the zone by well over a foot. Just because a minor leaguer will swing at that doesn't mean MLB players will.
  24. 30% zone rate isn't going to fly in the MLB. His command at the moment is just not at a level that will be competitive in the MLB.
