  1. An O’s fan mentioned he’d like DL Hall back for Mountcastle yesterday when I posted something similar to this on Mlbtr. That’s interesting if nothing else.
  2. Absolutely yes depending on numbers.
  3. What are their contracts projected to look like? I could see Mark going strong after one of the two if Goldschmidt doesn’t come to fruition after Adames leaves for his big deal. Thoughts on one of these two as our “big splash”?
  4. If we sign Goldschmidt, it makes sense still to have essentially a rotation of 2 of 3 playing at DH/1B/Lf. Maybe Yelich only plays 1/2 games a week in left but there is a fit for all three I believe. Polanco and Moncada are both great options at what they will cost and I feel strongly that they’d succeed in the Milwaukee environment.
  5. Yeah an offseason hitter wise featuring losing Adames but getting the comp pick, adding Goldschmidt, and adding one of Moncada/Polanco would be pretty shrewd imo.
  6. I would love the move. More Rhys to DH more. Yeli would have to be counted on to play the field but I think they want that when he is in the lineup anyway. A one or two year deal for Goldy as Wilken/Boeve/Adams jockey for corner IF supremecy 1-3 years from now makes sense to me.
  7. Wondering if anyone has opinions on pre-arby guys to target that might need a change of scenery. Brett Baty from the Mets is one of my top ones. Grant Holmes (maybe doesn’t fit this topic) but is a guy I’d like to insert in our rotation. Thoughts on these guys and what it would take to get them? Also other targets you like ?
  8. Id be interested in Jorge Polanco if the Mariners elect against bringing him back next year. I think he’d bounce back really well in Milwaukee . Turang goes to SS (or maybe Polanco can play 3B if we decide we want Ortiz moving to SS instead). A few posters last off season were debating trade ideas with the twins to bring him here for this season. Thoughts on maybe targeting Polanco this off season?
  9. Well, many of the brewers numbers guys felt Pham and Fedde were a huge blow to us winning our division. The actual record numbers surprisingly show that Fedde will take them further from the promise land rather than closer to the promise land….
  10. Agreed Team Canada. So let’s make him Matt Laporta and centerpiece Black, C Rodriguez, and Bitoni for a CC Sabathia type with longer control, eh?
  11. He look like Mat Gamel to me. Not sure we are the right organization for him. Look into Bassitt for Black with other piece’s included this offseason
  12. Black unfortunately is reminding me of mat gamel.
  13. Looking back at this thread, I still am ok with what we did. Yes, Mears isn’t ready for a pressure set up role as of yet but I do like the arm and the control. When factoring in a possible Devin trade in the offseason, getting this guy now rather than paying a Junis type 1/7 is fine. Montas is showing leadership and guts imo. He seems like he is taking on a Wade Miley type role that the starting staff needed. Wiemer is showing to be a nothing loss and if anything it might be nice that we don’t afford him opportunities on our squad anymore and simply move on (I don’t mean for that to sound harsh like it might). Im very happy we didn’t overpay for Fedde. The last two days of the deadline it appeared it might be us or the cards as the final two for Fedde. Glad he went there and we kept our prospects by and large and solved our rotation spot with Montas (who I’d look into potentially resigning at a contract closer to half his 2024 salary next year). To win the division this year without sacrificing prime prospects, this was a good deadline.
  14. On a separate note, I don’t know what he’d cost via trade but I’d love to deal with the Braves and obtain Grant Holmes in the deal. 28 year old rookie but he was my guy coming out his draft year that I wanted mke to draft. He sure looked good his start against us but has since moved back to the bullpen. Lots of control left for him and I think he could be a good starter for us next year if we can acquire him.
  15. Basically, I am just saying that Mayo struggled in his cup of coffee at the big league level recently and might not have a starting spot on this stacked Orioles team. If they can get Williams and maybe a deal that expands some to their liking (say getting DL Hall back as the second piece for instance as just something off the top of my head). Maybe both teams would do Mayo for Williams and Hall. Idk but it’s worth exploring….
  16. His cup of coffee for the Orioles has Mayo with one hit and a .259 OPS in just 17 at bats.
  17. Id rather get Baty and a pitching prospect if dealing with the Mets.
  18. What about a deal where Williams goes to Baltimore and Mayo to Mke with other parts involved? Mayo sucked in. baltimore his first tour and they frankly don’t need him at the moment. Devin is the best closer in the game .
  19. I think Moncada is the perfect target for this team. Likely can be had for the 5-10 mil/year type contract we signed Junis and Sanchez for this past off season (Sanchez injury led to adjustment of his original contract). id pay “up to” 10 million on a one year prove yourself deal for Moncada to be penciled in at 3B for us next year.
  20. As for 3B next year (with the assumption Turang and Ortiz handle the middle infield) , I would let black/wilken/Boeve do spring training and prove none can handle the job before going with a stop gap Jedd Gyprko type. Manipulate service time between the aforementioned if need be but I think we can get a 1.0 war minimum that way.
  21. He’d be an upgrade but I am guessing we stick with Mona for such a bit role, whether it’s the right move or not..
  22. Car Rod is possible. Maybe Owen Wilson?
  23. Chapman signed for 3/54 so he is not opting out to take a 1/18 (plus the fact the deep pocketed Giants have also just shown a desire to extend his contract). The better move at 3B would be to target the top 4-5 3B prospects in the minors that are mlb ready in 2025 and try ship Devin to a team currently holding one of them. Maybe the O’s have a non-Mayo 3B prospect ?? I also wouldn’t mind exploring getting Baty from Stearns and the Mets (Devin wouldn’t be a fit there but probably could find a workable deal there if we were so inclined).
