  1. Vennaro pitched in one of those last ST games at the Rockies where statcast data is available. I thought the velo number was interesting. Didn't realize it was that big of an increase. Truly filthy stuff, but seems like he has absolutely no clue where it is going.
  2. Nice to get the W without using Williams, Bush, and Strzelecki.
  3. Statcast has his max FB at 94.2 so not quite 95
  4. I have pretty much zero confidence in Lauer today. He can't locate anything.
  5. Erceg just made one heck of a play on a swinging bunt down the 3B line in the 9th inning. He pitched two extra innings with the runner on 2nd and didn't allow a run either inning!
  6. https://twitter.com/mike_petriello/status/1641882496772997121?s=46&t=WxiRs1N9LlZMKe6c0VtAlQ Here’s a tweet from Mike Petriello that seems to be announcing that AAA statcast data will be publicly available on Savant. Hopefully the other minor leagues will now have this as well. This is a huge development for us prospect lovers!
  7. Weather seems fine for Saturday to me. The rain is supposed to be in the morning with the afternoon/night being cleared out. Awfully cold and windy but they will still play baseball in that.
  8. If it isn't Wiemer/Frelick then the Brewers made it abundantly clear that Wiemer and Frelick were never actually competing for an opening day spot and that was just lip service so they didn't get as much negative reaction towards service time manipulation. I'd much rather call up Wiemer/Frelick to play RF and move Anderson to the infield than call up Toro and slide Brosseau to 3B.
  9. Brewers scored 4 or more runs 97 times last year which was top 5 in the MLB.
  10. Most of the strikes against him have been out of the zone and called strike or he has chased (something he is not known for doing).
  11. That's now 3 Brewers hitters negatively impacted by this ump. Winker went down 0-1, Contreras down 0-2, and Anderson rung up looking. 4 balls called strikes.
  12. Cubs only have 2 LHP on their roster and both of them are SP, so don't really need to worry about 3 LHH hitting back to back to back against them.
  13. I was joking earlier when I said it is because of Wrigley Field, but that might actually be the reason. Which is silly because Wrigley looks super ugly to start the year with the ivy brown and dead.
  14. Because opening day is special and they need to play at the historic Wrigley field!
  15. This could be why they chose to start the year with Anderson in RF and Wiemer/Frelick in the minors. If Tyrone is expected to be back much earlier than anticipated than it's not that big of a deal to go with Anderson for a couple of weeks.
  16. Brewers position players had 2.6 more fWAR than the Phillies who went to the WS last year.
  17. McCutchen's .325 xwOBA last year was better than Keston's .317 xwOBA
  18. Gimenez is an elite defensive middle infielder coming off a 6 fWAR season and only had 4 years of team control left. Frelick isn't getting close to that AAV for a 7 year extension.
  19. Hiura hitting .300 with 30 HR and 100 RBI feels absolutely possible in AAA lol
  20. I was already low confidence in him because he was one of the biggest overperformers of his peripheral numbers last season and was one of the biggest beneficiaries of defensive help in the MLB last year.
  21. Lauer with one more absolutely terrible outing in him before the season starts. Rockies just all over him. I have zero confidence in him heading into the season.
  22. Has anyone seen or heard anything about Misiorowski yet?
  23. I am inclined to agree, but getting Wiemer to the 40 man wouldn't be that difficult. Hiura was DFA'd to open Voit's spot and Justin Wilson could be put on the 60-day to open a spot for Wiemer.
