That and he has health questions with the knee(and by the way, might have slipped your mind, but Tom was extended for like 4/84 that could be 4/92). I think the 4/100 is probably a pretty reasonable ask from Walker. I also think it's why they have been planning ahead on the OL and made the moves they've made make even more sense in hindsight. I think Tom will be LT or RT. I don't think it matters. Where did Parsons lineup all week? So LT, RT... Morgan, Belton... who looked pretty damn good in a few snaps. Better than Morgan IMO, but once you get Morgan at one position(OT) I think he'll look quite a bit better. He's moving from OT, to LF, RG. I understand Tom got injured, but too much "positional versatility" in game is... not a good thing. It's gonna be really important that we find a way to hit on some of these picks this year. The following year I think we'll be looking at... probably a couple 3rd rd picks. I'll guess we get one from Walker(if Banks gets 77M in FA, Walker probably gets 100M on the scroll, but I'd guess 4/100 35GTD, but in reality closer to the 4/100, though...light on the GTD money. Doubs... again, these contracts are so wild, but he could get 15M AAV assuming the cap gets to 300M as I expect it to(as most expect it to despite modest projections year after year). You probably get a comp pick for Malik Willis. Sean Rhyan...I'm starting to think he's back, but if not, he's become a surprisingly good Guard with positional versatility(C/G). 38th in pass blocking grades by PFF. About the same as Aaron Banks. I'll say 2 3rds, and 2 5ths in 2026... unless we get Watson back this year and then trade Doubs in-season...which is possible to me if Wicks can catch the ball again, Watson comes back, Reed stays healthy, Kraft, Musgrave, Savion Williams... if they're healthy or looking good, I wouldn't rule out a trade for a 3rd rd pick to a team that really needs one.

We come out about ~12M lower in payroll after the buyouts, arbitration raises and the players we're losing. So... lets just see how this season plays out. An NLCS or WR run changes the finances quite a bit. Also, being on the precipice of such a run...also changes ownership's willingness to spend. Holding off the Phillies for the #1 seed is a good start... assuming we hold off the Cubs or it's a moot point. We're going to need to take care of St Louis the next couple series.

This team is full of owners who are worth...billions and billions of dollars. If there's a lockout, they're not losing money, they're just not making money as they don't have to pay the players... obviously. If this happens, I'll lose a lot of faith in ownership. I don't think it will, but for a team that's on the verge and should go into next year with WS aspirations, just the idea of non-tendering Vaughn after what he's done would be... Nutting like ownership. We're not a rich franchise... we should not a poor one coming off this season. We still get ~210M based on 2022 numbers and that number should be growing at the TV deal(National) increases. Sports franchises are rich men's toys. I don't expect them to be 100-150M in the red each year, but if they're ~25M in the black each year... then they damn sure better be willing to suck it up and spend a little money and not tighten the purse strings for a 3rd straight year because in the future they MIGHT not be making more money. I'm not arguing with you on how wealthy men operate, I'm just telling you how that would be received. Hell, fans are already of the opinion(a bit misguided IMO, but most Brewers fans) that Attanasio is cheap. If they come in next year around 100M or in the 90 Millions for payroll...I'm going to be agreeing with them. Especially given they should be making more money this year than last when Forbes estimated their net revenue at 25M(while LAD was at about 21...which really shows the chasm between those teams ability to generate revenue, but...that's for the potential lockout).

Wins and Losses for a pitcher? -He lost one game vs TB when he gave up an IF GB and Megill came in and gave up the winning run. -One loss to the Rockies in which he came in, got a K, gave up a GB up the middle(automatic runner scored) and got a DP ball. -Reds, another extra inning game. Cincy bunted a man to 3B, two intentional walks and another GB to LF -4th loss to SF with 0 ERs. So in 3 of the 5 Losses he gave up 0 ERs and in the other, he left 1 man on and Megill gave it up. I think ERA and FIP tell you a bit more, particularly about a reliever than a 2-5 record. Josh Hader has had a losing record in 5 of his 9 years....for a point of reference. Yoho has been up and down 3 times this year and he's had a good game in a 10-2 win pitching innings that could just as easily gone to Bauers. Not sure I'd trust him in October at this point over Anderson.

This is HUGE. I didn't know what they'd do with him... but he's a LITTLE like Parsons in that when he's on the field, he opens things up for other players. Obviously I'm not saying he's comparable talent wise, but defenses needs to put a safety over the top for him or he's going to run past them. This sets him up to get healthy, play a season, sign that big contract, hopefully in GB. Golden, Watson, Doubs, Reed, a Wicks who's reliable like Yr1, Kraft and Musgrave, Savion in a multi-faceted role like Cordelle Patterson. I love this deal for the Packers.

I didn't realize that Love even played this pre-season... 3 snaps which ended with a 65 yard TD and a broken hand. So while I expected them to start slow(and I thought it'd be a close win or a blowout loss TBH)... but it shows the balance you need between sitting guys and playing them in the pre-season(as flukey as it may have been). The CBs which I thought was a big hole, it's just not as big of a hole now. I think it still shows up a bit on 4th and 2 type plays when you line up in man coverage, but... probably a bit much to ask to expect Ramsey and Sauce out there at DB as well! To your last point... the offense did play well... at times. And the run game ended up just grinding them down, but I think that offense is going to loosen up and play so much better as the year goes on. I'd be more guarded and 'it's one week,' if Parsons didn't beat Sewell so many times. I've looked at the Edge that plays on the left(over Sewell) as kinda a sacrificial lamb. He just dominates guys... but Parsons being able to beat him? *One more thing, not sure if I mentioned this, but as far as the Packers vs the running QBs, Parsons has only allowed a 100 yard rushing game by the QB 4 times in his career. That's in a division with Hurts, Daniel Jones(who... is a good runner), Jayden Daniels, the Commanders have had Sam Howell who ran a ton. 2.4 Yards per play with Parsons out there.

LOL...yeah, that's just cope... or the stupid fans on X. We all know if you put Parsons opposite Hutch with McNeil on his way back and Tyliek Williams and... whoever in the middle, that'd be a nasty DL. I am a little upset the mock draft season won't be as fun, but... I'll find a way to go on!

Yeah, I've probably been there 30-40 times as well. East St Louis is sketchy, but the downtown area is...again, really nice. They have a whole area down there by the Enterprise Center that's... very-very safe, nice, clean. It's like any highly populated areas. There are nice areas and there are bad areas. You could spent a lot of time in Chicago and be in a safe area. It's just poverty. You look at the States with the higher murder rates, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana... it's just the poor area. It's the one thing that translates. City, State, country... it all stems from the same thing. I spend most my time in the Suburbs and then in a VERY-VERY rural area part of the year when I' m feeling like a recluse, but you just need to know where you are. That's as much as I care to defend St Louis ever.

I actually think the City is great...they've hosted the NCAA Wrestling D1 Championships and the downtown area is great, but I'm with you on the fanbase. They're being put in their place a bit and I don't see things getting better for them the next 4-5 years vs the Brewers... if not longer. I think this Pirates team is going to be a contender next year(Skenes, Chandler, Jared Jones, Keller and Oviedo)... The Reds don't have the pitching, but they try to win. And the Cubs will be decent. I'd probably take STL to finish behind those teams next year(while we obviously win the title).

I don't know how they don't get in there and out-bid the Packers for Parsons. Just the idea of Parsons and Hutchinson coming off the edge... with that offense and their OL which IS still a very good unit. Mahogany was one of the steals IMO of the draft two years ago and was playing at a REALLY high level at the end of last year... when he came back from whatever illness he had. So he was going to be a starter. They used their 2nd rd pick on Ratledge who people thought was going to be a stud. And then you lose a guy like Ragnow in June... not a whole lot you can do there, but Glasnow is... a good player. I said before, just Alim McNeil and 2 1sts is beating that deal. 25 year old DT... coming off injury, but still. Or even without McNeil, they should have been able to add more. They used their 1st on Tyliek Williams, a 1st rd pick. He's a run stuffer. So outside of DE... I didn't really think they had a weakness. They did add DJ Reed, but... I thought that was a REALLY good roster. I still do. But... you need players who tilt the field and make the game easier for everyone else. Detroit has elite safeties, best safety duo in the NFL. Hutchinson will get better. DTs, Jack Campbell is a stud... but I thought when it game to Garrett, Crosby, Hendrickson...and then Parsons, they should be willing to give up a lot as they're so desperate... and they let the Packers get him. Speaking of which, we had 3 guys with pass rush grades over 73. I do think it's a little funny hearing Parsons talk about Van Ness and his speed, so he is going to keep working with him. I mean, it's great, don't get me wrong, but Parsons bends and moves just different. That speed Van Ness and Gary have is great... for big, physical DEs, but Parsons is so unique. We used to play the Cowboys and whoever our Edge going up against Tyron Smith was, it was like they were running into a brick wall. He was just too big, too physical, too athletic. Clay struggled, Perry did nothing. Sewell is in that same class and Parsons, 1 week of practice and he made a big impact in the game(he also set the edge vs the run a couple times). I wouldn't be surprised if he forces 10 sacks this year by OTHER players... who get a sack because the QB is rolling away from Parsons. LVN should be one as he's a high effort player, Gary is just a really good pass rusher, Wyatt is someone we're just waiting on and he looked good, best vs the run. Had a big sack wiped out due to a penalty, but I thought he got another. -I also think Edgerrin Cooper will be an All Pro this year. If NOT, he'll have an AP caliber season. He was just flying around. It's Week1 vs a team that is going to have a lot of adjustments and Detroit will be better, but as this team gets more confident... thought they played a bit tight at times, didn't really let Love finish a drive or series or the half, as @CheezWizHedsaid, they'll be getting Lloyd back(though Brooks pass pro was amazing today), Watson at some point...and if Tom is healthy, well, all those pre-season "Power Rankins," having the Packers in the top ~5, they seem very justified!

Those of us who watched the '96 team... they had TWO great players. Reggie and Butler... and then just so many other guys who just did their jobs. Sean Jones was a good player in his prime, but... he was just good enough with Reggie. Newsome, Tyrone Williams, Doug Evans, they weren't great, just solid. This defense has better supporting talent if you take Reggie and Micah out of the equation in MY opinion. Gary, Cooper, Williams and then McKinney, he's not Butler, but he's an AP caliber player. Not saying this defense will be better. Reggie was a monster. But it could be.... and it SHOULD be good enough that if Love plays clean and smart, we should be right there with anyone for a SB.

And aside from what he did, he just makes everyone else that much better.
