  1. Me to Evan Grant: “Evan, I’m a brewer fan wondering if there is a world where Texas would trade Semien and his full contract along with Leiter and Foscue for two solid bullpen arms (Hoby Milner and Bryce Wilson) and a platoon bat Jake Bauers. Potentially close?” Evan’s response: “I don't think the Brewers would go for that. That's a lot of salary to take on.”
  2. FWIW, I asked Evan Grant the DMN rangers reporter about my proposed deal and he thinks it’s the brewers that wouldn’t do my Semien/Leiter/Foscue for Milner/B Wilson/Bauers proposal. sorry I meant to put this is the trade board.
  3. Oh it would no doubt be our splash off season move. But when you step back and look at it, it “could” make sense. We need an infielder with power to replace Adames. Semien is coming off a 4.0 war season and has power. I believe we can make the salary work where they wouldn’t have to eat it but it would cost them prospect capital that may be doable for them. Here is my proposal: Semien, Leiter, Foscue for Milner, Bryce Wilson, Bauer. Rangers save money galore and get two pretty solid bullpen arms and a bench bat/platoon guy. Brewers solve their infield equation with a middle of the order bat and get a high end pitching prospect (Leiter) and a versatile chess piece for Murphy to utilize (Foscue)
  4. With the Rangers looking to get out of the luxury tax, what would they give us in addition to taking on Marcus Semien and his 4/104 million owed to him? If we can get Wily Adames expected production along with a good arm or two, this might be a way to add power to our infield while adding a good pitcher and top prospect as well.
  5. Sorry to interrupt the thread but I feel our organization in particular has to feel one of Boeve/Wilken are only a year away and with that in mind should be looking at only two players: Polanco at 2nd cheapesh or Moncada at third for 8-10 with an option. Trading with Stearns and the Mets for Baty is the tunnel vision I’m in. Get one of these three guys.
  6. We did surprise with winning the bid on a similarly heralded Nori Aoki which turned out well. So who knows’!
  7. I wouldn’t trade wilken in a baty deal. Peguero Yeager and Patrick maybe.
  8. Chase Hampton would be a great get for Devin Williams and a reliever like Peguero/B Wilson if possible. Also I’d like to add that this is a little different situation than Adames in that I find it unlikely we offer the QO at 22 mil or whatever to Devin.
  9. So Perkins, Peguero, and a 12-20 prospect isn’t worth it (let’s say bitoni isn’t the prospect).? What prospect is acceptable (and the Mets probably aren’t taking this one btw)
  10. Buy low to me would still hurt but you trade for Baty because you believe in the guy. But Frelick straight up may appeal to Stearns for an example. Or Perkins and a prospect like Bitoni with a throw in arm like Peguero or Bryce Wilson in a 3 for 1 deal. I don’t see Baty being super cheap but if you believe in him, both of these deals for example would be a buy low I feel.
  11. Are we sure Devin won’t accept a 20+ million one year deal after this season?
  12. He had an ,864 ops and 16 homers in 280 abs in aaa this past year. If we can buy low on him, getting the guy out of NYC I reckon will lead to an above average 3B in small market Milwaukee and that’s at the minimum…
  13. This guy was Coby Mayo type hyped less than two years ago (and as an aside Mayo fell on his face this year in his first taste of mlb pitching but I digress). It seems the names posters here are coming up with via trade proposals and what not are just pretty blah (mine included). Would it not be wisest to just buy lowish on Baty via trade and see what he can do vs all the other 3B solutions being mentioned? You have to think a reasonable deal is available to be had….
  14. Jedd Gyorko seemingly retired after plying for us the covid year putting up over a .800 ops and having a good glove at 3B. Still not that old either (not happening but might make sense as a non roster guy invited to camp.) Brett Baty makes a lot of sense imo though. He’s a guy that probably should be mentioned more often for 3B discussion names. Should be trade bait by the Mets.
  15. Sign Moncada for third or Polanco for 2nd. Should be an affordable 1-2 year deal and Boeve and/or Wilken will be ready once their contract expires. You give up no prospect capital too…
  16. I like the convo on all three ideas. My thoughts: 1) Walker prob costs Frelick and black. Would you do that? 2) Freddy and Sal definitely gets Mayo. I would not do that though. Maybe Freddy and Perkins but ideally something less like Freddy and Peguero is enough. I think Devin and Frelick might get Boehm. Maybe we need to add a prospect in the Bitoni/Lara range which would suck. But Devin makes sense for them and they need defense in their OF for sure .
  17. How about Patrick Wisdom on a one year deal after he gets non-tendered to be our 3B stop gap. Gotta believe one of Wilken or Boeve will make the necessary steps needed to be penciled in for 2026 so really we just need a one year guy imo. Wisdom sucked this past year but was pretty good the three previous years and he does have power.
  18. Williams will have to be dealt to a team top 6 favored to win the WS. Those are the teams that will want and potentially battle for him.
  19. Major pass on morel but like the thought process actually.
  20. Makes more sense to just straight up sign Monada and/or Polanco than try get all creative when we have Boeve/Wilken/Adams looming soon and one if not more likely pans out.
  21. Bauers I meant. Hoskins is coming back and I wish people would realize that and mock the off season as such. He is 100 percent returning.
  22. The plan needs to be: Sigb Moncada and/or Polanco sign Goldschmidt letting Bauers and Sanchez walk Trade Devin for two good A+ type top ten talents
  23. Rather have Black fail here than deal him this soon. Get him to an acceptable below average defense level to rove a few positions off the bench.
  24. Trade Williams to Boston for Braden Montgomery and Richard fitts. If Boston would do it.
  25. Maybe a rental trade. Bichette for Williams.
