    Speaking of lopsided trades, the Rockies also signed Victor Zambrano to a minor league deal. THAT GUY fetched Kazmir. Maybe if NY would've forgone Zambrano's services, they wouldn't have needed to trade for Santana and give him huge bucks. O.K., so Kazmir ain't Johan, but still.

    This past weekend I flew down to Dallas because I had to participate in phase I of the hiring process for Rowlett. Rowlett is a suburb of Dallas approximately 20-25 miles outside of downtown. At first I was a little intimidated because the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area is HUGE. It is so spread out. Once I spent a little more time in Rowlett, I felt better. Rowlett is its own community, and it does not feel anything like Dallas. This weekend, I'm flying down to Athens. Rowlett isn't too bad, and most of the Dallas 'burbs are pretty slow paced and not at all like the city. Is this a police job? I'm pretty sure I know someone (a father or a former client) who works for that department.

    I went to Blockbuster and they were out of my top 4 or 5 choices (I miss the old days of guaranteed in-stock movies), but I was bored and was trading in my online movies, so the rentals were free. I and ended up with an Elisha Cuthbert double feature: Captivity and He was a Quiet Man. Captivity was just horrible, as the term "torture porn" doesn't do it justice - it's just an awful waste of film. "He was a Quiet Man" was actually really good, IMO. Christian Slater was very good and the plot was interesting. I'd definitely recommend it. Also, my fondness of David Koechner blindly led me to "The Comebacks", a horrible, horrible movie that made "Date Movie" look like an acceptable film. I guess I was expecting a "Necessary Roughness" type of football comedy, but it was just an awful parody film.

    I hate these ads because if they suck, they suck. If they're good, they'll be beaten into us during every commercial break and in pop culture for the next 6 months. Wazzuuup! Was one of the signs of the apocalypse, IMO.

    It'd be way cooler if it was "Wild Side" by Motley Crue and they played a video on the jumbo-tron of Dwight Schrute getting pumped and head banging.

    In defense of the family-friendly entertainment favored in recent years, can you really say anything involving Justing Timberlake was superior? I sure as heck can't/won't.

    No way would I trade Braun for ANYONE coming back from major arm surgery - even a young Santana. He'd have to be back for awhile and looking great again before I'd ever think about trading a rising star for a rising star with an injury to a critical part of his body who may never be good again. Granted, Neshek and Kubel would be nice to grab, but if Liriano isn't good, the trade looks worse than Braun's defense at third.

    Is it bedtime yet? Have you ever seen his link reports and posts in the minor league forum? Mass just tricked you, he doesn't sleep, and thus there will never be hint. It's like the sign bars have that reads "free beer tomorrow".
