  1. It's too bad a few idiots have to ruin a promotion like this for a lot of other fans. Like RoCo said, it's especially stupid and shameful when grown adults blatantly profiteer off something like this.
  2. I heard one person got like 27 of them. How ridiculous.
  3. Have not heard anything yet. Obviously, will post more if I hear anything.
  4. THIS. If MLB wants to regain it's place among the hierarchy of American sports, they need to fix the financial inequality. It's simply not a level playing field. The Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies and the LA and Chicago teams are simply on another level. It extends to every facet of their baseball operation. They can outspend teams such as the Brewers in the draft, foreign scouting and signing foreign players, and then the obvious ones, big league payroll. The thing is, what incentive is there really for teams like the Yankees and Red Sox, who have built up their own highly lucrative networks, to do this?
  5. Yup. He's probably letting out some pent up frustration and jealously that another one of his partners is receiving national attention calling games for a big network besides FSWisconsin. Wow, I missed this. What did he say?
  6. Hart over the last 14 days (11 games appeared in): .333/.404/.690. He has quite the hot streak going of late.
  7. This is probably more likely to happen than getting rid of the DH in the AL. With the crazy money starting pitchers are getting these days, at some point teams will decide they don't want them risking injury by hitting. Personally I love interleague play...if they have to have it all year to balance out the divisions, so be it. I would like to see Houston move to the AL West, and have an even five teams in each division. I would also like to see teams lose a first round draft pick if they sign a high profile international free agent. The draft needs to be fixed quite a bit. They should have hard slots for signing, and do something where players can't just not sign and then re-enter a year or two later.
  8. Ditto. Now hopefully they can just back it up. Would be nice to get a win tonight before facing the indomitable Livan Hernandez tomorrow.
  9. It seems like he realizes he made a bad decision. Not sure if I can see Melvin trading back for him just to be nice at this point, though.
  10. (Mods, I wasn't sure where this is appropriate to post, so feel free to move if needed). I know a guy through Twitter who is a big Luis Cruz fan (I suspect they are related or something). Anyway, he just sent me this tweet: "Luis Cruz wants to come back to the Milwaukee organization. Please talk to anyone who could help him get back in Milwaukee!"So there you go Brewers fans. Let's get a viable shortstop option back in the organization. How that can be accomplished, I don't know. He asked me to get the word out, so that's what I'm doing.Edit: In a followup, he says it was apparently the agent's idea for Cruz to go to a different team.
  11. If Wolf pitches better with someone other than Lucroy, can't Lucroy just always get his off day when Wolf pitches? I guess I don't see what the big problem is.
  12. Kotsay is probably better than Branyan defensively though.
  13. I don't know exactly why, but I always liked him as a kid. Still have his Starting Lineup figure on the shelf in my office. I wish him the best in this fight.
  14. Boggs is definitely not a big time power hitter, but he does have some pop in his bat. I don't get Roenicke's aversion to playing him.
  15. I agree with RoCo that a AAA stint for Gomez would be rather pointless at this point. If he's going to learn anything at all moving forward, it's going to be in the majors and not the minors.
  16. I wonder if Rivera starts today so we don't have to witness the Lucroy/Wolf "issues" again. Jimenez hasn't been his dominant self so far this season. Hopefully the Crew can jump on him early and get a nice victory on Casey McGehee bobblehead day.
  17. He is the pitcher who is doing the best atm, he is not the unquestioned ace of the staff. Do you really need to be that argumentative about something like this? Marcum has been the best, most consistent starter on the team so far this year. I think that was all derflotr was saying. Not that Gallardo or Greinke can't or won't be better long term.
  18. Yeah, I have a ton of Topps sets (as well as some others) from the late 80's through mid 90's and they're all worth a pittance.
  19. Money problems among relatives is one of the worst things...
  20. I don't understand why this game isn't on TV tonight. Seems like an odd scheduling decision.
  21. I don't know who he would replace. Kotsay and Boggs have been serviceable backups so far this season, as much as many on this board would hate to admit.
  22. Yeah, I was just thinking that. Last night had its ugly moments (Yuni botching what should have been a routine double play at a critical moment late in the game...) but the team exhibited a fighting spirit that's been somewhat lacking at times this season. Hopefully they keep it up.
