  1. I hate it. I hate winter, I hate snow, and I hate being cold.
  2. It's official as of this afternoon. Congrats to Paul Molitor and best wishes on the new job. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11815574/minnesota-twins-hire-paul-molitor-manager
  3. Yeesh. Hadn't heard about that. Now you have me worried. I wonder if he never cleaned his? I clean mine thoroughly every other day, and you're supposed to replace it every three months. Edit: I did a Google search, and looks like the deaths that occurred were attributed to the people taking in a amoeba using tap water. I guess I should stop using tap water with my rinse!
  4. How many teams really draw that well on the road anymore? We know the Yankees and Red Sox do. The Cardinals and Cubs still seem to, to a degree. Beyond that, I am not sure any teams really do, so can that really be a useful criteria for this type of discussion?
  5. Have her start taking Zicam right away. I know that helps me get over colds a lot quicker. I've also been using a NeilMed sinus rinse every day for about the past month, and I find that it helps a lot with clearing up my sinuses. If she is all stuffed up, something like that can help. It's the thing where you mix a saline packet with water inside a bottle and then squirt it up your nose. Yeah, not the most pleasant thing, but I find it helps a lot. They're available at most pharmacies.
  6. From what I've read, the Twins know their MLB team is a mess right now, and are planning to bring in Molitor as a long term manager, just like Gardenhire was. Hopefully that bodes well for him.
  7. I believe it's actually for $14 million. I have mixed feelings on this. I am not that upset he's coming back, and we don't have better options in the minors to replace him. Barring some trade for a decent 3B, bringing A-Ram backed seemed to be basically a forgone conclusion. One other thing I saw brought up on Twitter: With Ramirez and Lind both having stints on the DL the past few seasons, it's going to be imperative the Brewers have a decent 1B/3B type on hand as a backup. And of course we already know Lind will probably need a platoon mate anyway.
  8. This could well be Melvin's last year as GM and Roenicke's last year as manager. I think they're taking one last shot at a playoff run, and things will be blown up mid-season if the team is struggling in the standings.
  9. Yeah, it was something our church starting doing three years ago. It was a good fit for us, as we are located right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We have people come through the lot so the kids can get candy from church members, and then they were able to go inside and get hot dogs, coffee, etc. The latter part was a big hit, given how cold it was Friday night.
  10. That's funny. Last I heard, Overbay is probably going to retire. No one is pretending Lind is going to be the second coming of Prince Fielder at first base for the Brewers. But he's going to be a big upgrade over the junk they've been trotting out at the position the past couple seasons. It's not like his salary is ridiculous or anything, either. The Brewers really need to address their lack of top prospects at the corner positions, though.
  11. Paul Molitor is my all time favorite Brewer. He was the first player I really started cheering for as a kid, other than a young rookie named Gary Sheffield. I think it's such a shame that he's become a big part of the Twins organization, but basically forgotten in Milwaukee. I firmly believe he should have a statue outside Miller Park, right next to Robin Yount's (see the link in my signature). That said, if he gets the Twins managerial job, good for him. I hope he does well. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/report--twins-expected-to-hire-paul-molitor-as-manager-163108617.html
  12. Sounds like you know something.
  13. Estrada will really hate "Rogers Centre." Why is "Heyman" putting that in "quotation marks?" I don't know. I thought that was weird too. I guess this kills the Laroche rumors.
  14. Adam McCalvy says Doug Melvin is confirming the trade! That was quick.
  15. Heyman just confirmed this is happening, so topic has been moved.
  16. Yeah. Rogers would make sense as a platoon mate. Hopefully Lind at 31 can stay relatively healthy.
  17. Lind will make about $7 million in 2015 and has an option for $8 million in 2016.
  18. Rumor from sources on Twitter is that it's for Marco Estrada.
  19. Was just coming to post about this. It seems like he'd be a decent fit right now. No idea who the Brewers would be giving up, though.
  20. So what do we know about Ray Montgomery? Here's an article that talks about some of his background: http://dairylandexpress.com/2014/11/01/milwaukee-brewers-bringing-back-ray-montgomery-lead-scouting/?utm_source=FanSided&utm_medium=Network&utm_campaign=Around%20the%20Network Apparently he is credited with scouting Rickie Weeks before the Brewers drafted him.
  21. I think if it was someone already in the organization, it would have been announced by now. I hope they are searching far and wide, as I think an outside perspective would be good.
  22. The days of a team being "dominant" for several years on end during the regular season and winning multiple World Series are probably over. I don't think that's a bad thing in this day and age. Do we really want to go back to the days of franchises like the mid '90s Yankees?
  23. Best of luck to him, and thanks for the memories...but at the same time I think it's best the team is moving on from him and giving Scooter the chance.
