  1. He did the same thing with Josh Hader then we shut him down and traded him to SD.
  2. I think I formed my opinion of Counsell when he called on Andrew Chafin game after game after game in one stretch when men were on base and the Brewers were either winning or tied and then we lost. It got to the point when Chafin came in I turned off the TV. What was even worse all the runs that Chafin let score were all added to the previous pitchers ERA.
  3. Not at all, I knew we were one of the weakest 1st place teams in baseball. My thoughts have always been win the division 1st and make a couple or 3 trades before the Oct. playoffs. Hopefully we will be a lot healthier by Oct also.
  4. I didn't realize he had 5 walks. But your right giving up 2 runs in 5 innings was acceptable against the Phillies when your so short on pitching. Hopefully we can somewhat reset now with a day off.
  5. Brewers just couldn't come up with one big hit the whole series.
  6. Now we need a dinger to tie it up.
  7. Also hard hit balls by the Brewers go right at the Philly players. Breaks of the game.
  8. We are being held together with duct tape.
  9. But the cubs are a .500 team so far. He left for the money.
  10. Might as well get swept by the #2 team in the power rankings.
  11. Now we need our offence to help him out a little bit.
  12. He looks tired to me, he doesn't hustle like he did early in the season.
  13. Talk about having Sanchez played perfectly.
  14. Pat Murphy getting a gut on him, to many cheese steaks.
  15. Yes, if I remember right his last 2 outings were pretty good in AAA but the Philly's are a whole different animal.
  16. Watching MLB Network and they said which I tend to agree with is: Using an opener might get you through a few weeks but that is not a solution to pitching problems/shortage/issues. It is a very short term solution in a pinch, that is it. It will catch up with them eventually.
  17. In fact I think that is part of why they brought Rhys Hoskins over here. For the exact same reason he is well respected in the MLB.
  18. I agree 100% with Adames clubhouse aspect, I didn't even think of that which is huge. Remember the Cardinals when Molina and Pujols in 2022 were old and neither could barely run, the Cards were 93-69 that year. The following year after they retired in 2023 they were 71-91. Burns did not bring any of that to the clubhouse because he was a good player but not a leader.
  19. But Adamas is 3 million cheaper and a SS plays every day, A pitcher about once every 5 games.
  20. No biggie, but at least STL lost they scare me more than the Cubs do.
  21. Burns is in the last year of his 15.5 million $$ contract and will be wanting more next year so that is why they traded him.
