  1. I'm definitely glad my sister and I bought the parking passes with our 10 pack, though. Like someone else said, the parking prices are still nowhere close to what they are in other cities...of course, in most other cities, the stadium is located near downtown locations, but still...
  2. Yes, the annual price increases are getting slightly old, but that's business for you. Making Opening Day tickets available first to people buying multi-game packs just makes sense, though.
  3. Yeah, while I don't care for Nickelback at all, a lot of bands tend to follow the same formula in multiple songs. I think the fact that Nickelback's music is just really generic, radio friendly, and boring adds to it, though.
  4. Heh, I was actually thinking of Gladiator, even before I opened the topic.
  5. Prince could probably have a year where he hits 70 or more home runs at some point in his career. Look at what he did last season. I don't think that will be a norm, though.
  6. Couldn't you just replace "Kerry Wood" with "Ben Sheets" and change "seven" to "eight" and it would be pretty similar to the Brewer's situation? Yeah, pretty much. Obviously, Sheets' injuries haven't been as consistent as Wood's (no arm problems), but personally, I hate to say it...but all the poking fun of the Cubs on this board is a little, um...I don't know what word I'm looking for exactly. I guess I don't think we as Brewers fans have a ton to mock them about at this point. Fact is, the Cubs probably don't really need to pin all their hopes on Wood at this point, where as everyone here has consistently said that Sheets has to stay healthy for the Brewers to have a realistic shot in '08. While the Cubs did get swept in the playoffs last year, the bottom line is that the Cubs were in the post-season in October '07, while we as Brewers fans were once again watching from the proverbial sidelines. Really, the Cubs worry me a lot more than any other team in the NL Central. Yes, they need some things to go right (Fukudome needs to be successful, pitching needs to stay healthy), but in some ways they have a fewer questions marks than the Brewers do. Yeah, their fans can be annoying, as can the Chicago media proclaiming them World Series bound, but I guess I don't think we should get too big for our britches, either. One winning season in fifteen years isn't a lot to rally around, yet.
  7. Maybe that's what I should have taken the other night when I couldn't sleep. A few shots of vodka might have helped.
  8. Yep. Definitely kind of freaky.
  9. Ugh, I slept about _maybe_ three hours last night. Combination of stress and an upset stomach, I guess.
  10. Remember when he first came to Milwaukee that a lot of people said he would be popular here? Yeah...

  13. I really doubt that many fans have really voiced to the Brewers that they supposedly miss seeing the AL teams, as well.
  14. Technically, I think he still could hit if he was pitching. If I'm not mistaken, you don't have to use a DH, though obviously most of the time teams in the AL do.
  15. I don't know about Sprewell, but it seems like a lot of athletes go broke supporting their friends and family, like JoeHova was saying. Like MC Hammer a few years ago, when he had basically everyone from his old neighborhood on his payroll.
  16. No way is this true. The rivalries with the Cubs and Cards bring way too much money to Miller Park for the Brewers to consider moving. More likely scenario: The Marlins don't get their new stadium deal, and end up getting contracted, freeing the Royals to switch leagues.
  17. aracko, I don't think you're necessarily the only one questioning Sheets' workout routine. I know there's been at least one poster who apparently has some connections to the Brewers minor league organization that has mentioned some things about that. Basically, though, I think if Melvin was going to get a good deal for Sheets that made sense, it would have happened by now. Clearly Melvin did not get any offers worth considering, if any at all. Really, the Brewers just need to bank on Sheets having a good contract year. At that point, I think we'll be saying "adios" to him assuming he gets a big money offer from another team. Getting a couple high draft picks after losing him to free agency wouldn't be the end of the world.
  18. Yeah...I sent another e-mail this morning and got a really generic reply about "We understand you're having issues with your service. We need more specific data about who you are and where you're located," when the form I filled out had everything, including street address and telephone number. I don't know...I doubt there's much we can do about the situation right now, other than switch to satellite if you're someone who really wants to see FSN Brewers games in HD this season.
  19. I've sent multiple requests to Charter already about it, but I just get generic responses like "We love to hear from our customers, and constantly looking to improve our program offerings", etc. I'm not holding my breath, unfortunately. Like I said, I know someone who knows someone else at Charter, and he said their HD capacity is pretty much maxed out at this point, which is sad and pathetic in 2008.
  20. Sell some stuff you don't need on eBay. Maybe donate plasma.
  21. Pretty sloppy, but it's ESPN, so unless it's Boston or New York, I don't expect a whole heck of a lot.
  22. Actually, just checked a while ago, and according to wikipedia, it was the same guy.
  23. Eh...there's all kinds of tricks...Petty has always used backup vocalists, on tour, I'm sure. There's also "pitch correction" devices that most major acts use, etc. Not a big deal, IMO. Petty is from the "Bob Dylan school" of vocals, IMHO.
  24. BTW, about the Amp commercial, I'm probably wrong, but I thought the big guy in it bore a striking resemblance to "Donkey Lips" from the old Nickolodeon show "Salute Your Shorts."
  25. The Salesgenie.com ads pretty much sucked, IMO. I'm not an overly PC guy, but I could definitely see people getting offended by the Panda one. I was a bit overwhelmed overall by the ads this year. I thought the Coca-Cola one with Underdog/Stewie/Charlie Brown was the best. I did find the Budweiser one with the dog training the horse amusing as well. Overall I get annoyed, because Budweiser seems to always roll out a half dozen new ads during the Super Bowl every year that people are going to fawn over, and I'm always thinking "I wish they'd devote their ad budget towards making a beer that actually tastes like something." Like, I'm sure a bunch of hipster guys that are going through the trouble of hiding beers in cheese and wine boxes (during a wine & cheese party) are going to be drinking Bud Light. :P Fortunately, the game was so good (at least IMHO), I didn't need to waste time focusing on the commercials.
