  1. I haven't noticed that stand. How is it different? They have a touch screen for you to place your order and pay. Then the staff people bring your food. Saves them from having to pay a couple of workers to take your order. Basically it what every fast food joint will look like in 5 years if not sooner.
  2. I heard that they are going to redo all the concession stands to make them automated similar to the stand down the RF line on the lower level.
  3. Hopefully he can figure out what's wrong with Nelson over the offseason. We need to get him back on track.
  4. I'm really hoping the last game of the season they let him pitch and catch for an inning. That would be cool if he could play all the positions in a season.
  5. Kemp OPS+ is 125 for his career which is in the neighborhood of Braun's at 141. Prince finished at 136. I'm not making any promises he's going to go into decline in the next 4 years. I'm just saying the history, especially the recent history seems to be that these players are not aging well. And Braun has a significant injury history.
  6. When was it announced that the Brewers were moving back to the AL so that Braun could DH every game? Or did they make an announcement the NL is getting rid of the DH? I missed either or those. So Ortiz is irrelevant.
  7. Puig=2years of team control. Braun=4years+1option year of team control. Yes I'd take Braun's 4/80 over Puig's 2/16.45 contract and control. There's the deferred payments and already the payment of Braun's signing bonus which for Milwaukee means less than 4/80 impact. The contract on Braun lessens after two seasons so if he production reduces even to an .800 OPS vs .900 he's not grossly making too much money for the production. 4years/80 for other teams, sure can be a risk, but in 2seasons 2/34million isn't as bad a risk should you convince Braun to accept a trade. Maybe we're not as close to contending(Mets-itis of TJs) and Braun in twilight of career seeks out a contender his last 2 seasons+ potential option season. So while he'll have 10-5 rights, he's open to a trade to a contender. Whatever happens, after 2018 Braun can still be traded. If you're going to hold onto Braun for 2 more years, you might as well hold onto him for 4 and hope for the best. If he's still producing, by then we should be close to contention and want to keep him anyway. If he's not, he won't be worth nearly as much anyway. By waiting 2 more years on Braun, you're risking injury, decline, and Braun gaining more leverage through 10/5 rights. Doesn't make much sense to me. I have a hard time seeing his value in the next 4 years being much if any higher than it is now, but I could see it getting a lot, lot lower. There was an article in fangraphs earlier in the year, I want to say April or May, where basically every team that traded for an aging player with a big contract has regreted it with the exception of Detroit and Ian Kinsler. It was an ugly list. Carl Crawford, Prince(this was pre-career ending injury) Matt Kemp, I forget the rest. Even "healthy" this year you are only getting 140 games out of him. Which is great, but it's not like you should expect to get 150 or even 145 out of him next year. This could be the high water mark. Even if he plays like this the next two year, so what? We're not going anywhere. By the time we're ready to win, those last two years of his contract we will be wishng we would have traded him. By then it will be a salary dump.
  8. http://deadspin.com/madison-bumgarner-and-yasiel-puig-got-into-1786834171 Saw this from Puig. I just don't know about him. Maybe get him out of the NL West, or LA. On the other hand maybe he would just end up getting into it with the cardinals and/or the pirates.
  9. So can you use salty language if you are posting the lineup before a moderator, or is the p word acceptable?
  10. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/yasiel-puigs-other-huge-problem/ Fangraphs ran two articles early in the season on Puig. The first was that he was basically swinging at everything low and away. And the second was that he was hitting a ton more pop ups. Those articles were mid-may. I don't know if he has corrected those problems since then.
  11. I picked him up on my fantasy baseball team about a month ago. Obviously I'm not a scout, but I've never been more wrong about a guy. Which kind of proves DS plan is the correct one. Get as many bodies as you can and throw them against the wall, because you never which ones are going to stick.
  12. I liked this factoid, since the Pirates extended David Freese he's 5-30 with 0 rbi.
  13. When did Fangraphs and Brewerfan.net merge? Another Brewer article today. They are drinking the Brewer Kool-aid over there. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/chalk-up-another-brewers-buy-low-success/
  14. Can we sign Kirk to a long term extension or has he priced himself out of out salary structure?
  15. So who gets the ball that made the final out, Suter for his first win or Knebel for his first save?
  16. Occam's razor If I had my guess, I would bet he's not broke but isn't in the greatest financial position, and needs some cash. Yes, lots of former players don't have a shrine to themselves. But I can't think of any that have sold very meaningful items unless they "had" to sell them. Selling random balls, uniforms, etc. is housecleaning. But other items with more significance? If it's not about money, why not donate them to the Brewers, the MLB HOF, etc.? If he needed $200k why not coach at the MLB level? He's done it before.
  17. There was an article in the JS about this and they asked him if he was struggling financially, and he said no. I would assume if he was hard up he could be coaching somewhere and making a pretty penny. I'd buy the downsizing and just wanting to get rid of some stuff. I don't know who it was but some actor or comedian once went to Wayne Gretzky's house and was excited to see all of Wayne's trophies and things. All of Wayne's MVP awards were in the garage. Probably Robin had the same deal. No shrine to his accomplishments or anything. Just stuff in the garage.
  18. Frustrating that for such a powerhouse 1-2 combo that Brewers have a NLCS appearance and wild card appearance as only thing to show for it. Thanks Doug Melvin! Just like Billy Beane is the reason the A's haven't won the WS either.
  19. Maybe they could set up a vegetarian grill in his name at Miller Park. Call it Fielders Flora.
  20. He's facing the braves, which is kind of like facing a minor league team.
