  1. test 1, 2, 3 Edit: There, much better. Thanks for the idea Maas.
  2. Funny to see Eveland in front of Capuano in ERA as well.
  3. Escobar seems like he's going to be the real deal too! I thought he would be overmatched, it appears that he has proven me wrong. I wonder how long he has before we see him in a Brew Crew uniform.
  4. Kingdom of Heaven If you are a history buff like me, you'll probably love this movie as it follows the time in history between the second and third crusades. Had some pretty sweet fight scenes. If you hate history, I would recommend that you stay away. The Interpretor Solid movie, with a whole bunch of plot twists. Plus I just plain like Nicole Kidman. The Life Aquatic Ugh. Second biggest waste of time in my entire life. There were one or two times it had me smirking, but the humor is just so dry and pointless. I had more fun watching the Royal Tanenbaums (mostly because of the priest falling down the stairs). Be Cool The biggest waste of time in my life. I actually counted the minutes until it ended. Only line of any hilarity that I caught was about only being able to use the F' word once in a movie before it becomes and R rated film. He uses it once and everytime from there on out, they don't use it. Spanglish Great movie. Maybe because I have a major in Spanish communications, or just maybe because it gives us all a view of how difficult some in our country have it. The ending is so sad. Overall the movie is well acted, and Paz Vega is incredibly hot. Batman Begins Pure unadulterated fun. Probably the best of the Batman films to date. Yeah, you can't take it too seriously and the plot is a bit of a stretch and many of the lines are a bit corny, but I was still captivated. Fever Pitch I loved this movie. Pretty hilarious. Pretty much describes my life (except for having Drew Berrymore as my girlfriend). Good date flick, because it has its "girl" parts and its "guy" parts. *Warning* Its hard to hate the Red Sox after watching this movie.
  5. Answer me this Clancy, You repeatedly say over and over again that you want Overbay to start in left. Yet, Melvin has said it won't happen and Overbay has said it won't happen. Why would they lie? If he was actually capable of playing OF, that would add some serious leverage on the trade market because it would make him less expendible. Unless Melvin is stupid (which he isn't), Overbay will not ever play left field for the Milwaukee Brewers. Any thinking to the otherwise is just backwards. And repeating the idea in every one of your posts won't change that.
  6. I think we need you guys to tell Ned how to do his job. Apparently he doesn't prepare enough or put in the time and effort you guys do to find how things should really be done come game time. Honestly, I look at it this way. Hypothetically, if you have a guy on first base the OF will be playing deep to cut off alleys so it is very unlikely to score on just one hit (HR being probably the only practical way of scoring on one hit). Thus it takes two hits to get a guy to score. Assuming you have a team full of .280 hitters and assuming that the baserunner is fast enough to score from 2nd on a single. The runner on second with one out should score 56% of the time, where as a runner on 1st with no outs should score about 43.68% of the time. Granted HR can skew this a little, but normally you won't be using a HR hitter to bunt, so that should effect the percentages only slightly. The reason it isn't this cut and dried is because a team of .280 hitters doesn't exist, nor is the runner on 2nd always fast enough to make it home on a single, thus the manager must make decisions of when to swing and when to bunt. For purposes of having a real situation to discuss, lets look at a real life situation: Corey Hart is on firstbase. Brady Clark (.306) is batting with a red hot J.J. Hardy (I'll give him a BA in this situation of .275 since his numbers in real life are extremely deflated due to his early season struggles) and Overbay (BAA .276). Should Clark bunt? With Hart on second and one out, he would have a 55.1% chance of scoring, with hart on first and no outs he would have a 46.5% chance of scoring. Edited my math to include Carlos Lee.
  7. KKKK for Dunn. (nice) I'm feeling the breeze way over here in MN.
  8. This whole Russell Branyan thing is just plain... Dumb Dumb Dumb Can't people just agree to disagree and be done with things? Seriously, putting this much emotion and stress into something this unimportant is bad for one's health. (As is staying up this late, yikes, I gotta get to bed).
  9. *be careful with the Google Image search* This is just too scary. When did I get so good looking? http://ezhe.ru/data/fri/face/506.jpg
  10. That is hilarious! Wow! Vanilla Pepsi straight out the nose!
  11. http://www.503mulino.com/i/503.jpg
  12. Funny how...the Twins are winning tonight to go one game over .500 as well. I think its interesting that we are running neck and neck with the team we are modeling ourselves after.
  13. Come on Julio, strike out the side, I wanna see 4 strikeouts in one inning that would be sweet. Edit: Ok, maybe not, but I'll take the double play.
  14. But he has the same last name as a popular singer, how could you possibly not like him.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  15. Yankees' pitchers looking terrible today, Yikes, they hit a grand slam and they still are losing by 6. I think we'll be seeing Burnett in the Yankee pinstripes before too long.
  16. I believe the name for it is "eye of the tiger." (Insert corny song lyrics while Bill Hall runs up the stairs of the upper deck of Miller Park (now there is a commercial idea))
  17. Enough with the play by play http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Oops, sorry And, just trying to be humerous.
  18. Mentioning the steal by Lee is hardly play by play, its a surprising play and that's why we both commented on it. As for the discussion of Helling. Why do certain pitchers (Helling, Glover, Santos) pitch so well during parts of the season? What is the reasoning behind what you all are saying? Helling has made a string of starts since being promoted that would rival the best string of starts by any Brewer pitcher this season, yet because he's doing it in September it doesn't mean anything. Why would he be performing so well now, and not continue to be able to do so in a full time role next year? Everyone says small sample, but can anyone point out any other Brewer pitcher that has been this sharp and solid over 4-5 straight starts as Helling has?
  19. Another strikeout, when did Helling learn to pitch like this, yikes.
  20. Who needs A.J. Burnett, we have Rick Helling.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  21. If he is going to get the same amount of at bats whether he is the starting SS or not, why tie him down to that position, when we have another very solid up-and-coming SS already at that position. It works out for both of them to keep things the way they are. Hardy gets his at bats, Hall gets his and both of them get the opportunity to help the team win. Why block a good player A, with good player B when good player B is capable of playing other positions? That is what makes no sense to me. Oh wait, its because he "deserves" a position of his own, I forgot http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif .
