  1. Yeah, I was at Game 3 in 2008, and it really was electric during the game. I think after the game, the atmosphere was somewhat subdued (though there were still chants and cheering), because people knew who was pitching the next day, and we were already down 2-1. I think now people have higher expectations. I wasn't able to go yesterday, and won't be able to make any games in this series due to a couple different reasons. Hoping to make at least one game in the NLCS and beyond... Glad to hear everyone had an awesome time, though.
  2. I would rather have home field advantage versus the Cardinals, but I just do not think they are going to win against the Phillies. I do think the Brewers can beat either team in a 7 game series, but the Phillies will be tough, no doubt.
  3. I feel really dumb for asking this, but I have an HP desktop computer (just a couple years old, not sure of the model number) with Windows 7. I am trying to use the SD card slot on the computer for the first time, in order to upload some JPEG files to the computer. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to actually access the files on the SD slot. The SD card isn't showing up in File Manager, even though the green light is on next to the card slot. Anyone know what I'm supposed to do?
  4. Yeah, they've been using it at Miller Park at least since last year. I hate it, too. I'm not sure if I hate it because it's identified so much with the Red Sox, or if it's because it's such a lame cliche song to begin with.
  5. Their picture and sound are both really good. FSN should take notes.
  6. I thought so.
  7. Oh, I forgot the other funny thing from last night: The Pyramid! "You need to unleash the power of the pyramid!"
  8. I didn't think last night's episode was that great either. Some of the stuff with Andy challenging the team to raise revenue was kind of funny, but beyond that, it was kind of a lame episode. What was the point of Daryl reconciling with his ex? I didn't get how that had anything to do with the rest of the show.
  9. I recall there was some talk about pit bulls on here a while ago. Well, I got off the phone with one of my employees earlier today, and it reminded me about this right away. While she was working her shift yesterday, her mom let her dog out and was taking it for a walk. Out of nowhere, a pit bull ran up and attacked her dog (which is just a 15 pound miniature pinscher), basically mauling it. Her mom was also bit in the attack. They were able to save the dog's life after emergency surgery, which cost over $1000.00. One of this poor dog's legs was almost torn off, and while they did reattach it, they are unsure if he'll be able to keep it or not. There was no sign of the pit bull's owner, and it ran off without getting caught. FWIW, this happened in Oconomowoc. Very disgusted to hear all about it. I hope they find the pit bull and put an end to it, and make the owner pay for their irresponsibility.
  10. It's not like this is just some switch he can flip on or off. He deals with it all the time. Let's not forget he may be pitching on short rest in a couple days, and just pitched on Wednesday night. If he needed to stay home and get extra rest, I have no problem with it. We just had a starting pitcher the past couple years who did all the right media and fan friendly things, showed up at events, was an outgoing philanthropist, but sucked on the field. I'll take the guy who pitches like an ace but shies away from the fans any day.
  11. You never know. It's possible Greinke had some other function or family issue to deal with. If it was due to his anxiety issues, it's understandable why he wouldn't be there. It's not like this is some new thing with him at this point.
  12. Yeah, sports owners traditionally make their biggest money when they sell the team. Year to year, I don't think someone like Attanasio is pocketing huge sums of money from the team's profits. Most of that money gets reinvested in the ball club.
  13. I agree, and I think the voters will as well.
  14. Found out my dad has tickets for Saturday's game. Might get to go depending on a couple different things.
  15. *golf clap* I tried to write this post earlier and gave up because I couldn't do it as well. He did this one post well in this thread, but it's a small sample. Too early to come to any real conclusions.
  16. Which is kind of stupid for the local fans.
  17. Pretty sure he was just visiting the branch.
  18. Brewers over D'Backs 3-1 Phillies over Cardinals 3-2 Yankees over Tigers 3-0 Rays over Rangers 3-2 Brewers over Phillies 4-3 Rays over Yankees 4-2 Brewers over Rays 4-2 Well, I can dream at least, right?
  19. i seriously considered cancelling my subscription after that cover. i still may. The funny thing is I cancelled my subscription back around January (had one year cheap with Insider) and they still send me the stupid thing. Probably a ploy to boost subscription numbers, I guess.
  20. Yeah, I don't get it either. Kind of annoying.
  21. Plesac and Reynolds always get fired up like that. Nothing new or surprising.
  22. I must have missed something...... http://millcitymauler.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/espn-magazine-boston-cover-e1316782811438.jpg
  23. This is so hilarious after that ESPN Magazine cover from last week.
  24. I thought the season premier was "OK." I've made this comment before, but sometimes the series has these necessary "plot advancement" episodes that aren't as funny as some of the more "everyday" type episodes. They had to establish Andy as the boss, etc. It did come off as somewhat flat in spots. Also, some of the characters who were key to last season seemed like after thoughts (Gabe, Daryl, etc). I agree with rwa that Pam's character isn't that enjoyable or interesting anymore. I also wonder what happened to the hints of problems between Jim and Pam from late last season. I still like the series, but you have to wonder if this will be the last season. Doesn't seem like there is too much more they can do with these characters at this point.
