    This is what I’m thinking essentially. I really want Kikuchi but only at a couple 10-25 prospect type price. Add Bassitt along with Kikuchi and we can get a name from the tier above for Toronto .

    No way, CC was a once ever thing. Scherzer would create hype but is more of a #2 than a cy young ish CC

    Id love to see the least Toronto would take for Kikuchi (rental) and Bassitt (controlled next year). I know it’s rare to trade two in a deal, but seems like that would be the only deal we’d need if we could agree on compensation.

    That deal ain’t happening. Think Bassitt and Kikuchi for Black, Kikuchi for Bitoni, or Bassitt for Blaylock and E Brown type deals.

    Dumb question maybe but can we activate dl hall and then send him down the rest of the year and recoup an extra year control? He maybe should return as a aaa starter this year in our best interests regardless…

    My comments are for Black in 2025. I see Black as a guy that plays a game at 1b 2b 3B each once a week and Dh once or twice a week if he is hitting well. Not talking about this year but he will imho be a sub that spells those three infield spots once a week exactly (with possible dh opportunities beyond that).

    Wondering if Civale starts hot, if we go after a good starter controllable through 2025 at least given that a window might be wide open this and next year (Woodruff). Would help us be more legit threats to the Dodgers/Phils and we would be primed as a top five team in all of MLB next year. I kind of think that if Civale has 3 strong starts coming in, that we should be more apt to trade for a controllable starter to go for it a bit more this and next year. Wouldn’t have to be a Crochet necessarily but someone like Bassitt might make more sense than a rental starter. Thoughts on if a hot Civale beginning might lead Arnold to want to give a bit more for a starter that would return next year as well?

    I had thought Turang, after last year, would become a good Counsell (the player) type utility IF on a good team before he exploded this year. Black’s role if he stays in the organization as we probably should expect, might be this type of role playing everywhere but SS on the infield next year (not with the plus defense of the aforementioned) but getting 300-400 abs next year in that type of role (after Adames bolts in free agency. if we were willing to play Frelick some at 3B this year should things have worked out differently, I would guess Black will be given time next year at 1/2/3B in 2025.

    Was I wrong about moving Joey then even if Grisham has sucked as well? Even if my idea sucked based on the players, was I wrong to think we should sell high when many were Joey lovers/buy in ers?

    Last year bf posters thought I was crazy to want to sell him around July 1st. He was gonna be a stud apparently and played a superb CF. Anyway, if a team thinks they can fix him, let’s move on for whatever reinforcement they may offer.
